This link is for those that has been learning German but still don't understand the pronunciation rules. The pronunciation is computerized like duolingo but far better. And this is how it works, when you click on the link, you will see a space beside English vs German. Write the English word in the space and click search icon which is just below the space bar. Scroll down a little bit to see the result There is a speaker symbol beside the space bar.. Click on it to know how it is being pronounced. Try and listen for many times and practice afterwards. Another advantage of using this link is that you will see how each word are used in a sentence Here is the link Prost. |
![]() This is a brief discussion about my favorite applications to give an idea of my thoughts on duolingo. Language learning application : DW (Deutsche Welle) This is by far the best learning application for German language. The well structured German language online course is managed by DW. The application contains many useful resources to learn German and also, placement test to know your German level. # Language learning application : BUSUU This is one of my favorite language learning applications. It is better than duolingo when it comes to listening skills, when it comes to writing, and when it comes to reading. It also provides more opportunities for engagement with others. The vocabularly is presented in a way that context learning is much easier. So, in this way, i will say busuu, DW and duolingo can sometimes be a nice compliment. Another good application is DEUTSCHTRAINER A1-APP The app combines listening, reading and writing and helps you practice basic vocabulary. It is available for free for iOS and Android. Here are some websites where you can learn German DW Nancy thuleen Germanpod101 BBC german Collection of useful learning materials in one place Learn German easily It is very important to practice speaking if you learn on your own. Even if you don't have enough time, have a short practice periods throughout the week. As my mentor always say wiederholung. ist. der. Schlüsselfaktor. im. Lernprozess. which means repetition is the key factor in learning process. cc: amikable97 Prost. |
If you are a beginner (Anfänger) in German language and you are using duolingo, i would advise you to stop because because the audio on duolingo is horrible and computer generated. Duolingo uses one voice, and it is almost impossible to understand as it is computer generated. In learning a language, you really need multiple voices or you're not going to develop language listening skills of any use. The apps do simplification of complex things like verb conjugation in ways that feel wrong. It treats he/she/you (plural)/you (singular)/I/they as the same in cases like the one with chose the right word. It forces you to chose three options and you have to remember what verb tense you're in. In essence, out of the 4 major components of a language, duolingo teaches you only one and a half. It provides no context to your life and does not provide you with a real usable vocabularly. It is not great. Some pronunciation in duolingo are even wrong like Orange for example That said, dolingo can be great when used in conjunction with other applications (busuu and mondly) immersion, language learning classes (like germanpod101) and other language learning approaches. Chuukwudi:Chef, es. ist. verboten. Deutsch. auf. Nairaland. zu. schreiben. ![]() To your request, sorry but i won't be able to help because of the following reasons 1) I'm not a German native 2) I'm still in the university studying a tough course and i would be very busy in few days time because we have resumed already. Moreover, i haven't practiced German for some weeks now, all because of school 3) I don't even know my German level sef. I make mistakes alot. There was a time when i wrote gut. das. zu. hören to ottersberger. He corrected me by saying es freut. mich. das. zu. hören. rs172:As Sassy92 clearly pointed out, Ausbildung is like apprenticeship and it's not easy to get in developed countries because they are well paid, so their citizens rush into it. The chance of a non-permanent resident getting Ausbildung is slim Also, you can't get an Ausbildung if your German level is not up to at least B1 and it depends on the kind of Ausbildung you are looking for.
