lexy2014: Last year alone, Kebbi State celebrated crossing over the 1 million metric tone production benchmark. This year is going to be almost double that. And that's for Kebbi state alone. Ebonyi state is fast increasing capacity too. I don't know where you reside but, in these parts, seeing foreign rice in the markets is the strange thing. There's a variety of stone-free (Nigerian rice) on EVERY stand in EVERY stall you can find. The reason why some of the big Thailand rice producers have started opening processing plants in Kaduna and Kebbi (please google it), is that they are beginning to recognize the increase in capacity of our local production. 2 Likes |

lexy2014: Examples of companies which buy off rice from farms include but are not limited to Olam (Big conglomerate which not only produces Nigerian rice but also exports to other countries. Google them), Miva Rice (Serving North Central states), Oracle Food Processing (Which just came on board with over 100000 hectares of rice farms and capacity to buy from others, located at the industrial Layout, Makurdi). The above listed companies are just those dominant in the middle belt. I have a 3 hectare cassava farm at the moment. Will be going into rice (Farro44 to be specific) and soya-beans production once the rains set in this year. See ehn, it's not a Buharists vs Atikulators nonsense going on. People are making money in this sector so a lot of us are also keying in. I'm a building Engineer but I also have farms. It's not rocket science. 1 Like |

eluquenson: Those three products are what we buy in my house. Over 5 years running. If you don't know a thing, learn it. When next you go to the market, ask them. However, if your purpose is to discredit the fact that there is a sizable increase in production as purported in the article then I must say that truly, you lacka lot of information about your country. Some only want to see bad in everything so it's understandable. Keep seeing bad. 1 Like |

Lol. This guy has hit the nail on the head. "The Igbos should stop playing politics of emotions..." No sane Nigerian would vote for an Igbo candidate IF the sentiments expressed by their sons and daughters online is anything to go by. The sheer amount of arrogance, ignorance, bile, hatred and downright animosity towards EVERYONE who they see as opposed to their views far outweigh any political goodwill the actions of the few rational ones could buy an Igbo presidential candidate in the near future. It's actually pathetic. The average Igbo man was hitherto known as an achiever, a go-getter. However, these new breed of online tribal touts seem to have been so effective at divisive politics of hatred and tribal bigotry that it's overshadowing the fact their elders are beginning to gradually see the need for inclusive politics as reflected in the recent presidential electoral results. 88 Likes 12 Shares |

![]() |
asobo: Thi fool thinks I'm Hausa/Fulani? God forbid. Just an onlooker. You guys have been peppering these Aboki's for so long Na. It'd be fun watching them do you guys small thing in return. The Yorubas actually play your foolish game of online tit-for-tat so there's no need calling them in. The Hausas are the real deal and present conditions are ripe for something like this. Everywhere go stew. Just keep up the taunts. |
![]() |
kareemkamil: No mind them. One Hausa man lost to another Hausa man and they can't sleep well again. Let them rejoice. We'll continue publicizing their celebrations over these killings until those offline get more aware of the very people they are hospitable to and can finally react accordingly. And to think some idiots believe as a sane youth I'd vote anyone above 60 for president. Lol. Make I continue dey share d thread abeg. |

xynerise: No. They actually portray the heart of sore losers especially the Igbos. Hopefully, as more killings happen, their rejoicing gets loud enough to be noticed offline by those they continually taunt online. |

Raalsalghul: Lol. |
![]() |
Raalsalghul: And so what? Anyway, I hope to see mass jubilations from more Igbos and their co-travelers as news such as this come up in the course of the president's next 4 years. It's understandable given the antecedents of you lot. As you celebrate over this, we sincerely hope that you also get to celebrate such in your household in no distant time. Enjoy. |
