To stop farmers from retaliating. We've seen this trick one time too many. It's gotten old. It's just like a person gives you a series of dirty slaps and the moment you are about to reply, neighbours come and hold both your hands to your back telling you, ”E don do. Make una no fight again." All you can do is just ...tears.

mvem: ...is it not against our law...na abortion tinz na Toh, there's morality and there's that battle with reality na. I know a lot of couples will happily embrace this especially seeing that the probability of having an SS in some cases is one out of 5 abi na 4 kids sef. |
Health › Re: Genotype: Is It Possible For Doctors To Make Mistakes? by GreenArrow1(m): 7:36pm On Feb 20, 2018 |
mvem: ...educate us more because the only medical advise I know is too avoid the marriage The way I heard it is that, in cases where the couple are likely to produce SS children as well as non -SS children, when the woman gets pregnant, the genotype of the feotus can be determined in the early weeks of pregnancy (second week I'm not sure). If it is SS, it is flushed out and if not, allowed to proceed to delivery. Apparently, there's a specialist hospital in PH which is quite successful with this practice. So my sister's husband told us. (My elder bro and wife has an SS son). |
Health › Re: Genotype: Is It Possible For Doctors To Make Mistakes? by GreenArrow1(m): 3:47pm On Feb 20, 2018 |
Drabrah: 1st, genotype like other investigations, is not run by d Dr. It's run ideally by d lab scientist in d laboratory. Yes, there can be mistakes & d mistake can be human or material. If u're in doubt, ur surest bet ll be a tertiary health facility like d teaching hospitals. As to ur major concern, AS + AS is a relative (not absolute) contraindication for marriage. Dat depends on a No of factors wc include (but not limited to) ur pockets, believes & degree to wc u guys love ursefs. U may wanna see a Gynaecologist, preferably one wt wu's a Fertility Specialist, to educate ur more. Good points. I heard of something like what you are hinting at in Portharcout where AS + AS couples were able to avoid SS offsprings under medical advise/guidance. |
