Education / Third Class Degree? You Still Can Rule Your World by GREcoach: 6:05pm On Aug 05, 2018
The Giant in me felt the Pain of perceived defeat when I realized I was graduating from my bachelor's degree with a Third Class Grade, little did I know that this was simply a bump on the road to glorious success and innovative biomedical research. Regardless of what you've faced or been told ,your class of degree might have others see you differently for a while but remember you can still ,Pursue,Overtake, Recover all you Lost and Even Outdo the seeming competition to not just becoming the standard but The Reference Point. That others see a little cat doesn't diminish the value of the lion you carry within.[img][/img]

Also i forgot to add this. in preparing for GRE, please bear in mind that there would be an experimental section which could be either quantitative or verbal. This doesn't add to your eventual score but can be draining if you aren't prepared. In my case, there was an extra quantitative section which nearly finished me because i didn't realize the test was computer adaptive(Meaning it adapts to your individual ability section after section). Hence in training if you have 35 minutes on the clock per section. Pls reduce it to 27/28 mins (meaning you only spend about 60 seconds per question). The extra minutes at the end will go a long way in affording you review your answers and tackle some other questions you might have skipped. Cheers Guys

The degree comparison of a HND and a third class is immaterial, im just saying both can decide to go the GRE or GMAT exam route
Education / What To Do With A Third Class Degree.......the Way Forward by GREcoach: 6:25pm On Sep 17, 2016
Finishing with a third Class degree does not make one a third class citizen. By far it only gives you a wider field of view not just in processing the world around you but it also gives you the tools to build your own world brick by brick.
Taking a cue from a passage in the Bible(Exodus 5:10-12) where a group of people called the israelites who through no fault of theirs were enslaved, they demanded that they be released. Hearing this, their captors decreed that their workload be increased while they asked them to source for their own straw; the main ingredient for creating the bricks they used to build edifices for their captors.

I ponder here at the similar circumstance of the third class degree holder who in this econimic climate has to meet up with the same demands those of higher qualifications also compete against, albeit without any advantage whatsoever hence most times depression sets in as well as a total abandonment of vision and focus.

Graduating with a third Class degree it took me a little while to realise i had the world at my feet plus i was not limited to the slavery of the Nigerian Economy, No i could take an exam called GRE. An exam in which i was judged by the same standards as those from US, India, New Zealand, Australia as well as other parts of the world. I took this exam and to my astonishment, the much covetted Class of degree Nigeria made us all believe was the onky path to salvation didnt even play a role as i was judged solely by my grade(which was quite good by the way).

Ive several people including some fromNairaland who are equally talented but have no clue that a Third Class degree is not the end of life. It is for you i have created this thread. There are vast opporturnities out there awaiting you. Please eel free to reach out to me via email. grecoach@outlook.com.
The field of robotics was always a fascination for me and GRE gave me a way to pursue that dream. So whether you have a Pass Certificate, An Hnd, a 2:1 or even a First Class, i would very much like to help you in training and preparing for the GRE (Graduate Record Exam) Once Again, pls this is not a Job solicitation or an attempt at wasting your time. Its just an attempt to reach out to those who've been asking the questions this thread provide answers to. Thanks

I currently teach both Analytical Writing, Verbal as well as Quantirative Reasoning targeted at the GRE.

Im aware that the odds against the average Nigerian Student are quite unevenl distributed due to the inconsistent internet access as well as other factors.

GRE hit me a a time when really had no fall back option, hence i gave it my best and went all out within my limited preparation time. i was able to acheive a score of 303 out of 340 (Combaine Quant and Verbal) as well as a score of 4 out of 6 in the Analtical Writing Section.

Haven gotten two Admission offers already, i decided to give back by teaching candidates how to beat ETD gre by preparing he GRE way.

Im open to questions as well as consultations.

Once again pls, this is not a job advert but simply an olive branch to anyone needing help or clarification regarding Blasting the GRE.
