Just like Nigerians who can afford it have left the grid...trust me, it's a wise investment to leave that grid cos now it'll probably be worse off...with it's everyday collapse.
Do you really want to have this conversation Nah...you don't.
You should've just justified your religion without involving Christianity cos it's an argument you can"t win with all the hijabs and rules targeting women.
I don't agree with the junky anyways cos there's no correlation with religion in the OP's post.
AbuTwins: Islam is the Only Religion That Gave Women Identity Islam uniquely honors and grants women a clear, dignified identity rooted in divine guidance, setting it apart from Christianity and other faiths.
Islam’s Affirmation of Women’s Identity: #The Qur'an explicitly recognizes women as full moral and spiritual beings with rights and responsibilities. Allah says: “And for women are rights over men similar to those of men over women...” (Qur’an 2:228)
#The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized respect and kindness toward women, stating: “The best of you are those who are best to their women.” (Tirmidhi)
#Islam grants women rights to inheritance, education, marriage consent, and economic independence—rights that were revolutionary at the time of revelation.
Comparison with Christianity: #While Christianity preaches spiritual equality, traditional interpretations often placed women in subordinate roles, sometimes limiting their public religious participation. For example, 1 Corinthians 14:34 instructs women to be silent in churches, which has historically been used to restrict women’s roles.
#The Bible’s creation narrative (Genesis 2) has been interpreted by some to imply woman’s secondary status, created from man’s rib, whereas Islam teaches that men and women were created from a single soul: “O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul...” (Qur’an 4:1)
#Islam’s legal and social framework actively protects women’s rights and identity, while Christianity’s historical practices often reflected patriarchal cultural norms.
Checking the Christian scriptures you'll never see the input of any woman in the compilation of the Bible! They were all men - Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, etc! This is too loud!
Islam is the only religion that gave women a clear, honored identity with comprehensive rights and dignity from its inception, supported by divine scripture and prophetic teachings. It elevated women’s status spiritually, socially, and legally, ensuring their full humanity and individuality, unlike Christianity’s historical approach which often subordinated women under cultural interpretations.
A guy gathers courage, drops to one knee in the middle of Bokku supermarket aisle with a ring, ready to propose marriage... only for his girlfriend to look shocked, uncomfortable, and ultimately say NO (or just walk away)!
The crowd of shoppers starts chanting "Say yes! Say yes!" adding insane pressure and making the moment 10x more embarrassing for both of them. Pure second-hand cringe as the guy is left heartbroken in public while people film everything. Classic high-risk public proposal backfire!
You better move out of that locality before they will bring unwarranted embarrassment to you from their gossips
One day 12 will come knocking cos of endless gossips.
Move to a place with privacy (even if it's a 2 bed) within a gated community if you can afford it.
Explanations won't work in a sitch like this
Techpik: Happy Sunday guys, this have accusation of labeling me yahoo guy in the compound have happened on many occasions during compound meeting, side talks etc.
But I’m not to be sincere I’m a freelance website developer working from home, I have worked for lots of people even on this nairaland, within Nigeria and abroad at the comfort of my home.
What use to trigger this labeling is because most of my neighbors go out in the morning and come at night and I’m always indoor (at home) living good.
So this have been causing side talks and even confrontations from some neighbors.
Most times I have been explaining and try to prove to them, that I’m a freelance website developer that I worked from home.
Before anybody will think the same on nai.raland, you can check me on google Techpik and all social medias and my site.
You will even see good reviews from people I have completed projects for.
I also need your advice guys, to deal with those neighbors.
You dey mind them? Their own understanding of democracy is warped and different.
This is the only way they can deliver the votes they've promised tinubu...otherwise, they know the truth.
See those ones denying that the forms are not for them...anyone who doesn't buy their oafish ideology is tagged an obedient.
AMINDA: No. Peter Mbah is the employee here. He was employed by the people of Enugu state under the PDP and he chose to decamp with the people's mandate and without their permission. Stockholm syndrome is one he'll of a drug!
That's not the case...cant you see the Uber hit the Bentley from behind? The person behind is always at fault o....unless you have dashcam footage showing the driver in front deliberately rolling back to hit you
netzro: Why any time small motor and big motor get accident na the driver of the small motor dey always dey at fault?
Next time you will look well and steer clear. He's lucky the rear lights didn't break....he'd have to sell that his corolla or camry and still borrow to pay for the damage.
I remember one transaction once where it took 4 years to buy an acre of land....this was simply because we insisted all parties must be physically present to sign the documents...it finally happened after 4 years of family feuds and meetings.
This was after confirmation on the state master plan to ensure we weren't buying plots in the middle of a circular road like some folks🤣
You can only imagine the trauma that would've ensued if we'd rushed the process
PropertyQuestNG: Have a great weekend, and remember: Smart property owners verify EVERYTHING! 💯
Watch this chilling CCTV footage showing a coordinated car theft on a busy roadside at Kwata by Express, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. A man parks his white Toyota Camry, steps out briefly to grab something, and leaves the vehicle unattended. Within minutes, professional thieves—who appear to have trailed him—arrive in a separate gray/silver vehicle. Using what looks like a master key (no forced entry or hotwiring), they casually unlock the Camry, rummage through it (likely stealing valuables), start the engine, and drive off calmly in broad daylight amid heavy traffic and pedestrians. No one intervenes as the thieves escape with the entire car.
9ja Citizens get intimidation, gaslighting and propaganda
The funny thing is...the way Nigerians display loudness and oversabi everywhere, you would think they would hold their politicians accountable ...but noooo...you would instead see them justifying govt incompetence and failure
Ihaveleftnaija: My friend ,Naija is very depressing and frustrating at the moment and there are no benefits for citizens. So you cannot really have pride when you are suffering. Your comparison to South Africa is silly at best. Firstly South Africans don't hold foreigners in high regard like we do. They don't go all out for strangers unless you ask politely. They also see begging foreigners for help ,not as a lifeline if you're poor but as an insult to their state who gives everyone free money monthly ,so why.beg?. Does Nigerian government offer the same benefits to the poor as South Africa?
As for Kenya, things are as bad as Nigeria over there too in many communities but they are used to foreigners because of their tourism ,so they don't see every foreigner as an ATM because they know others are broke but just saved enough to go there. And Kenya government also has some benefits for the citizens. What do we get in Nigeria to cushion the hardship ?
This is a good one. The system can be fixed in no time if these "civil servants" who see themselves as Lords of the Castle can be held accountable like this by all ministers...
Though these particular NIS guys seem to be for VIP registration, they should fan out to lighten the load when they're idle as the Minister said.
Your myopic mediocrity isnt helping you at all...did you read where dude said he'd visited Lagos and Abuja?
Which other SW are you talking about?
Instead of you to be pained that he ruled out most of the capitals, you're here yapping trash.
Have you seen any kid born and bred in affluence outside Nigeria that doesn't complain whenever they return "home"? You all are here criticizing the kid cos you don't know.
DomPerignon: Leave that cursed SE and visits any place else but there.
I agree with the reasons for this happening however, the issue isn’t about wether it happens all around the world ...that shouldn't justify the situation.
That a response is AI generated doesn't mean it's accurate or foolproof...AI responses also include data from developing countries and wrong sources.
Why didn't they run a scan immediately the patient returned with complaints? That's standard procedure especially for situations like that...if they'd done the needful on time, that death could've been avoided. She kept coming with complaints and they kept giving her pain meds.
Mind you, if this happened in the States or the UK like your example, that hospital would be sued into oblivion.
nairalanda1: Yes, and it happens all over the world.
America and the UK, to use two examples, have hundreds of incidents yearly. Those are the ones that are reported.
Stress among other things have been implicated as a cause.
