There is no end in sight of the messy divorce war that has torn apart the marriage between Adaeze Yobo’s Mom and her estranged hubby, John Fashanu.

Embittered Abigail Igwe has fully responded to the allegations of her ex-John Fashanu.

Igwe was initially accused of lesbianism, greed and being violence. She has again cleared the air on allegations in a recent chat with Encomium magazine.

“All the things he told you are lies. No media house that wants to survive should listen to John Fashanu. He’s a chronic liar. He’s a drowning man who is looking for another person to drown with. Is it a man that should be ranting or a woman? He’s the one that is hurt that I kicked him out. Who does not know him?

I was ashamed that I lived with such a man. I didn’t know what to say. People will say were you not told? Is it a secret that he’s like that? I’m not such a loud person. That’s why I quietly closed the chapter.

Slamming the ex-footballer more, the embittered woman said, “I’ve kicked him out so many times. He kept doing a lot of things. It was about fraud initially. He was continually defrauding people. That he had a wife that is a lawyer.

He defrauded many footballers, we saw him on TV. N2 million from them, from poor families. He threatened them with guns. And they’d be crying. I kept kicking him out of my house. It was few months after, about a year. That I first kicked him out.”

The pretty divorcee who is spotted recently with her daughter and Grandson, narrated how she caught her ex-husband with her maid in bed.

“The first one was in my house red-handed. I was travelling, and he said he wanted to live in my house. That he would miss me.

I came back, accompanied by my friend. She was driving. I was looking for evidence. I told her that I was getting ready for divorce. When we came in and opened the door, I caught them naked. The house girl is Igbo, and she ran. I called her came back. I spoke in Igbo. I told her that this man is shit. I cannot go back to him that she should not worry. When the girl asked if I had forgiven her, I said yes. I said she should go back.

Contrary to the ongoing social media hearsay, Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has refuted labeling Igbo people as politically naive.
The social media platform was agog with the news that Soyingka, while delivering a lecture titled ‘Predicting Nigeria, Electoral Ironies’ at Harvard University Hutchins Centre for African and African American Research in the United States lambasted the Igbo people for voting for stomach interest.
He was quoted as saying “Igbo remained unrepentant and resolute towards their strategic objective of secession at worst; or a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction at best.”
However, Soyinka said in a statement Tuesday denied making such crude comment during his speech.
He strongly warned social media users against peddling unverified rumour.
He said, “I have just read a statement attributed to me on a news outlet, evidently one of the Internet infestations. My lecture at the Hutchins Centre, Harvard University, was video recorded. Anyone who believes what I am alleged to have said must be a slowpoke – repeat, a slowpoke.
“It is demeaning, sickening and boring to have to deal with these cowards who cannot fight their own battles but must fasten their imbecilic pronouncements on others. Only the mentally retarded will credit this comment attributed to me regarding the Ndigbo voting pattern in the last elections.
“I strongly suspect the author of this despicable concoction, and may make a further statement, once the source is verified,” he added.

Barely a year after rocketing to the top of Forbes Five Wealthiest Hip Hop Artistes, Dr. Dre yields the number one position to Diddy.

Other three who makes up the list includes Jay Z, 50 Cent and Birdman.

After his multi-millionaire deal with Apple for Beats By Dre, the showbiz mogul reportedly shelled out a whopping nine figure sum in taxes.

His deal, whose value was reported at $3.2 billion, ended up at an even $3 billion in cash. After taxes, Dre’s 25% stake left him with a $500 million windfall–$100 million more than FORBES estimated his stake to be worth last April–and a net worth of $700 million.

Amazingly enough, Dre is not the richest man in hip-hop; that honor goes to Diddy, who clocks in at $735 million. The news may come as a surprise to many, but while Dre’s wealth derived from a single jackpot idea, Diddy’s is the product of his interests in a slew of companies, a handful of which could one day give him a Beats-esque exit.

Diddy has a deal with Diageo’s Ciroc vodka that guarantees him a split of the proceeds if the brand is ever sold, an event that would surely land him a nine-figure check. He also owns a controlling stake, or close to it, in clothing lines Sean John and Enyce, alkaline water brand Aquahydrate, new tequila DeLeon and multimedia network Revolt. Diddy founded the latter as a sort of next generation MTV with a renewed focus on music.

Las Vegas Police has named Chris Brown as a suspect in a basketball-related battery incident that occurred on Monday, May 4.

The R&B singer was identified as the man who allegedly assaulted another adult male during a basketball game at Palms Casino Resort, according to the Las Vegas police. The man was treated for non-life threatening injuries, which were sustained after a verbal spat lead to a physical fight.

According to the LVMPD, Brown wasn’t the only man who assaulted the victim.

After the first hit, “the victim prepared to defend himself and was then hit by another male reportedly with Brown,” the Vegas police’s press release stated.

“Mr. Brown has been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery, or having the case submitted to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the press release reads. “As of this release, the LVMPD has not heard from Mr. Brown or his attorney indicating whether or not he would sign the citation.”

As you all know, I am currently writing my music law book for Nigeria/Africa’s industry. It now has fifteen chapters. In the book, I decided to dedicate a chapter to dealing with violence against female artists and sexual harassment in the industry.

Indeed, since my foray into establishing Africa Music Law, I have heard many stories about executives in the industry alleging pummeling and making female artists their punching bags. The stories include allegations that Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay were regular punching bags at their previous management labels, before they finally left. I have also heard stories about Ubi Franklin, co-owner of Iyanya’s MMMG Record Label, making Emma Nyra his constant punching bag. It is my understanding that industry insiders witness these beatings but nobody does anything about it because “that’s just the way it is.”

Further, it is my understanding that Emma Nyra has been forced, against her will, to agree to play along to fabricated stories to the media and press that she is Ubi’s girlfriend. Again, apparently many in the industry know about this but do nothing. I have heard so many stories/allegations of violence against many female artists, it would fill up pages if I began sharing these allegations.

As to the allegations against Ubi, I have been unsure what to believe until the recent explosion on social media by OAP Fade Ogunro who is also co-owner of a video production company, Film Factory, with her brother Sesan Ogunro. Based on the statements she shared on social media, which she has since deleted, but not before many captured it, she accuses a music executive of constantly beating up his artist girl friend signed on his label. She drops enough clues that has the internet buzzing that the story/clues she shares is about Ubi Franklin and Emma Nyra.



What’s particularly interesting to me is how Fade completely “wigs out” over this guy interfering with her personal relationship with her boyfriend. She doesn’t “wig out” to protect a woman she is aware of that is being pummeled daily ,even though she is a radio host and also wields some power in the industry. But, the moment her relationship is threatened with her boyfriend, she takes to social media to begin calling out “niggas” as she puts it.

First, Nigerian women in entertainment, if you are aware that your sisters are being pummeled by those who should protect them, why do you wait until those people threaten your own relationships to “out” them? What are you doing to be your sister’s keeper? And don’t you dare tell me you have no responsibility to.....

Not deterred by a failed attempt in 2010, Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, said he still wants to buy English Premier League soccer team Arsenal.

“I still hope, one day at the right price, that I’ll buy the team,” Dangote, 58, said in an interview with Bloomberg as he traveled on a plane owned by one of his companies between the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa and the Nigerian commercial hub of Lagos on May 1.

With air of confidence, he adds “I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist. I know my strategy.”

While Wenger has managed the club well from a financial standpoint, he “needs to change his style a bit,” said Dangote. “They need new direction.”

Argentine newspaper Clarín had earlier revealed not only that Ms Roccuzzo is with child, but had gone as far as claiming that it will be a boy and it even has a name already!

That name is Benjamín, the same name that Messi’s good friend Sergio Aguero gave to his child with Diego Maradona’s daughter, Giannina.

Fashanu had accused his estranged wife of trying to kill him with a knife during a furious row at their home. He also insisted that she cheated on him with a woman.

She denied his claims and the ­astonishing battle – which includes the ­accusation that he bedded their maid – is to be played out in the high court in Abuja, Nigeria.

Following the statement by Nigerian army that the hundreds of women and girls rescued from camps run by Islamist group Boko Haram on Tuesday are not the same ones who were kidnapped from a Chibok school last April, reactions and counter-reactions have since been poured out over the matter.

Many had hoped that the rescued girls were the same ones kidnapped a year ago from a Chibok school, but they were disappointed.

Abashin, 50, has said he was homeless in Bangkok when a new “friend” offered him $400 to take some clothes to Indonesia. He was arrested in Surabaya with 5.5kg (12lb) of heroin and originally sentenced, in 1999, to life in prison.

NATIONAL order and constitutional reform: Nigeria is in utter chaos and disorder. This greatly affects the nation. The disease of disorder has eaten deep into our national fabric. The absence of order has badly damaged the national psyche.
Love of country is absent. It is suggested that your government works out a framework to reverse disorder and instil discipline. The issue of national order is closely linked with a new constitutional order. It is strongly recommended that priority should be given to the national question and resolved urgently. The nation will not settle or move forward without solving the issue of disorder.
A new anti-corruption framework: Corruption is endemic in Nigeria and to reverse it requires strong new institutions. There has to be roots and branch reform of the anti-corruption agencies if we must succeed in slowing down corruption before even thinking of reversing it. Salaries and emoluments voted to our legislators by themselves is about 25 per cent of our national budget. This is unconstitutional because it is not approved by the Revenue Fiscal and Mobilization Commission. Stopping this outrageous conduct on the part of the legislators is, with respect the litmus test in assessing the sincerity of the anti corruption agenda. It is strongly recommended that the NNPC be fundamentally reformed.
Corruption is also manifest in over bloated budgets for the presidential villa and government houses, corrupt/weak public procurement procedures and abuse of discretion of ministers in the award of contracts. All these have taken a major toll on our resources and encouraged corruption. The first crucial challenge is for you to stop these aspects of corrupt practices and introduce major spending cuts.
Economic matters:

The priority must be to diversify the economy and make it less dependent on imports. Nigeria has long depended on crude oil as if it is the only hydrocarbon to the utter neglect of gas. The economy heavily relies on oil revenue and is vulnerable to price shocks in oil and the associated risk to national stability. The most recent volatility in oil prices suggest that we must start to diversify our revenue income streams by developing non-oil tradable sectors.
A clear strategy, model and plan for economic diversification both horizontally and vertically is necessary. Horizontal diversification should explore new opportunities in the same oil and gas sector. There are at least thirty-six value added products to be explored in the extraction of crude oil. Vertical diversification means a shift from the oil and gas sector to other sectors, agriculture, services, maritime, aviation/space, manufacturing, health, sports etc. Pursuing economic diversification will make the economy less vulnerable to the boom and bust cycles of oil and natural gas prices. A model we can follow is the United Arab Emirate that has successfully diverted out of oil into new revenue sources.
Financial services sector: The Financial Services Sector (FSS) is the oxygen and life blood of a strong economy but it has to be supported by strong independent institutions. We have weak institutions in the FSS. This has made the economy weak; a new strong FSS is sine qua non for growth and development. A strong FSS enables banks to provide credit not just to a few but to all Nigerians. Nigerian banks are mostly money lenders and traders.

Banking regulators have failed to supervise them. As a result the economy is starved of badly needed credit. The proper role of banks is to lend money to the well over 100 million potential Nigerian customers. Now only the privileged few get bank credit. In a shocking twist, popular medical drama witnessed the death of the much-loved Dr Derek Shepherd a.k.a McDreamy a.k.a Patrick Dempsey.

“I’ll be back before you know it,” the hunky doc told his wife Meredith Grey, flashing a smile as he walked away, at the start of Thursday night’s emotional episode but, little did she know, that would be the last time she ever saw her husband.

The episode, written by series creator Shonda Rhimes, opened with Derek witnessing a horrific car crash and rushing to help all of the injured people on the scene. Of course the incident was the perfect scenario for him to also murmur his signature line: “It’s a great day to save lives.” But, in a tear-jerking twist that no doubt left thousands reaching for the Kleenex, that wasn’t the only car crash of the episode.

Just as the heroic Shepherd was pulling away from the scene, he heard his cellphone ringing as he turned into the road. The medic then stopped the vehicle to get it out from between the seats and POW! – a semi crashes into him. McDreamy is then taken to an unknown hospital, bloody and covered in bandages. The doctor narrates his own inept care as he lay on the gurney in the operating room. We then see the police tell Meredith that there has been an accident. She makes her way to the hospital and finds her husband on a life support machine. The neurosurgeon then tells her that the man she loves is brain dead.

Without consulting anyone, and completely alone, Meredith signs the papers to end his like. “Derek,” she says, caressing his cheek. “You go.”

In the final moments, which are guaranteed to leave you a blubbering mess, she stands by her husband’s side reminiscing on all of the good times, as his pulse stops.

The episode is the first Rhimes has penned since the Season 8 finale, another emotional episode which saw us bid goodbye to series regulars Chyler Leigh (Lexie) and Kim Raver (Teddy) — you can guarantee it’s always going to be a big one when Shonda’s on it!

Dempsey, who has been on the show from the very beginning, still has a year remaining on his contract. He and Ellen Pompeo (Meredith) both signed two-year deals in January 2014 that would have kept the couple together on Grey’s through the 2015-16 season. So, all that’s left to ask is… WHY?

The current Minister for Agriculture, Akinwumi Adesina may be one of the few persons in the cabinet of President Goodluck Jonathan to retain his position after May 29, ExpressNG can report.

This is just as impeccable sources within the presidency hinted that Adesina and the president-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari had a close doors meeting that last for several hours in an undisclosed venue during the weekend in Abuja.

According to the source, Adesina who is already dubbed as one of the active ministers in the Jonathan’s cabinet has been enjoying a close relationship with the incoming president lately, hence his support for his candidacy as the next president of the African Development Bank.

Gen. Buhari was recently quoted as saying that: “Dr. Adesina has a proven track record in a career that predates his position as Nigeria’s Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development.”

He explained that Adesina had years of experience of working in francophone and anglophone countries, and had a passion to help eradicate poverty in Africa by reducing unemployment and inequality among African youth.

A source confidently informed this reporter that Gen. Buhari has been advised to retain Adesina as one of his ministers owing to his huge experience and intelligence.

The police command in Epe area of Lagos have killed a suspected kidnapper, Niyi Omosola in Lagos.
Reports have it that the kidnapper, Omosola was shot dead during a rescue operation by the police to free the kidnapping victim, identified simply as Kudirat.
It was gathered that Omosola, while collecting the ransom, sighted the police and decided to escape on a motorcycle when the operatives fired him.
Omosola, who hails from Ondo State, allegedly led a gang which kidnapped the woman in the Elemoro, Ajah area.
The Sixty-two-year-old woman was reportedly abducted by the gang on Thursday, April 16, at about 7pm.
It was discovered that Kudirat, a businesswoman, was inspecting the construction work at a petrol station she owned in the area when the kidnappers swooped on her and took her away.
It was gathered that the gang later contacted the family and demanded a ransom of N50m. However, after negotiation, our correspondent learnt that the the gang and the family agreed to a ransom of N3m.
Report says Kudirat’s brother, who had been communicating with the gang, took the ransom to an agreed hideout in the Epe area.
However, a team of operatives led by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad Commander, Abba Kyari, was said to have trailed Kudirat’s brother to the hideout.
A police source said Omosola, while collecting the ransom, initially opened fire when he sighted the police.
He added that when the kingpin saw that he was outnumbered, he tried to escape on a motorcycle, leaving the policemen with no choice than to fire him.
He said, “The kidnappers are a notorious gang. They had conducted several operations in the area. In the latest incident, they demanded N50m initially, but when the family could not produce the amount, they finally agreed to N3m. They also arranged where the place of meeting would be in the Epe area.
“The police trailed the brother, who was taking the money to Epe, where Omosola was waiting. Immediately he collected the ransom, he suspected that policemen were around and he began to shoot sporadically.

Less than few hours after Emma Nyra swore on TV that she never dated Ubi Franklin, her Triple MG record label boss, the latter has finally come out to clear the air.

Ubi Franklin finally admitted dating his former artiste to The CableNG in a revelation that may not surprise many. According to the respected A&R personnel, the relationship didn’t work because business was clashing with romance.

He puts it succinctly, “I was dating Emma Nyra and the relationship didn’t go as I thought it should have gone. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disclaimed the speculations making the rounds on social media that the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has secretly penned down members of his cabinet.

The online report also claimed that the APC has zoned its offices under the incoming Buhari’s Administration.

However, the party in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, distanced itself from the list, asserting that there is no truth in the story.

According to the party, “No appointments have been made and no offices have been zoned. The main concern of our party at the moment is to ensure a smooth transition and to hit the ground running, in the overall interest of the long-suffering people of Nigeria.

“At the appropriate time, Nigerians will be informed of the appointments made and the offices zoned,” APC said.
