emorse: The fact that its been they for so long doesn't make it right. Even worse is the fact that its still there only because of one man's selfish interest. That's more than enough reason for the "out cry" if you ask me.

you know what? I agree with you. My only major concern is that it all appears hypocritical (to me) that the 'people' now suddenly want that provision done away with by all means whereas it's bn there all this while and no (known) move was made.
If the senator hadn't moved for an amendment, we all would have bn going about our daily activities like that section didn't exist

There's a Child's Right Act in place (enforced in over 20states). The senators were not trying to set any law on Marriage Eligibility.

thanks and may you live long. People don't just get it. That provision has bn there all these years, why the sudden outcry. For the records, i'm not in support of child marriage or Yerima's opposition to the ammendment. But people are making it seem like d man sought to introduce child marriage.

@op- I've had mine done by simply going to their office. But i fear that it may not be accepted in ofices/banks when presented as a means of identification

my issue isn't even whether the light situation has improved or declined.
What caught my attention most in the interview after reading through is how the Minister answered the question on corruption.
Particular reference was made to the pardon granted Alams. It was only expected that she responded to that.
She, as far as i am, only glossed over the issue raised by the question.
She was asked on what her take was on the pardon granted amidst the alleged fight against corruption. But did she answer? Hell No!
