Health / PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE- Major Cause Of Infertility In Women by greenhope(m): 7:34pm On Apr 14, 2016
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is a major cause of infertility in women. The main cause of PID is infection of the pelvic organs.

Pelvic inflammatory disease can cause infertility by producing scarring that damages or blocks the fallopian tubes. If an egg released by the ovary can't pass through the fallopian tubes, it can't get to the uterus to be fertilized.

It happens when the causative organism (germs) move up from a woman’s Virginia and infects her pelvic organs. Many different types of bacteria can cause PID; however, PID is most commonly associated with two common sexually transmitted infections (STI) – gonorrhea and Chlamydia. A woman can also get pelvic inflammatory disease without having an STI. It is believed that the normal bacteria found in the virginal and on the cervix can sometimes cause pelvic inflammatory disease.

6 things that can cause your risk of pelvic inflammatory disease include;

1. The presence of a sexually transmitted infection, especially gonorrhea and Chlamydia.

2. Woman under the age 25 years and are having sex, this is partly because the cervix of teenage girls and young women is not fully matured, increasing their susceptibility to STDs that are linked to PID.

3. Women who have more than one sex partner.

4. Women whose partners have more than one sexual partner.

5. Women who douche. Douching can push bacteria into pelvic organs and cause infection.

6. Women who have an intrauterine device (IUD).

What are the Symptoms of PID?

Pain in the lower abdomen and pelvis
Irregular periods
Pain during sex
Pain during urination
Lower back pain
Excess vaginal discharge with a foul odor
Fever, exhaustion, diarrhea, vomiting, and other general signs of infection.

pPlease Note: Douching significantly increases your risk of developing pelvic inflammatory disease and other pelvic infections and is not recommended. Douching removes the natural, protective mucous from the cervix, giving bacteria a more receptive place to grow. You should use caution if you must douche and be aware of the risk.

Whats the Solution
Since PID is an inflammatory disease, it will require a strong antioxidant to be used to get rid of it at least to a large extent and that is Garlic.

Yes the garlic you know.

How do you use the garlic to get rid of PID?

Health / 100,000 Nigerians Contact Cancer Yearly – Senate Panel by greenhope(m): 9:07am On Apr 12, 2016
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Health, Dr. Lanre Tejuoso, on Monday said that between 50,000 and N100,000 Nigerians contact cancer annually in the country.

Senator Tejuoso spoke as stakeholders at a one-day public hearing on a Bill for an Act to Establish National Centre for Cancer Research and Treatment in Nigeria expressed concerns over the spread of the disease in the country.

Tejuoso underscored the World Health Organisation (WHO) report that cancer is a major cause of global deaths with seven million being recorded every year and 72 per cent of such deaths occurring in middle income countries such as Nigeria.

He noted that the rate of deaths caused by cancer in the world is about13 per cent.
The Ogun State lawmaker noted that the Cancer Research Centre will foster scientific improvement to cancer prevention, treatment and care and as well co-ordinate and liaise between the wide range of groups and health care providers with an interest in cancer.

Tejuoso listed other objectives of the centre to include making recommendations to the government about cancer policy and priorities; overseeing dedicated budget for research centre; assisting with the implementation of government policies and programmes in cancer control and providing financial assistance out of money appropriated by the National Assembly for research and treatment.
He noted that one out of every eight women expect to be diagnosed of breast or cervical cancer in their lifetime.

Romance / France Bans Paying For Sex by greenhope(m): 10:19am On Apr 08, 2016
French MPs have passed a law that makes it illegal to pay for sex and imposes fines of up to €3,750 (£3,027, $4,274) for those buying sexual acts.
Those convicted would also have to attend classes to learn about the conditions faced by prostitutes.

It has taken more than two years to pass the controversial legislation because of differences between the two houses of parliament over the issue.

Some sex workers protested against the law during the final debate.

The demonstrators outside parliament in Paris, numbering about 60, carried banners and placards one of which read: “Don’t liberate me, I’ll take care of myself”.
Members of the Strass sex workers’ union say the law will affect the livelihoods of France’s sex workers, estimated to number between 30,000 and 40,000.
Sweden was the first country to criminalise those who pay for sex rather than the prostitutes, introducing the law in 1999.
Other countries have since adopted the so-called “Nordic model”: Norway in 2008, Iceland in 2009, and Northern Ireland in 2014. Earlier this year, the European parliament approved a resolution calling for the law to be adopted throughout the continent as Nigeria considers same.

Health / Vitamin D Can Cure Heart Diseases by greenhope(m): 8:57am On Apr 06, 2016
A growing number of studies point to vitamin D deficiency as a risk factor for heart attacks, congestive heart failure, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), strokes, and the conditions associated with cardiovascular disease, such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

Vitamin D supplements may help people with diseased hearts, a study suggests.

A trial on 163 heart failure patients found supplements of the vitamin, which is made in the skin when exposed to sunlight, improved their hearts’ ability to pump blood around the body.

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals team, who presented at a meeting of the American College of Cardiology, described the results as “stunning”.

The British Heart Foundation called for longer trials to assess the pills.

Vitamin D is vital for healthy bones and teeth and may have important health benefits throughout the body but many people are deficient.

What is vitamin D?

Vitamin D acts as a hormone, regulating more than 200 genes throughout the body. It does an impressive amount of work. For example, vitamin D:

Keeps abnormal cells from multiplying in breast and colon tissues

Helps regulate blood pressure in the kidney

Helps regulate blood sugar levels in the pancreas

What causes vitamin D deficiency? Who does it affect most?

emmaBS:
If you have enough capital to compete in Idumota, then Idumota is better. Shops are more expensive in Idumota but you are sure of sales no matter the level of competition.
You will make sales in Sango but the volume can not be compared to that of Idumota. Also, it will take longer time for you to gain many custmers in Sango.

But OP, the product is not new in d market. You will see many different designs and brands of that product in the market already.

Thanks Emma,

Your suggestion was really on point.

I believe the future of market and sales is in retail and that's why am looking at sango ota or oshodi instead of competing in Idumota not that I can't.

I just think instead of being a fish in an sea why not become a crocodile in a river

Its just my business concept for now and I am still open to more ideas here

Greetings

Recently I saw a product that caught my interest and after researching it, I discovered it a problem solving product. e.g The product is rechargeable lamps, fan and torch which I believe partly solve the problem of power in Nigeria.

My Question is

Where will be more strategic for my market/shop location, is it in idumota which is where people go and buy it in wholesale and retail but with alot of competitors or Sango Ota where we have small retailers without wholesellers and competition ?

Business / SEC Approves Plan To Issue Stock Via Bitcoin’s Blockchain by greenhope(m): 8:01am On Feb 29, 2016
The Securities and Exchange Commission has approved a plan from online retailer Overstock to issue company stock via the Internet, signaling a significant shift in the way financial securities will be distributed and traded in the years to come.

Over the past year, Overstock and its freethinking CEO, Patrick Byrne, have developed technology for issuing financial securities by way of the blockchain, the vast online ledger underpinning the bitcoin digital currency. The bitcoin blockchain is essentially an enormous database that runs across a global network of independent computers. With bitcoin, this ledger tracks the exchange of money. But it can also track the exchange of anything else that holds value, including stocks, bonds, and other financial securities. Overstock has already used the blockchain to issue private bonds, which did not require explicit regulatory approval. Now, the SEC has told the company it can issue public securities in much the same way.

Such a system could eliminate the unnecessary middlemen who have traditionally controlled the market.

Business / Japan Considers Bitcoin A Commodity. The New Definition Would Consider Anything by greenhope(m): 5:24am On Feb 27, 2016
Proposed changes would bring bitcoin definition of currency

Japan’s governing Liberal Democratic party is planning to propose legal changes that would define bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as currencies.

The changes would mean bitcoin could be more tightly regulated and taxed, and are likely to lead to more investment in developing cryptocurrency infrastructure in Japan.

Tomonori Kanda, an official in the financial affairs section at the party’s headquarters, said legislative changes were discussed on Wednesday and the LDP aimed to raise the matter in parliament.

“There is a long way to go,” he said. “But we have discussed reform and believe it is the right way to go.” The timing of the change was yet to be decided, he said.

Japan considers bitcoin a commodity. The new definition would consider anything that can be exchanged for goods and services or legal tender as a currency, bringing bitcoin into the fold.
