Wii U Production Ends Worldwide |
A few days ago, we reported on how EA community manager Daniel Lingen hinted at the potential release for a new entry in the popular Skate franchise. He did this by simply sending out a cryptic tweet that just had the words “#Skate4.” Understandably enough, the people that have been waiting for a new Skate game for nearly seven years now became excited. Well today EA is putting a stop to that anticipation as they confirm that Skate 4 is currently not in development. |

Nintendo has released its hardware sales for the last nine months, and although the Wii U struggled, the 3DS improved its sales figures year-on-year. 3DS hardware sales for the nine months ending December 31, 2016 totalled 6.45 million, which Nintendo says is a 10 percent increase compared to the same period in 2015. Wii U, on the other hand, sold 760,000 units in that time--a 75 percent decrease compared to 2015. Nintendo did say these sales "conformed to our expectations," however. |

On January 27, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 7
shipped 2.5 million copies to retailers following the game's
launch on January 24. The publisher said the horror game
was off to a "solid start," but it appears not everyone is
impressed with the game's commercial results so far. As you can see in the image below from Bloomberg's Gearoid Reidy ( via PCGamesN), Capcom's share value has fallen since the 2.5 million figure was announced. Shares of Capcom on the Tokyo Stock Exchange ended today, January 30, down by more than 3 percent. |
