Forget that, Pep was obviously being very modest to his alma mater. Pep battered and bruised his compatriot so tey Enrique turn Wizkid.

When asked by Spanish media to describe what happened, Enrique was at a loss.

'I have not got an explanation,' he said. 'There is no explanation.'

tell us that pep's statement is false by backing it up with stats, because, the match i watched had stones constantly playing long balls from the back and cabellero pull out balls.

See yarns grin

Anyway see below...

But while the result will go down as another significant milestone in the club’s Champions League story, the manner of the victory – how Guardiola’s player beat Barcelona at their own game – is surely the most important factor from a result which leaves City well-placed to qualify from Group C. - The Independent

This was a win achieved with all the Guardiola hallmarks, in a blaze of attacking football, passing, movement and a willingness to take on the best without forsaking his principles. - BBC

Manchester City’s attack were truly outstanding in Tuesday’s comeback victory over Barcelona: a victory that few expected but was unquestionably the best European night in Sheikh Mansour’s reign. Scoring three times after having gone behind to the world’s greatest strikeforce is impressive enough, but shutting Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar out while actively going in search of goals really is testament to how far Pep Guardiola’s side have already come - The Telegraph

If a movie opened to these kind of reviews, na Oscars straight!
just answer sincerely, would you rather Chelsea wait for 10 attempts before beating Barcelona with attacking football in a group stage or Chelsea beating them the way they did in 2012 to win the Champions League?

First game it was City matched Barcelona until they started making those errors like Fernandinho slipping, like Gundogan and Kdb passing to opponent like Bravo handling the ball outside the area

And it wasnt any 2nd half sub, City was already leading before they made any sub

In what world was Arsenal outplaying Barcelona in Emirates last season? You mean anyone that managed to have 1 orr 2 shot on goal vs Barca is outplaying them?

That game, Barcelona had 15 shots and Arsenal had just 8. It was only Cech that kept the scoreline respectable

Yesterday we saw City having almost 8 clear chances vs Barcelona. That is more than most teams have managed vs Barca in recent times
they were leading courtesy of two individual errors from Barcelona players (the same thing you used as defence for pep last time.

Was it not at Emirates that Barcelona barely had a shot for 45 minutes, with arsenal creating more chances and threatening more.

I reiterate, some credit should be given to pep though, it doesn't take away the fact that he is not tactically sound as mou.

Was it not this same Barca team who won the Treble 2 yrs ago?

Is it not the same Barca who flogs Arsenal effortlessly everytime

Is it not the same Barca who have always flogged Man City without breaking a sweat. Before today Barca have met City 5 times and City have never been able to draw even once

Today I am seeing a team have more shot than Barcelona with MSN fully on the field

Show me 5 CL games in the past 5yrs where the opponent have more shots than Barca or the opponent didnt deploy some back to the wall bus park to get results

Todays game could have ended 7 -2 and No one would call it harsh

Take it Pep is a coaching genius and no one is close to him in Europe
you are the same person that said that Barcelona trashing of man city in the first leg has nothing to do with pep's tactics but his players foolish errors. Why is that you have failed to see that man city winning was down to silly errors from Barcelona players and not pep's tactics?
Your sentiments has always been your problem. You attach sentiments a lot to your analysis of view of the game that makes you sound childish atimes.

Nonetheless, I will credit pep for some things in that game. Firstly, he realised that it is his tactics that cost him the first game and he corrected it by bringing in aguero.
He was about making the same mistake he made last time in the first half by trying to give Barcelona full pressing (evident from the first goal), but he corrected that in the second half.

Arsenal was outplaying Barcelona for 70 minutes at the Emirates last season until they made the same mistake city made in the first half yesterday.
How can you be playing a corner kick against Barca with all your players in Barcelona's half when you know they have very fast and clinical attackers.

I will say, credit to pep for learning some lessons. Hope he keeps it in mind in case of next time.

In all, Barcelona individual errors and Pep's adjustment and subs in the second half won city the game.

Truthfully Mourinho blinded us with his force of personality...

You mean we had this KDB and Jose chased him away?
i don't regret the departure of kdb. Any player that can't stay to fight for the Chelsea shirt does not deserve to play for Chelsea, especially when the Player has not done anything for the club previously. We can all look at the case of Moses and Willian.

Afterall, mou was the one who gave him his debut at Chelsea, why didn't he utilise it.

Azpilicueta shows off monster stats again
Lots of Chelsea players have benefited from Antonio Conte’s formation shift, with the focus so far coming on the wing backs and Eden Hazard’s improvement in the tweaked system.
But quietly at the back of the side, Cesar Azpilicueta is thriving as a centre-back. While Costa and Hazard may have stolen the limelight with great goals, the win against Southampton was built on the defensive work of the Spaniard.
Corralling Southampton’s attacking pace is no easy task, but Azpi managed it in style. He made 9 tackles, 7 clearances and an interception to finish the game with an 8.13 WhoScored rating. Add to this 38 passes at a 92.1% completion rate and you have a truly complete performance.
Azpilicueta has been a favourite for almost every manager at Stamford Bridge since Rafael Benitez, and that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon with performances like this. As a top class man-to-man defender, playing in a back three is ideal for the former Marseille man, and he looks set to have the best season of his outstanding career in Blue so far.
Azpilicueta is the most underrated Chelsea player. Fans discuss less about him, but he has been the most consistent of all our players since he arrived.

Yes! But that was a team that was built as a mechanical team. A team that was good in the art of defending, a team that was the antithesis or antidote for those teams(barca/bayern). Now, we are trying to match them, to play like them and that requires time.
i saw something in this Chelsea team when they played against Southampton. The team was able to stay compact and focused when defending and direct, when attacking. this is the same way his Italy team played. It is about balance. his Italian team didn't match the Spanish team, but they beat them and also held the German team for 120 minutes.

It's definitely too early to say this team can beat the elite teams in Europe but it's also wrong to say conte won't succeed in the Champions League because of his pedigree shocked shocked
Raumdeuter, juve had finished 7th when conte was appointed, they had not been in Europe for four consecutive seasons and Moreso their appearances preceding their eventual demise from Europe was very underwhelming.
As for conte himself, he was making his debut in the Champions League as a manager so he could be forgiven for underwhelming in his first season considering the factors I have earlier accentuated.
For juve to have eventually reached the final immediately conte left is proof that his gradual task of rebuilding juve had been completed.
Many fans and pundits certainly appreciate his efforts in rebuilding juve so it's very unfair to for raumdeuter to call him a failure in Europe but it's will certainly be a grand delusion of the highest order to say this Chelsea can beat Barça or Bayern or any of the elite yet but as a Chelsea fan, I believe we are gradually getting there.
i hope you still remember the line up that overcame barca and Bayern the last time?

Why is this place so quite on a day like this? Hmm, Are we safe?

Antonio Conte names an unchanged side from the one which beat Manchester United so well in the most recent league outing. Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill are again the three-man defence with John Terry returning to the bench after his midweek cup outing. Pedro , a goalscorer a week ago, keeps his place in the attack along with Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, so Willian is also among the substitutes. For Southampton, former Blue Ryan Bertrand returns from a hamstring injury. That is their only change from a draw at Man City in their previous Premier League match. Fraser Forster, Virgil van Dijk, Steven Davis and Charlie Austin are back having missed midweek EFL Cup action. Chelsea are expected to line up in the following 3-4-3 formation: Courtois ; Azpilicueta, David Luiz , Cahill (c); Moses, Matic, Kante , Alonso; Pedro , Diego Costa , Hazard. Subs: Begovic , Ivanovic, Terry , Chalobah, Oscar , Willian , Batshuayi. Southampton are expected to line up in the following 4-3-3 formation: Forster; Martina, Fonte (c), Van Dijk, Bertrand; Clasie, Romeu, Davis; Redmond, Tadic, Austin. Subs: Taylor, Yoshida, McQueen, Ward- Prowse, Boufal, Hojbjerg, Olomola. The referee is Mike Jones.

No, he does NOT release the ball quickly enough and sometimes kills a move by holding on to the ball far longer than necessary. Very annoying. He can become and will be a better player by making quicker decisions on the ball. However, he is not totally visionless. That will be untrue.

The win today was down to the team, not just Hazard. EVERY SINGLE PLAYER worked very hard. The team won.
what you don't understand is that in such situation, he prefers to hold unto possession than pass the ball when there is no likelihood of the ball getting to the Player on the run.

This issue of releasing the ball quickly is where dribbling comes in. This is one of the reasons it is an important skills a midfielder or attacker should possess.
