Codeine is probably better taken separately if it must be taken

Where there is such a prescription
only a QUALIFIED pharmacist should fill the prescription and the amount should not exceed licensed daily limits
A patent medicine dealer cannot supply medicines that are by law POM ie Prescription ONLY MEDICINES

Public Health England is launching a review into the "growing problem" of prescription drug addiction.

NHS data suggest one in every 11 patients in England is being prescribed medication that could be addictive, or difficult to come off.

This includes sedatives, painkillers and antidepressants.

FYI Heroin and morphne are not BANNED either but that does not mean you can possess them UNLAWFULLY

That is the key word LAWFULNESS


The issues is not about chemists or pharmacists but about drugs being supplied and traded by unlicensed vendors in an unregulated market unlawfully.

We can go into details of what is lawful or not but recreational use of codeine or tramadol is NOT LAWWFUL in Nigeria.

Is codein an over the counter medicine in Nigeria?
Is Tramadol an OTC drug?

the "advantage' the south has is that alcohol is freely taken there unlike in the muslim north..but the guys in the muslim north are also humans who want a form of escapism from their own issues so since they cannot drink alcohol freely because of religous injunctions they have to seek other ways to gain relief
