What's strange is that you don't even realize how stupid you sound. Did you even read the picture you posted? It says that the Bible teaches that the Earth is not round, but that it is flat.

This is of course nonsense because the Bible even though it is a book of the supernatural and not a book of science, says that the earth is round.

The Bible teaches a flat earth, which leads also to the conclusion that the christain god in nonsense. How will your god not know the shape of the earth it created, that god must be a dull god.

In general, both Islam and Christainity are absolutely rubbish, and their god is vacuum.

Burna boy, we love all musicians davido, Tiwa savage, wizkid Kiss Daniel. All these artist I mentioned above use 90% of pidgin so that even aboki can relate.

For instance, who would have believed that Mr Real is from Anambra. But he sings in 80% Yoruba. People in the east vibes to his melody but don't understand what he's saying.

For instance, people in Enugu will get excited about Davido or Kizz Daniel than Mr. Real.

Just like how Phyno sings in 90% igbo language, his craft won't get people too excited in Ijebu Ode than Enugu.

But all the same I love all Nigerian musicians, and I thank them for making us proud

Seventy-five-year-old Corporal Philip Babawande (retd.), tells OLUFEMI OLANIYI his experience during the Nigeria-Biafra civil war and the plight of some ex-soldiers who fought on the side of Federal Government but have not been receiving pensions for the past 44 years

When did you join the army?

I joined the Nigerian Army in February 1968. I left in December 1978. I spent 10 years, but any soldier who fought in the war was given two and a half years. That is a bonus and it is added unto your years of service. That is why the number of years I spent is put at about 13.

Did you fight during the Nigerian civil war?

Yes, I fought. I started my battle experience in Asaba, which is the present day Delta State capital. I ended it in Onitsha.

Were you conscripted into the army?

I joined the army voluntarily. I went the first time but I was rejected based on my stature. I went again to Abeokuta when it was a depot and I was eventually selected in February 1968. I did three months training and immediately after the training, we were deployed to the war front. The war started in 1967 and after the three-month training, we were sent to the war front.

Where was the first place you were deployed?

I was deployed in Asaba.

Can you remember the name of your commander then?

It’s been a long time, I can’t remember his name. But one of our officers then was the former Military Governor of Oyo State, Major General Oladayo Popoola ( retd.). At a time, we were under General David Jemibewon

What rank was General Popoola then?

He just graduated from the Nigerian Defence Academy. He was a second lieutenant then as a fresher from the NDA. We were together at Asaba.

Did you have any near-death experience during the war?

I had many but I can never forget one experience in Asaba. We went for an attack where I was almost killed, but God just saved my life in a miraculous way. We were going into the rebels’ area in a single line formation and I was the fifth person from the front. We did not know that we were very close to where Biafran soldiers had planted landmines. Whenever I remember now, I still thank God for saving me; it was a divine intervention and I owe God gratitude for that forever.

Some of my pieces of ammunition fell and I just left the rank and started picking them. As I stepped aside to pick the ammunition, some of my colleagues had passed me and by the time I finished picking them, about 20 soldiers had passed so, I was now about number 20 something. We did not know that the Biafran soldiers had planted landmines where we were and they had laid ambush for us and were watching us from their hideout. We were the ones going to their stronghold to meet them; so, it was easy for them to prepare to attack us. The wire with which to ignite the mines was buried under the ground. Immediately I joined the rank back, I heard terrible explosions and my colleagues were torn into pieces; I could have been one of them if not for God’s intervention. God orchestrated how my pieces of ammunition fell and I stepped out of the rank to pick them back. The explosions were followed by heavy shooting and we had many casualties that day. God spared my life. Although as soldiers, we also fought back, we lost quite a number of our colleagues that day.

Which other place were you deployed after Asaba?

We were deployed in Onitsha. We were there in October 1968. Lots of people died during the war, but God saved me.

After those experiences and you have not been paid your pensions for the past 44 years, do you regret fighting in the war?

The only regret I have is that we are not being paid our pensions and that is quite unfortunate.

Did you gain anything from fighting on the side of Nigeria?

I did not make any gains in terms of money, but I gained experience. I might not have travelled to the East, but fighting during the war gave me that opportunity. During our time, promotion was so rare. I was in the rank of corporal for nine years. I served under the military police after the war.

Will you have preferred that the Biafran succeeded in breaking away with the way you are being treated now?

No. Not at all. My anger will not graduate to that level. I never regretted that Nigeria won the war. I also don’t have any regrets fighting on the side of Nigeria, because I fought to defend the unity of my country. Nigeria is my fatherland and I have no regrets at all.

Were there promises made to you then by the Nigerian government?

There were no promises made to us.

You said you were a Buhari boy while in the army…

Yes. He was a Major then. Although I was not directly under him, some of my colleagues served under him and that is why I have kept saying that Buhari is not aware of our plight. I am sure if he is aware of what is being done to us, he will take steps to redress it because he knows what it is to fight a war. We are living in poverty and we are supposed to be receiving pensions every month like others, but we are still praying to God that we won’t die without collecting our entitlements.

They have deprived us of our rights for the past 44 years. They have denied us our pensions for so many years and the irony of it is that they said we are not qualified, because we didn’t spend up to 15 years in service. It was Decree 102 they used against us. This Decree 102 was not supposed to be used against us, because they didn’t use it against the then rebels, the Biafran soldiers, who fought against Nigeria. The Biafran soldiers were paid in batches and they have all been paid to the last kobo. The last batch was paid last year, about 112 of them.

How old were you when you joined the army?

I was around 21 years old then. Many of us were in our early 20s and we all enlisted in the Nigerian Army and we fought for a period of 10 years and more, when the government depopulated the Nigerian workforce. Some of us crossed to various places like the police, Customs, immigration, schools and other places, where we continued with our lives.

When did you start this agitation for the payment of pensions?

We have been on this agitation since but it was renewed in2002. In 2007, there was biometric capturing and out of those of us who were captured, few people were paid and those who were paid have been collecting their pensions since then.

Why were they paid and some of you were not paid?

They paid those who spent 15 years and above in the army.

Were you paid any money when you retired?

We were paid gratuities, but it is the pension we are fighting for now. So, they owe us 44 years’ pensions now. But we are appealing to them to consider our plight. Some of us are very poor. Many don’t have money to feed or buy drugs, and that is why we are making this passionate appeal to the government to pay us.

PoliticsDangote’s In Law, Bauchi Commissioner, Chief Imam, Justify Killing Of Deborah by GreatAxeMan(op): 10:40am On May 15, 2022
Jamil Abubakar, a pilot and member of the Dangote family, says the mob action unleashed on the late Deborah Samuel, leading to her death, was right under Islamic law.

Mr Abubakar justified the killing of the late student by Muslims fanatics through a post made on his Twitter page quoting verses from religious books.

“In Islam we respect the Injil, Taura, Zabur, we were never taught to disresepct any of the book, or any of the prophets from Adam to Muhammad SAW & the Quran.

“The punishment for Blasphemy is DEATH! in most religions including Christianity. Respect people’s religion it’s simple!

“In Islam, the Sharia court handles these cases. Islam put rules & regulations to control peoples action and motives, so the wrong ones are not cheated and justice is served the right way,” Mr Abubakar tweeted.

Several strange opinions have trailed the gruesome murder of Ms Samuel by Muslim extremists in Sokoto, especially from public figures of Northern dissent, who claim that the Christian student’s death was justified by her lack of respect for prophet Mohammad.

Commissioner for education in Bauchi, Aliyu Tilde, also expressed support for the killers of Ms Samuel, excoriated Christians and others dismissing blasphemy as uncivilised to seek a psychiatric evaluation.

Imam of the national mosque in the capital Abuja, Ibrahim Maqari, justified the horrific murder of Ms Samuel, blaming her for crossing the red lines of Islamic faith.

Absolving her killers, Mr Maqari hinted grave consequences awaited persons who crossed the religion’s red lines, noting that such conduct will not be tolerated.

One of the first to have justified the barbaric act was a Sokoto government official, Anas Mohammad Sani, who threatened on social media that more Christians in Nigeria will be murdered if they say things considered disrespectful to prophet Muhammad.

The police in Sokoto have categorised one of the prime suspects in the murder of Deborah Samuel as a foreign intruder from the neighbouring Niger Republic.

Officials said the suspect could not be found in the metropolis despite being captured on camera proclaiming his role in the lynching and burning of the 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education.

“We started looking for him immediately we saw his video on social media because he is fundamental to our investigation,” a top police source told Peoples Gazette on Friday evening. “We are now learning that he is not even a Nigerian but only came in illegally from Niger Republic to cause chaos in our country.”

The official said Interpol might be enlisted to help arrest the suspect, even though many officers still hold that the suspect is a Nigerian and remained within the country’s borders.

“Some officers are saying he is a Nigerian and we need additional time to find him,” our informant said. “We have no facial recognition database, but we are following all available intelligence on the matter.”

A spokesman for the police in Bauchi said he could not immediately provide additional updates about their handling of the crisis. Commissioner Kamaldeen Okunola told The Gazette he was in a strategy meeting and was not in a position to comment on the investigation.

The police have already announced that two suspects are being held over the murder, which continues to grip the country for the third day.

On Saturday, violence broke out across the metropolis after thugs stormed the palace of the Sultan to demand the release of suspects from custody. The main Catholic secretariat in Sokoto was attacked during the rampage.

This is actually God's signal to Christians that humans were never meant to co-exist with animals.

Hundreds of Christian girls are kidnapped by these subhumans every year and subjected to untold trauma, Leah Sharibu has given birth in captivity, the majority of the Chibok girls are still in captivity, but Christians being mostly rational and responsible human beings didn't resort to the kidnap or maltreatment of innocent muslims in retaliation.

I want us as Christians to maintain the moral high ground as rational and responsible human beings, and resist the temptation of descending into the gutter because that is where the natural gutter dwelling scum who murdered Deborah Samuel belong. The gutter is for animals, not Christians.

Instead let us divert our energies towards pushing for an end to this unholy and unwholesome country which is incapable of protecting our most basic rights as human beings, a country that leads the world in everything that has to do with failure.

Let all Christians, be you from the West, East, Niger Delta, Middle Belt or North come together and fight for our independence or there will be millions of Deborahs in the years to come and our children and great grandchildren will curse us for not doing anything to stop this madness.
PoliticsBishop Matthew Kukah's Headquarters In Sokoto Attacked & Burned Down by GreatAxeMan(op): 8:49pm On May 14, 2022
ampaging thugs have destroyed the Sokoto Diocese of the Catholic Church headed by Bishop Matthew Kukah.

St Bakhita, which serves as the secretariat of the diocese, was set alight amid demonstrations for the release of Deborah Samuel’s murder suspects, according to pictures and videos shared online.

The videos geolocated by Peoples Gazette showed that the church along Aliyu Jodi Road was the same building claimed to have been burnt by rampaging thugs.

It was unclear if the church was targeted for arson because of Mr Kukah’s statement condemning Ms Samuel’s gruesome murder or if it was a random hit by the thugs.

When contacted by The Gazette, Mr Kukah said he was on his way out of Sokoto. The windy background on the bishop’s end of the call confirmed he was indeed on the move.

The Gazette could not independently verify if the respected religious leader was being smuggled out of the state for his safety at the time of filing this report.
A spokesman for the police in Sokoto did not immediately comment on the destruction of St Bakhita. The police fired teargas to disperse protesters from breaking into the church earlier in the day, but the attackers regrouped after the police vans left the neighbourhood, witnesses said.

Meanwhile, Governor Aminu Tambuwal has imposed a curfew over Sokoto to curb further spread of violence amid a mob rampage for the release of Ms Samuel’s murder suspects.

Ms Samuel, a 200-level home economics student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, was killed at about 9:00 a.m. Thursday for allegedly criticising Prophet Muhammad.

Her killing has sparked nationwide outrage, with political and religious leaders demanding urgent arrest and prosecution of all suspects.

PoliticsYoruba Group Warns About Influx Of Fulanis From Mali, Chad, Niger Into SW by GreatAxeMan(op): 1:57pm On May 13, 2022
A group in Yorubaland, Southwest Security Stakeholders Group (SSSG), has raised the alarm over influx of non-Nigerians into all the six states in South-West, saying the situation is threatening the peace of the region.

In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Adewole Ireti, the group said it was alarmed by the raging influx of non-Nigerians from Mali, Chad, Niger Republic and other neighbouring African countries into the South-West

According to the statement made available to The Guardian in Ibadan, the group raised the alarm after a meeting held at the residence of the convener and Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams.

Ireti stated also that the group could no longer keep mute at the impending danger lurking around the region.

“After the meeting with leaders of the Southwest Security Stakeholders Group from across the South-West, we agreed to raise the alarm over the influx of non-Nigerians invading the South-West and wrecking untold havoc to various communities in the region.

“Information at our disposal actually showed the plans and desperation of non-Nigerians with no identity and masquerading as motorcycle riders (Okada riders) to perpetrate evil across the South-West.

“From our investigation, many of the Okada riders in the communities are non-Nigerians with no identity and a place of abode.

“You can hardly trace them and we have it on good authority that they usually hold weekly meetings every Friday after the Jumat service at their various locations to strategise on the best approach for them to perfect their sinister motives against residents of the South-West.

“A large percentage of them are from other neighbouring countries like Niger Republic, Mali and Chad. They are motorcycle riders and have dangerous weapons stocked under the seat of their motorcycles,” he said.

The SSSG publicity secretary added that the reopening of Seme Border had, rather than being a blessing, turned out to be a curse, saying: “Our attention has been drawn to the various activities playing out at the Seme border. They didn’t allow duties, but they allow non-Nigerians from Burkina-Faso and Mali to find their way illegally to Iwoye, a town in Ogun State that shares border with Benin Republic.”

The group, therefore, urged all the South-West governors, traditional rulers and other stakeholders across the region to brace up to the security challenges to make the region safe.
