And you think the key to unlock that is pace?
Yes. It will definitely open up Swedish defence.

They need to try shot too

Pace with the way the swedishs choked their defence? There is no nothing pace can do for the germans in this match
Iceland choked their defence, what happened at last? Forget that defence choking thing, if your attack is good the nonsense defense will open by force. It took Brazil almost 90mins to realise that slow attack pattern is dead on arrival in their last match.
Sports › Re: Germany Vs Sweden: World Cup (2 - 1) - Final by Gucciboss: 7:51pm On Jun 23, 2018
They flaw in German attack is telling on their defence. They are using their midfield to cover the attacking lapses thereby reducing the strength of their defence.

it's not actually just that the swedish are defending very well
The German attack is not that good. They have no pace
Take a look at swede attack you will understand.

I said it earlier that pattern of this current German team is dead on arrival.

I really don't see the point of this thread!

You guys realise there are some on here who are actually abusing Iheanacho with that quip that he would have 'missed it like Yakubu', yet you all laugh along like moro'ns!

What if Iheanacho views this thread, what do you think it will do for his confidence in the run up to the Argentina game?

So you expected him to stand there with hands on hips without asking for the ball? Is there any striker that would behave differently in such a scenario?

It's quite subtle, but i detect a slight undercurrent of bigotry and tribalism from the OP and some of the responses on this thread!

Carry on with your 'fun'!
Don't stress yourself too much with what you read here. Those guys on pitch are professional that have grown past all these petty nairaland tribalism.

One of the reason Nigeria could attack well is because Kelechi does smart things with the ball much quicker than Ighalo does. Trust me his presence had an immense impact though he has not yet contributed individually.
This your comment is contradictory. How can "his presence had mmense impact" yet he has "not contributed individually"?

What individual contribution can he make again?

MENTORCH:
Yeah that’s what I was saying, some of the players were nervous. It was even after Musa scored they started putting more pressure.
Exactly.
I also think that what killed our first match was settling for less. They should do away with that "we can manage draw approach" it is always written all over their game plan. Nigeria was once a big name in football let them not destroy that fear that other teams have about us. That fear of playing "a big team" works wonders in football.

like dis
From the picture, he's actually in a better position to score that goal than Musa that has used up his energy from running and dribbling the defender. But thank God he finally did great with the ball.

kelechi won the game for Nigeria yesterday, was his superb link up with the midfielders and moses that led to the goal. aside from him omeruo and tyronne were also great. against Argentina will be a different ball game, nigerian players don't close opposition players down early enough allowing them space to make key passes, if such happens against Messi, it will be very catastrophic
I thought I'm the only one that observed that too. Even when they go for marking, they are always trailing the opponents from back.

Anyway, I was impressed by their sudden change of attitude in second half. I hope they continue like that.

Yeah...that's what I was saying,as if someone is holding them back not to be confident and play like they want a result.

Only Musa has been confident both in marking and dribble.

The other guy we are missing now is Osaze Odenwegwe...the guy can run with ball and like counter games...only God knows those responsible for his down fall.
I thought he (Osaze) has retired?

Anyway, the thing is that if u are slow in attack, you have to rely on luck (probably a blunder from your opponent) to score. Germany tried it they failed, Argentina tried it in the first game they failed too even Brazil. Sometimes you just need to shoot outside eighteen yard box to send a serious message to your opponent. Nigeria tried it in second half it worked. If you are waiting to dribble your way into your opponent's net, you are on a long thing these days. Football is changing, some things are no longer that easy to do.
