Thank you. Will do this when we get in. fatima04: You don't really need anything asides the Birth Certiifcate and the year she is placed is determined by when she was born. I.e before or after September of any yr. E.g your child born after Sept 2016 will probably be in Reception while those before Sept 2016 will be in Yr 1.
Regarding admission, in year applications can be tricky but not impossible, basically your house, location and local authority will determine the school and if your choice(s) are over-subscribed then they will be placed in the nearest school available, which may or may not be a good school.
The good thing is some schools will confirm availability for your child before you waste that slot when applying. So get a house, research schools you want in the area, speak to the council, shortlist schools and call them up before submitting your 3 or 5 choices to the Local Authority. |

Ok, thank you. Lexusgs430: I think it's too late to get in this term...... Term starts next week..... Unless the school is under subscribed, getting an under subscribed school in UK, is like hoping Churchill is the current Prime Minister...........
School admission is usually undertaken via your local council, when you get in, visit local school's within your area....... If you don't ask, you shall not know........ |

Hello, please I am coming into Bradford in a few days with my 6 year old daughter. She has finished pry 1 here in Nigeria and is currently moving to pry 2. Is there anything I need to get from her current school in Nigeria? Also, will she be able to get admission into a primary school in Bradford for this term? Any tips on how to apply for her? |
