PoliticsUN Wants FG To Arrest AREWA Youth Leaders Over Quit Notice And Hate Songs by HALLOWED(op): 8:38am On Aug 26, 2017
By Omeiza Ajayi The United Nations has called for the arrest and prosecution of a coalition of northern groups which had on June 6 issued a “quit notice” to Igbo living in the northern part of the Nigeria.

Though, the coalition had on Thursday announced the withdrawal of the notice, it however promised to pursue its other listed demands up to the United Nations. Part of the demands is that the government labels the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB as a terrorist organization and the immediate arrest of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu as well as the conduct of a referendum to allow the Igbos have their “Republic of Biafra”. However, in a statement issued Friday in Geneva, three UN experts urged the federal government to also take immediate steps to arrest those behind a song that seeks to disparage the Igbos. The experts are Mr. Mutuma Ruteere, Special Rapporteur on Contemporary forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and related Intolerance; Mr. Fernand de Varennes, Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues, and Ms. Anastasia Crickley, Chairperson of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

“We are gravely concerned about this proliferation of hate messages and incitement to violence against the Igbo and their property, especially considering the previous history of such violence,” the experts said. “The Government must be vigilant, as hate speech and incitement can endanger social cohesion and threaten peace by deepening the existing tensions between Nigeria’s ethnic communities.” The ultimatum was issued on June 6 during a press briefing by the coalition. It had asked the Igbos to vacate the region on or before October 1. However, “mindful of the concerns generated by the clause in the Kaduna declaration that advised the Biafran Igbo to relocate from northern Nigeria and for northerners in the South East to do likewise, and our commitment to the unity of our dear country…and as a consequence of these vigorous engagements and as cultured people with a tradition of respect for our national values, leaders and elders, we are today pleased to announce the immediate suspension of the relocation clause otherwise referred to as the quit notice from the Kaduna Declaration”, the CNG had said in a speech read by its spokesman, Abdulaziz Suleiman on Thursday. But the human rights experts noted that some local and national figures, as well as some media representatives, had publicly denounced any form of hate speech and incitement, but said other officials still needed to follow suit. “We are deeply concerned that some prominent local leaders and elders have not condemned the ultimatum, hate speech and the perpetrators,” the experts stressed. “We call on the Government, media and civil society representatives, and local and religious leaders, to reject and condemn hate speech and incitement to violence unequivocally and in the strongest possible terms.”

The UN experts said any incidents of hate speech and incitement to violence had to be investigated and the perpetrators prosecuted and punished. “This includes the people behind the ultimatum and those responsible for the creation, publication and circulation of the hate song and audio message,” they added. Quit Notice withdrawal, not Enough -Atiku On his part, former Vice President and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, Atiku Abubakar has commended the Coalition of Northern Groups for rescinding the quit notice, but said the group must drop all its other demands if reconciliation must be total. The former Vice President said in a statement by his media office in Abuja on August 25, 2017 that “at last, good judgment has prevailed.” He however appealed to the Coalition of Northern Groups to go the whole hog and drop any other condition given to people of Igbo origin living in Northern Nigeria or anywhere else in the nation. “Reconciliation must be total or else it is pyrrhic”, Atiku said. In the spirit of this rapprochement, the Waziri Adamawa also calls on other ethnic groupings that might have issued counter quit notices to accept this olive branch and rescind whatever notices or withdraw whatever statements they may have made. The former Vice President also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his national broadcast condemning such developments and urged other elders and elder-statesmen around the nation to likewise add their voices to the condemnation of evil and henceforth refrain from making statements that undermine Nigeria’s unity.

We can’t arrest Arewa Youths -FG

However, the Federal Government has explained why it cannot arrest members of the coalition, saying the group had already stated that they were misquoted by the media (not Saturday Vanguard). According to the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau; “The group that called themselves coalition of Arewa Associations that held a press conference in Kaduna where they gave October 1 ultimatum to the Igbos to quit the north as a response to what they termed as issue of separatist agenda of the IPOB and claim that there are lots of incitement from the Igbos against the northerners to which the Kaduna State governor responded that they should be arrested for what they reported. “Of course they later claimed that the media quoted them out of context. I am very much aware that the DSS invited all of them, held a meeting with them to which they made a statement to the effect that what was reported in the media was not what they said. “They further wrote to the acting President indicating that they did not make inciting statement as to the issue of violence or forceful ejection of the Igbos in the north. However, it was on the basis of that, the northern elders called them to also reaffirm from them that what was reported is not exactly what they meant”.

I use Nokia Lumia 1520. I have been using the phone for a little over 2 years now. It is still working but it often displays shaky screen and most at times it would be so severe that I won't be able to do anything with it. I would hibernate it and open it again to work normally but the problem reoccurs very often and it is very frustrating.

What should I do about it?

PoliticsBuratai Bought Second Dubai Property As The COAS- SR by HALLOWED(op): 7:58am On Jun 28, 2016
General Buratai Bought Second Dubai Property Days After Appointment As Chief Of Army Staff

General Tukur Yusuf Buratai bought a second choice property in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, days after his appointment as Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), an investigation by SaharaReporters has revealed. As this news website exclusively revealed last week, General Buratai and his two wives in 2013 paid the sum of 1,498,534.00 AED (N120 million/$419,000) for the first property, Project TFG Marina Hotel Unit 2711. Sale documents indicated that the first property was handed over to the Buratais on January 13, 2013.

On July 13, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed General Buratai as Chief of Army Staff. Our investigations show that, within 11 days of his appointment, the general was making arrangements for the purchase of a second property from the same company in Dubai. Our investigators obtained evidence that, between July 24 and August 17, 2015, General Buratai paid a total sum of N42.2 million into TFG Sigma 111’s account in Nigeria (Skye Bank 1770380452).

Evidence exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters reveal that General Buratai made N10 million payments on July 24 and August 7 respectively. Three days later, another N10 million was paid into the real estate firm’s account, The phone number on the Skye Bank teller is 08033349740 Saharareporters investigations shows that it belonged to a Nigerian Army Major Emmanuel G. Adegbola of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps (N/10808). On August 17, 2015, the Chief of Army Staff paid the sum of N3,270,000 into the account.
Our sources within the Army disclosed that the lodgments came from Army funds stolen and diverted by General Buratai. They explained that the diverted monies were taken from funds budgeted for the feeding, medical care and payment of allowances of soldiers fighting the war against Islamist insurgents in Nigeria’s northeast zone.

Our sources also stated that the funds for General Buratai’s first Dubai property came from a contract awarded for the supply of vehicles and motorcycles to the Army. They asserted that General Buratai had cornered the contract in his days as Director of Procurement at the Army Headquarters, using a front identified as Usman Gamawa. “The contract was awarded for the purchase of new vehicles, but Alhaji Gamawa's Baggash Investment Limited bought second-hand vehicles and motorcycles from Niger Republic for the use of soldiers,” said one source. He said the purchase of substandard vehicles exposed troops engaged counter-insurgency operations to heightened danger, made them vulnerable to attacks by Boko Haram insurgents, and reduced their effectiveness.

Army sources disclosed that, on arrival in Nigeria, the vehicles and motorcycles supplied by General Buratai’s front, Mr. Gamawa, were taken for refurbishment at Mogadishu Cantonment under the supervision of one Sergeant Dandan Garba.
Angered by the deplorable state of the vehicles and motorcycles, a group known as Concerned Soldiers and Officers From The Northeast petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari to demand an investigation into the financial malfeasance perpetrated by General Buratai. A member of the group told SaharaReporters that they want President Buhari to ask General Buratai to explain where he got money for his various assets, including the real estate in Dubai. He said the COAS also owns a huge industrial-scale farm, Tukur and Tukur Farm Limited, on the Abuja-Keffi Expressway. “The farm is currently a huge construction site, featuring a tarred road, a zoo, a guesthouse, chalets, a restaurant, a cinema hall, a mini-stadium and other leisure facilities,” said the source, adding that some of the equipment on the site belongs to the Army.

In a statement issued last Friday, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, acting Director of Army Public Relations, claimed that General Buratai and his family own two properties in Dubai that were paid for in installments through personal savings. But Colonel Usman’s claim that the two homes were bought three years ago is at odds with purchase documents seen by SaharaReporters. Colonel Usman also stated that General Buratai was a victim of a campaign of calumny.

Purchase documents for General Buratai’s first property in Dubai showed that the COAS and his wives paid for Project Marina Hotel Unit 2711 in one lump, instead of by installments. Their single payment earned them what the sellers, Sigma 111, called “incentives, promotions and early payment bonus.” Owing to the lump payment, the sellers shaved off AED 43,466 from the AED 1,542,000 that was the asking price for the property. General Buratai paid AED 1,498,534 for the first property.

The cash lodgments into Sigma 111 Skye Bank account also suggested that General Buratai did not buy the second property three years ago, as Colonel Usman claimed. The dates of the payment showed that money started gushing into the account eleven days after Buratai’s appointment as Chief of Army Staff.

Colonel Usman also claimed that General Buratai had always declared the two properties as parts of his assets. But such claims are hardly cast-iron proof of fidelity to the laws on declaration of assets. Public officials regularly claim to own assets they have not bought. Similarly, Colonel Usman claimed that General Buratai was never a Director of Procurement at the Defense Headquarters. Yet, evidence from the website of Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) proves the military spokesman wrong. According to the site bpp.gov.ng, General Buratai attended the 2014 Defense Headquarters Procurement Seminar as the Director of Procurement.

The website quoted General Buratai as stating at the seminar, “It is our hope that at the end of the seminar, we would all be better informed about public procurement procedures and work towards the emergence of an enhanced Defense Procurement Procedure for the Armed Forces of Nigeria.”

Several retired and serving Army officers told SaharaReporters that General Buratai seemed to be getting away with his financial misdeeds because of a growing culture of corruption in the armed forces. They point to the case of Major-General A.B. Abubakar, the current Chief of Administration at the Army Headquarters. According to two sources, General Abubakar was never sanctioned after he reportedly misappropriated huge sums meant for the equipping and training of re-absorbed soldiers based in Kontagora, Niger State. Another military source cited Brigadier-General Momoh of the Department of Logistics, Army Headquarters who reportedly diverted millions of the Army’s funds to his private account. “His only punishment was redeployment to the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) of the Nigerian Army,” said the source.

Yet another military source drew attention to the case of one Colonel Jega, who reportedly placed 101st at the Defense College exams. Yet, the colonel got preferential treatment and was sent to the Defense College in Bangladesh, ahead of those who performed much better than he. “Some of those who did better in the exams were even retired,” our source said.

PoliticsRe: Photos From Ministry Of Finance Workers Protest Demanding Adeosun’s Removal by HALLOWED: 7:17pm On Jun 20, 2016
Fair is fair, I do not see anything wrong in paying allowances to public workers. That is what is obtainable internationally. If the Minister can collect his/her allowance why shouldn't the other cadres in the ministry collect? That is double standard and means to instigate chaos in the ministry. If the ministry feels that allowances are too much, they can review them or if they mean to stop paying allowances it should be general. Not that Oga will collect and the people Working with him will be left empty handed.
Again, I do not see the reason why people call it illegal as it was paid by the last administration. The post says it was not included in the budget that is why it is illegal, yet it is the minister who receives hers that removed that of the workers. Is that not injustice?

How Obasanjo’s Govt Looted Abacha Loot

By Dele Sobowale
“Justice Mohammad Idris of a Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered President Muhammadu Buhari to hold all successive administrations since the return to civil rule in 1999 to account on the spending of the recovered loot” – a national newspaper. Are you aware that in addition to the four refineries in Nigeria – Portharcourt I and II, Warri and Kaduna, this country also had a 30 per cent interest in West African Refinery, Sierra Leone which was handed over to President Obasanjo’s government in 1999? Are you also aware that has Obasanjo so far failed to account for that national assets and its disposal, he was handed a list of assets forfeited by Abacha to the Federal Government on May 26, 1999 – in the last decree –Decree No. 53 – which was the last signed by General Abdulsalami Abubakar as Head of State, Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria? Are you also aware that other Abacha loot, returned between 1999 and May 2007, when Obasanjo was forced to step aside, remain unaccounted for and might have been re-looted? Prepare yourself for a shock – if it is still possible to be shocked in Nigeria by anything done by leaders of the PDP who had access to the corridors of power – especially the self-righteous Obasanjo. His administration established the template for looting Abacha loot. But, permit first a diversion – a necessary one. Obasanjo had since made a caustic comment about the court order. He called Justice Idris “stupid” for daring to ask Buhari to ask Obasanjo to account for OUR money and other assets. That shows Obasanjo in his true colours. A honest man if asked to account for other peoples property which he held in trust does not resort to abuse. He would open the records for all to see that he had integrity. But, not Obasanjo. It is in his character. Back on April 8, 2012, three individuals who knew Baba Iyabo better than most Nigerians had the following to say about the man. First, former Senate President Ken Nnamani: “He personally authorized the disbursement of N50m each for 109 Senators, as well as other sums of money, which amounted to an excess of N8bn to pass the third term bill into law.” Then, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila: “He spent over N10bn on the agenda. His aides came to me to solicit support for third term. He also attempted to enlist the support of a former US President, Mr Bush, for the project, but it failed.” Finally, read what Honourable Halims Agoda had to say. “It was Obasanjo’s personal agenda. He sought the support of the National Assembly, but it was thrown out..”. In the front page report of a national newspaper on the day under reference, titled “Obasanjo a joker, liar, he was behind third term – Nnamani, others”, Nigerians and the entire world were presented with the man Obasanjo. From what Nnamani alleged, he was involved in bribery and corruption – spending funds whose sources were undisclosed. Readers will begin to get an idea of where the money came from by reading my book – PDP: CORRUPTION INCORPORATED. Obasanjo created the PDP as we know it today. Jonathan just took the party to the next level. Now, let us examine some indisputable evidence to support Justice Idris’ call on Buhari to ask Obasanjo and others to account for our resources. Please notice the word “resources” because what is missing is more than money – as will soon be demonstrated shortly. Decree No 53, as earlier stated was the last decree signed by General Abubakar, who after it was placed in the Gazette, wanted it withdrawn for reasons still unknown. A desperate but failed effort was made to retrieve all the copies. Consequently, few copies of the Decree are in existence and most people are not aware of it. Among the few is available at Unijankara kept under lock and key. Below however is the summary of all the assets forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria under the FORFEITURE OF ASSETS, ETC. (CERTAIN PERSONS) DECREE 1999. Properties/Assets Belonging To Late General Sani Abacha. Plot 135(A6), House No. 12, Zaire Crescent, Maitama; Plot 574 (A4), Yakubu Gowon Crescent near ECOWAS Secretariat, Asokoro; Plot 2824 (A6), Block No. 17, along Danube Street, Maitama; Plot 650 (A6), Rhine Street, Maitama; Plot 1487 (A4), Justice Mamman Nasir Street; Plot 2480 (A6) Alvan Ikoku Street, Maitama; Plot 636 Adeyemo Alakija Street, Victoria Island (Cowry House). Finally, 30 per cent shares valued at $420,000 USD, in West African Refinery, Sierra Leone (Purchased from UNIPETROL). In addition to the properties listed there were the following cash items: $625,263,187.19; 75,306,886.93 pounds sterling and N100,000,000. In those days with the US dollar exchanging for N130 per dollar and a pound fetching N250, the total Abacha loot alone Abubakar handed to Obasanjo’s government was about N100 billion. That was just from the first set of loot found in Nigeria. Wait util next week to find out how much was forfeited by Abacha’s National Security Adviser, Ismaila Gwarzo, Mohammed Abacha, Abdulkadir Abacha, Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu and Chief Tony Ani. Then you will begin to understand why Obasanjo does not want a probe of the Abacha loot….. NEXT WEEK: “If he [Obasanjo] is claiming that he never initiated the idea, who then initiated the release of more than N8bn from CBN coffers? Is it not the President that has access to CBN vaults?” Senate President, Ken Nnamani. Raiding CBN by Presidents pre-dated Jonathan. Baba started the civilian version in 1999.

Cameroon Troops Raid Nigerian Villages, Kill 150 Villagers in the North East.

Nigerian refugees have said that Cameroonian troops crossed the border into Nigeria, killed about 150 villagers, burned their huts and forced them to flee.

cameroon-nigeria-unrest
Cameroon troops have allegedly attacked a Nigerian village, killing over 150 villagers.

The refugees said on Tuesday, December 8 that they had to walk for days before reaching a refugee center.

Mariamu Abubakar, a farmer, said Cameroonian soldiers on Monday, November 30, killed about 150 people in his village near Nigeria’s Banki border post.

Abubakar said that the troops raided and stole the villagers’ livestock and set their huts ablaze.

He was among 643 refugees who arrived at night on Monday, December 7, at Adamawa’s Fufore transit centre.

Soldiers who screened them told AFP that they came from Gamboru to Banki, a 150-kilometer stretch along the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

Earlier on Tuesday, December 8, Governor Bindow Jibrilla of Adamawa state accused Cameroon of sending their nationals into his state disguised as refugees.

Jibrilla told pressmen that he did not know why it was happening but noted that there were thousands of people brought in under the refugee guise.

Cameroon’s government has denied the charges and the claims of an attack on residents in any Nigerian village.

Cameroon said its troops are fighting “in synergy” with Nigerian soldiers to carry out “coordinated operations” on several border villages around Lake Chad.

It claimed that as a result of the coordinated raids between Friday, November 27 and Sunday, November 29, at least 900 people held by Boko Haram extremists were freed.

Issa Tchiroma Bakary, the Cameroon government spokesman said: “We have a highly trained military that respect human rights.”

Despite claims that several thousands of Nigerian refugees have been returned to the country in recent months, Bakary denied Cameroon has forcefully evicted Nigerian refugees.

It remains unclear who attacked whom and why; however, it is “a real humanitarian disaster,” said David Miliband.

The visiting president of the New York-based International Rescue Committee said: “They are unable to go home because it’s not yet safe and because they fear for their lives.”

There is speculation that a major discovery of black gold within the borders could be the cause of the attack, as only last week, Nigeria’s petroleum minister said he expects a major oil discovery soon in the Lake Chad Basin.

The minister also suggested that the discovery is likely to fuel more border conflicts in the northeastern part of Nigeria that joins Chad, Cameroon and Niger.

Nigeria’s defence ministry affirmed a few days ago that no fewer than 900 hostages have been freed and 100 terrorists killed by the Cameroonian army in a Nigerian border operation. The army spokesman, Colonel Didier Badjeck, confirmed the development.

Cameroon Troops Raid Nigerian Villages, Kill 150 Villagers in the North East.

Nigerian refugees have said that Cameroonian troops crossed the border into Nigeria, killed about 150 villagers, burned their huts and forced them to flee.

PoliticsJonathan To Be Given International Honorary Award In Switzerland- Channels TV by HALLOWED(op): 7:29pm On Dec 08, 2015
Goodluck Jonathan

Channels TV reports that Jonathan has been selected for honour for his democratic credentials and upholding human rights in Africa.

The former president is to receive his honour on Thursday, January 21, at the group’s annual dinner in Geneva. He is the first African leader to be so honoured by the revered group of diplomats.

At the dinner gala night Jonathan will also deliver a keynote address.

Earlier in the year, a public policy organisation on African affairs, the Africa Political and Economic Strategic Center, recommended the ex-president for the Nobel Peace Prize.

According to the group, the peaceful way Jonathan conceded defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari in the general election deserves the attention of the Nobel Peace Prize committee.

“He may have not promoted fraternity between nations but he surely promotes fraternal peace among Nigerians by conceding power,” the group noted.

PoliticsRe: See What Nnamdi Kanu Said In 2012 When He Led A Biafran Protest In UK(Pic+ Video by HALLOWED: 6:19pm On Dec 08, 2015
You are dumb if you don't get it in your head that the cause for renewed agitations for Biafran independence is Buhari's exclusionism system of Government. I am yet to see the region that did not participate in Jonathan's appointment. How can a democratically elected president openly say he would give less considerations to the region that didn't give him much vote and unapologetically did so in prerogative appointments?
We all see the efforts Jonathan made to balance the political structure which gave every region sense of belonging in the Federation. Instead of holding on to it Buhari brought in division.
So the logic is if you do not want to include SE in the Government, Let them go. I support one Nigeria but Government should try to do the things that Will Unite us. Buhari is my President but he got it wrong there. Let truth be told. We can't grow if we continue playing politics with rancour.
PoliticsExposed:senator Bala Ibn Na’allah Once Stole Seized Drugs-ndlea by HALLOWED(op): 5:57pm On Dec 08, 2015
Following the calls for restriction of social media use in Nigeria by Senate and sponsored by Senator Bala Ibn Na’allah, more facts have emerged as to why such bill was sponsored.

It was gathered that Senator Bala Ibn Na’allah had been hounded by a social crusader group who have been calling for his recall from the Senate before the sponsoring of the bill.

In an apparent bid to stop his recall and in the long run, limit the flow of information regarding his past life, he sponsored the anti-social media bill.

A Northern Nigeria social crusader group, Citizens United for Peace and Stability (CUPS) organiation in London has accused Senator Bala Ibn Na’allah of being an ex-drug trafficker and is keen to gag the social media from exposing him further.

According to the group, he was arrested along with 9 others in 1993 for stealing about 270 kilograms of Heroin during the tenure of Mr. Baffa Jumare, who was the Executive Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in 1993.

Senator Bala was an Ex-NDLEA Commandant of C port in Apapa, Lagos. He and 9 others including the Special Assistant to the Chairman, stole the drugs at the headquarters of the NDLEA command, which was located at No. 2, Roxtone Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

They were detained and kept at Police CID Headquarters, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos. The case against Na’Allah and the others is still pending and has never been tried in a court of law due to corruption at the NDLEA.

To further worsen his situation, an unnamed very senior NDLEA official wrote CUPS and here is the message below

“I have read your post on Bala Ibn Na’Allah and his empty threats about your commitment to salvage Nigeria from corrupt public officials like Ibn Na’Allah.

As a lawyer, Bala should have known that the law has made provisions for defences to be adduced in court to persons standing trial for defamation of character. Actions of defamation cannot succeed in a court if it can be established that the statement made is factual and one of overriding public interest. On the first defence, presently in Nigeria the Freedom of Information Act has been passed into law. What this means is that the publisher can write to NDLEA, the former employer of the Senator to request for confirmation of the allegation against Na’Allah.

Secondly, it is a matter of overriding public interest for every Nigerian to expose corrupt and dishonest public officials.

The fact of the case against Ibn Na’Allah was that in 1993 one Joe Brown Akabueze who imported a large quantity of Heroin weighing 270 Kg into Nigeria through the Apapa Sea Port was apprehended by men of the NDLEA. The Senator was then the Area Commander of NDLEA Apapa Sea Port. Himself along with the then Special Assistant to the CCE NDLEA (Mr. Jerry Kundusi, a one time member of Adamawa House of Assembly, representing Numan Constituency) and others carted away with 12 parcels of the heroin seized from Joe Brown during the reign of AIG Bappa Jama’are, as CCE NDLEA.

The plot was actualised when the AIG was on an official trip to Egypt when Bala and his gang broke into the office and stole the 12 parcels weighing over12 Kg. This led to the removal of Jama’are as CCE NDLEA. He was a very honest man.

The then military regime inaugurated a committee headed by late General MM Bamaiyi with the mandate of investigating the case of the missing parcels. The evidence against Bala and others were overwhelming that the committee recommended their prosecution before the Miscellaneous Offences Tribunal. The gang was detained at the CID division at Alagbon before they were remanded in prison custody pending trial. They were then prosecuted.

The present CCE of NDLEA Ahmadu Giade was a member of the Bamaiyi Committee and will be glad to cooperate with you. I cannot say with accuracy how Bala and his gang got off the hook but will agree with you that they got their freedom through corruption. Thanks.”

According to CUPS, Senator Bala would be recalled from the Senate and to achieve that, they gave began the collection of signatures from his constituents.

In a press statement, the chairman of the group, Dr.Idris Ahmed, released the major steps to be taken.

For the avoidance of doubt, the process of recalling Senator BalaIbnNa’Allah from the Senate is well organised, structured, and transparent. The major steps involved are outlined below:

1. Community leaders at grass-roots level in Yauri and Zuru Senatorial District are sending an initial petition letter to Senator BalaIbnNa’Allah, in which all the allegations of wrongdoing labeled against him are detailed. This letter is copied to the INEC Chairman. Senator Bala is given two weeks to respond.

2. An independent committee made of distinguished scholars and lawyers on constitutional matters, ex-law enforcement agents, human rights activists and ex-politician is drafted from all parts of Nigeria to look into the allegations labeled against BalaIbnNa’Allah. The committee will guarantee that he is not witch-hunted by anyone.

3. Petition signatures are collected from at least 51% of the electorate who voted for BalaIbnNa’Allah during the last general election. Already 30,000 signatures have been collected. These signatures must be verifiable by INEC.

4. Within 90 days of collecting and verifying these signatures, INEC is obliged by law to organise a vote in Yauri and ZuruSenetorial District for the electorate to decide whether to recall BalaIbnNa’Allah from the Senate or not.

5. A simple majority of whatever number of people that turned up and voted against him during the recall voting is enough to seal the recall of BalaIbnNa’allah from the Senate.

Senator Bala has also been accused for going on rampage in his Kebbi South Senatorial District, harassing, intimidating, and unlawfully arresting activists collecting signatures for his recall.

I we continue to ask why should Burahi be blamed we must as well ask why Jonathan was blamed.

If we make reference to Jonathan's weakness to protect Buhari 's failure, that means there is no change as preached.

If we say it is no longer business as usual and things keep getting worse, that means it is business worse than usual.

If we shout Change and conditions regenerate, it means we priced and bought negative Change.

We went for Change but failed to ask whether negative or positive one before parting with our votes.
We have really been gulled again.
