Wonder have i done my best

Wonder have i done my best for jesus
Who died upon the cruel tree
To think of his great sacrifice at calvary !
I know my lord expects the best from me

Refrain

How many are the lost that i have lifted ?
How many are the chained have helped to free ?
I wonder, have i done my best for Jesus
When he has done so much for me ?

The hours that i have wasted are so many
The hours i've spent for christ so few
Because of all my lack of love for Jesus
I wonder if his heart is breaking too.

I wonder have i cared enough for others
Or have i let them die alone
i might have helped a wanderer to the saviour,
The seed of precious life i might have sown

No longer will i stay within the valley
I'll climb to mountain heights above
The world is dying now for want of someone
To tell them of the saviour's matchless love.

OLAADEGBU:
When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed

1. When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

2. Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.

3. When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold.
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your Lord on high.

4. So amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

Many don't agree that it was "a normal child bearing experience", especially when taking the actual conception into consideration.

If ut ain't normal thé bible would have a said so

And despite God being a jealous God who refuses to share, that consideration is easily waived where Jesus, a mortal, and the holy spirit is concerned, so I see no problem with further sharing "God's glory" with a quarternity that includes God's mother. After all, since the "I am a jealous God" rule has already been broken, twice, and the "graven image" rule too many times, what really does it matter if you're in for the pound?

As i Saïd hé Is triune, God consists of all three personalities, so the glory is still intact.

do you know Jesus never used the toilet in the Bible?
does that mean he never used the toilet throughout his life?

Mary gave birth to Jesus flesh and spirit. Jesus' flesh and spirit passed through Mary when he came to earth.
that makes Mary theokotos i.e God bearer.

she bore God.

Actually God as you know consists of the father the son and the holy ghost, hence, your claim will be flawless and true if the birthed all three of them.

Creating a thread with the intent to spur an argument on an issue of such delicateness, wouldn't help, because at the end no body gains in understanding, the highest you would get is that a person will acknowledge your 'combat' skills which will appeal only to his head but not to his spirit, as Paul said: 'i come to you not with words of wisdom or eloquence of speech, because you aren't save by those but by God's power and his spirit", if you feel they have a doctrinal issue, then correction should be done with love and by the spirit of God and not knowledge accumulated through biased and judgemental articles gotten off the internet, its like you going to preach to an atheist with excellent words without God's spirit, it would only be a waste of time and effort, remember love never fails, try to show 'em where they are wrong without any argumentative intent, that the person might hopefully see the light, you now see.

now you are assuming the Bible is true?
how are you sure that the Bible is true?

the Bible is in the hot seat here.

what if the whole of the Bible is a deception?
what if the old testament was put there to deceive people that god wanted to have a relationship with man?

the Bible is what is in dispute here.

what if the whole Bible is a forgery?

what if the whole act of god coming in human form was a deception to make you think god wants to have a relationship?

what if the actual god just sees us like toys for his amusement?

what if the actual god wanted us as slaves only and did not want any personal relationship like Christianity claims?

if the actual god just sees humans and slaves/objects, Christians could be crossing their boundaries by thinking they can have a personal relationship with him. they would be crossing their boundaries by putting themselves at a close level with him.
they would be crossing their boundaries by thinking they are more than slaves.

All claims here are bringing the physical POV into view, but what happens when you die. several people have received revelations from these God which have been seen in his relationship with several prophets both those who abused the authority given them. Since you have a vendetta against the bible I will bring u something else, if you look at various mythologies around the world(I.e those that recognise the existence of a supreme creator and not the Norse and Greek mythology) you'd discover a supreme creator who regularly sends his people help from time to time I.e until the Christ is preached to them. so how is this God uncaring.

The bible says that he who want to know/please God must believe that He is and that He Is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him-- Hebrews 11:6

but he looks into the future.

the Bible itself shows this.

that's how he gives prophecy to his prophets.

it is a given in the Bible that he looks into the future.

he already knows the future. he himself says this over and over again in the Bible.

Only in cases where there is impending doom, or a prophecy of good news that will restore hope to his people, and also most times they are usually declarations from persons of God which have to come to pass because they have been given authority

1. you are equating humans with god.

they aren't on the same level.

one is just human, the other possesses omnipotence and has knowledge of all things past present and future.

if I knew beforehand that a child I will give birth to would become a mass murderer... I would rather remain childless.

if I come over to your place with a wild dog I hundred percent knew was going to attack you at first sight, and the dog attacked.
if you knew that I knew that the would attack, won't you blame me?

why would god create us in the first place when he knew he would keep regretting it and keep destroying us again and again some on a large scale? why would he create what he knew would end in eternal torment caused by himself when that thing was inexistent in the first place?
he is like a father who gave birth to a child knowing fully well that the child will suffer throughout his life. why did he bring that child from inexistence if he knew?

why would he create the devil when he knew the devil would do everything he did? he could have left the devil in the state of inexistence.

God is omniscient and omnipotent which means he can do all, so it won't be implausible that he chooses not to look into the future do as to preserve the choice that he offered to his beings

how do you know Christianity isn't a deception?

SInce the old covenant God has always wanted to relate with his people which is evident all through the scriptures. and he isn't just an abstract being who is unperturbed about the welfare of his beings.

what if we are not supposed to know him personally but just submit to him like a slave to his Lord?

For God to come in human form and through love, died for his people it portrays live and the fact that our father cares about us.

what if Christianity was brought to deceive people to think they are more than slaves.
so they would go above their level and get into trouble?

Christians submit to the will of the father whilst following the steps if the son, and we don't/shouldn't abuse the privilege given to us( grace)

what if Christianity was like a deceiver that told a slave that he was a prince, and the slave believed him. then the slave thinking he was a prince went to sit at the same table with his master. then the master angrily deals with the slave for overstepping his boundaries?

How do Christians overstep their bounds

Jesus didn't work miracles because he can work miracles, he did them because of need, that's why the devil couldn't successfully tempt him.

please give me the verse
Religion / Re: How Do We Know There Is A God? by hadow(m): 10:25pm On Apr 05, 2018
sKeetz:

The following passage shows that slaves are clearly property to be bought and sold like livestock.

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

Okay this verse states that they aren't disallowed from buying bondsmen/maids, and they are an inheritance and that Fellow Israelites shouldn't be taken as maids...

Well I have a question if you are incapable of performing some jobs by yourself wouldn't you hire help, it's just like the employer-employee relationship we have today.
And considering that the Israelites were farmers and herdsmen wouldn't they need help. And need I remind you that the Israelites where taken captive and subjected to such treatment.

If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom. If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him. If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master. But the slave may plainly declare, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children. I would rather not go free.’ If he does this, his master must present him before God. Then his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will belong to his master forever. (Exodus 21:2-6 NLT)

This here portrays choice.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

This verse is for slaves as you said but have you thought that it might mean domestic help? as the KJV puts it as servant, which is a domestic staff hired for cooking and cleaning (Merriam Webster)

You seem to have forgotten the story if Philemon and onesimous, if you haven't read it please endeavour to.

This bible verses are just for slavery alone. There are more sickening verses which support other heinous crimes against humanity.

Please I'd like to have more.

God good? Old testament god or the new testament god?

Both

You mean the same old testament where he killed and afflicted the Egyptians? The same old testament where in hardened the heart of Pharoah and still punished him for something he (ie Pharaoh) wasn't in control of?

All I would say to that is is a translation issue, try reading those verses in NKJV and the Message bible.

You mean the old testament where God roasted babies?

This is poppycock, what do you read?

Are these the relationships and good deeds of a god you speak of?

I have dealt with this

Ohh. You mean the new testament god where God masterminded everything by using Judas to betray jesus so as to fulfil his prophecy?

Not quite, there is something called fate and this is how/why the old prophets knew Jesus would be betrayed, and also choice
Deuteronomy 30:11-20

À god of the new testament that says "you either serve him or perish in hell?"

This is called rebellion and as I said before choice and I advise u like moses did choose life.

With the above lists, im inclined to believe your god ain't evil.

have a rethink

Lol, this is funny.

So what you are saying is that one should take whatever the bible says in good faith no matter how ridiculous it sounds?

And what historical and archaeological backing gives credence to the bible? Stories in the bible such as the garden of eden, the great flood and noah's has been found to be just myths and lacking any empirical evidence to prove them. The bible is a masterpiece of literature just like several other books but it also has it share of flaws and hence cannot be inspired by infallible God.

Is it not the same bible that supports slavery, racism, genocide, infanticide, rape, misogyny? undecided

please for the last paragraph please tell me where there are in the Bible.

So the works of Solomon, teachings of Jesus, prophecies of the prophets are just works of literature?

God could be all evil and stuff. he could be a cruel dictator who enjoys misery and demand human sacrifice... he could be an omnipotent Hitler. an entity who does as he pleases because he is unquestionable.

what makes us think God is holy and good? the definition of God I'm familiar with is: supreme all powerful creator of the universe. nothing to say if he is good or bad. last time I checked, you don't need to be good in order to be supreme or creator.

what if the creator of the universe is actually evil?

You have a point, but when you cultivate a relationship with this God , you'd realise that he is good, if you take time to read the old testament, you would notice his relationship with the Israelites and how he even extended his mercy to the people of Assyria amongst others, can that God be evil?

in the new testament we read about he sending his son to save us, will an evil God do that?
