Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo has put paid to rumours making the rounds that Funke Akindele was indeed responsible for the failure of his first marriage seven years ago.

In an interview with City People, the popular Yoruba actor and former lawyer explained that the marriage broke-up only due to the fact that his baby mama did not really like his profession.


In his words; ‘Funke had nothing to do with the marriage crash, the major reason my marriage broke-up was the fact that my baby mother does not really like my profession. Funke absolutely has nothing to do with this marriage problems. And I want people to get this clear.”

Femi added that his ex-wife sought for divorce after only two years of marriage.
In his words: ‘After about 2 years of separation, I think she couldn’t take it any longer, she filed the divorce about 4 years ago. She filed it at an area court in Ilorin where the marriage was celebrated. The marriage was dissolved and we had agreement on how to take care of the babies, how to have access to them and all that. She has the custody of the children and that is that. Under the principle of Islam which our marriage was celebrated, she should have the custody of the children.’

A Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, on Sunday, wants lawmakers on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in the House of Representative to vote for Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the House.

Gbajabiamila, a member of the APC emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the 8th Assembly on Saturday.

He polled 154 votes out of 182 votes to beat Yakubu Dogara in a primary conducted by the APC in Abuja on Saturday.

Reacting to the election, the former Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation in the 2015 general elections, described Gbajabiamila’s emergence as a welcome development.

” I am glad that Femi Gbajabiamila has emerged as the APC consensus canddiate for Speaker of the House. I urge the PDP members to vote for him,” he wrote via his twitter handle.

Things may have fallen apart in Five Star Music group popularized by Kcee, as ExpressNG can confirm that manager, Soso Soberekon and producer, Del B have both taken a long walk.

Inside sources confirm that the once fruitful relationship started turning sour when Del B felt he should be earning more in terms of royalties and production fees for his work with KCee and the music label owned by KCee’s producer E-Money.

No fewer than five persons, belonging to a cult group on the Lagos Island, were feared killed Wednesday during a fight.

It was gathered that the youths from Lagos Island, had for a christening ceremony in Ajah area of the state and were returning home in a chartered Volkswagen bus when another set of hoodlums opened fire on the bus and killed five of the occupants.

Report says the driver of the vehicle and one other youth, who pretended to have been dead from the bullet wounds they sustained, were said to have escaped back to the Island to report the incidents to their relatives.

The deceased, who were identified to be boys working with the chairman of the National Union of Road Transport workers (NURTW), Oyebanji branch, Lagos Island, Alhaji Mustapha Adio Adekunle (aka. Seego), include, Samson, Ganiyu, Idris, Ladi and one other.

Residents said trouble started last week Sunday on the Island when Seego and another leader of notorious boys, identified as Tunde (Alabi Yellow) met at a social gathering and Seego asked Yellow to bow for him, but refused.

It was further gathered that Seego then ordered his boys to deal with Yellow by breaking bottle on his head, even as they tore his clothes into shreds.

The Police Public Relations officer, Lagos Command, Ken Nwosu, who confirmed the incident, said two of the attacked youths died and two others who sustained bullet injuries.

Many people, in search of true love have confused and mis-interpreted it to be another thing. What is love? The first thing I would like us to understand is that love is stronger and really goes beyond our feelings. As a matter of fact, any form of love that starts and stops at the level of your feeling is not sustainable. Real love is when the happiness, health and spiritual growth of another person is as important to us as ours. In other words, it is a concern for the welfare of someone without any desire to control that person or demand for it in return. It is simply sacrifice!



Love is not the same as lust. Lust is a strong or uncontrolled desire for sex. It is based solely on physical attraction and fantasies which mostly dissipates once the real person shows off because at the initial stage, it’s all a perfect and a no-wrong individual you were seeing. Lust takes but love gives; lust uses but love values; lust seeks immediate gratification but love endures.



There are three forms of love I would want to mention before we discuss love and infatuation. This will aid our knowledge of love and infatuation better.

Love if…
This kind of love is given or received when certain conditions are met. This means you must do something to be able to earn this type of love which would be in exchange for what the lover wants. It has strings attached and a lot of effort goes into it to be able to sustain it. For example, this type of love in the subconscious says things like; if you dress well, I will love you; I will love you, if you have sex with me; If you behave in a particular manner, I will love you etc. Are you familiar with any of these lines?

Love Because…
You receive this type of love because of who you are or what you do. It could happen because of your beauty, strong financial base, fame, eloquence etc. This form of love, likewise the one above is not equally sustainable. If that is why someone loves you or you love someone, it is just ......

New indications emerged that efforts by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, to speak with Buhari aboard the British Airways aircraft failed awfully as the President-Elect only greeted her during the boarding process and then quietly settled into his seat 2K in First Class.

The embattled Minister, it was learnt, had somehow booked herself into seat 3K, seating directly behind Buhari on the six-hour flight.

SR report that she rose up a few times and tried to stir up a conversation with the President-Elect, but that he only nodded and let her get back to her seat without permitting any dialogue. Bobby Brown managed to untangle himself from the ordeal of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina over the weekend as he celebrated the upcoming birth of his sixth child and birthday of his youngest son, Cassius.

Brown’s wife and manager, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, is expected to give birth to the newest addition to their family in the next few weeks.

With family and friends by their side, the couple was given gifts and showered with love in honor of the upcoming arrival of their second child together.

Cassius was also showered with a lot of love and affection, as his sixth birthday was celebrated about two weeks early. Emotions rose high as eminent personalities broke down in tears at a farewell and thanksgiving service organized for President Goodluck Jonathan at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life Camp, Gwarinpa, Abuja.

First Lady, Patience Jonathan and other eminent personalities fought back hot tears during an emotional speech by President Goodluck Jonathan.



During his speech, President Jonathan said that experience had shown him that people would at a time desert anybody who took “hard decisions” like he did while in office.



Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Political Affairs, Doyin Okupe noted, “It was a lovely event though quite an emotional one too. I saw eminent men and women dabbed their eyes. I struggled with mine.”



The President recalled the story of the last ruler of apartheid South Africa, Frederik de Klerk noting how he was divorced by his wife for accepting to abolish minority rule in the country.



He looked at the first lady and asked jokingly if his wife, Patience, would not also divorce him after the end of his tenure on May 29.



Wasting no time, Mrs Jonathan enthusiastically responded with a resounding shout of “Nooooo.”



Okupe counseled, “Nigerians don’t weep for Jonathan. Rather weep and pray that our Nation will remain United and stable, that it’s people will prosper and that God will guide our in coming leaders right and endow them with the competency of His Wisdom to lead us aright.



“We bow out with malice to no man and goodwill to all. Personally I thank God for another opportunity to serve a second Nigerian President. I have no regrets only joy and peace.



“I stood for Jonathan. I still stand by him and he will always be my President weather winning whether losing, in victory and in defeat.”
