Nigerian and our mentality. Tell me, what's the difference between they cohabited with enuf bleeping or u stay apart, but bleep regularly? So it funny some female here are castigating those who cohabited when they get bleeped regularly despite they didn't cohabit. I don't think Cohabiting is the problem op, Sex before marriage is. If you are here, having sex regularly with a partner u ain't married to and the feel u are better of than those who stays together u are the biggest hypocrite on earth. And for the op if u hv had sex without been married, and u are here sharing this.....my guy u are as bad as dey come. cohabiting is very bad in fact, it is more like see finish.

but to heap the blame on the female is so wrong. what of the male. can't he resist efforts not to allow his gf cohabit with him because more often than not, things will happen which one party might regret.

your thread reeks of serious bias and hypocrisy, no offense. going through it would be a total waste of time.

ps- despite all this bashing, many women still get married every other day. who marries them, men abi ghosts.

As I read some people's comment here....especially ladies... I just weep for my generation....gone are the days wen people value their body....no wonder marriages this days are in plenty shambles compared to the years back.

How many undergraduate ladies/guys will be proud to tell or show their parents that cohabiting is the kind of life they live?....

if as a single lady/guy you spend years living with different guys/ladies with high percentage of no marriage....why should the guy/lady you eventually marry respect you? is trust which is the bedrock of marriage magical? is this not one of the major reason for cheats in marriage? after all the years of constant practice with different guys/ladies.....you think one person will automatically satisfy you? won't you be consciously/unconsciously be comparing the present with the past in bed?

As a side note: nobody should refers to my sisters oooo.....the ones I have never cohabited. Train up a child in the way he should go.....wen he's grown....he will never depart. Nothing beats good home training and personal moral values.

Looks like we agree on most points. My argument is specifically on the conclusion you reached and it's bias against women.

If a guy has kept Himself clean he has every right to refuse a girl as wife who has not kept herself clean.

Conversely , if a guy has not kept himself clean but insists on finding a girl who has kept herself pure, he is a hypocrite par excellence and deserves what he gets.

In the UK many men are suffering or even committed suicide because they are rightly made to pay for any babies that are the result of pre-marital sex and trust me it is normally a substantial amount. And we have not even talked about hepatitis C , gonorrhoea or syphilis etc. Why should any sane women who has kept herself pure want to marry such a wreck ??

My point is that the OP's conclusion is not exclusive to women , it is also applicable to men, period.

I am definitely for one man one wife and waiting till marriage but unfortunately we live in an imperfect world.

The attitude of Jesus to the woman who had more than 6 husbands was not judgment and condemnation but love and compassion while obviously discouraging further sin.

My observation with these sorts of threads is that Nigerian men are one of the biggest hypocrites living on the face of this planet. They set high standards for women that they themselves cannot and will never attain to. They sleep around while condemning women who sleep around, they constantly harbour lust in their hearts and some even descend to masturbation , forgetting that Jesus said whoever looks at a woman with sexual thoughts has already committed the evil act.

Take a look at yourselves you Pharisees, judge yourselves so that God does not judge you on the last day. Do not think that you will be held guiltless because you are man.

The warning is for both men and women, so stop being a minsogynst . Offer sound advice and leave it at that.

Remember God's forgiveness is sufficient for the restoration of any soul and any soul that has been forgiven is 1 million times worthy of marriage and a bride price. If you don't think so, go and look for somebody else assuming you are a saint.
