ChelseaDr:

Just relax, because only about 15-20% of people ttc fail to do so within the first year of marriage and this reduces to about 5% or less in the following year (this is not to say that your wife will not conceive within this first year of marriage, but just in case if it didn't happen so you won't be over worried) and this may be purely due to unexplained reasons.

I will still advise that both of you should not be anxious, just relax it will happen when you're not expecting it.

However, if your spouse is up to 35 or has any other medical conditions then I will suggest you guys go and see a gynaecologist for further evaluation, but if not then relax.
Cheers!!

Thank you for your advice, thank you for your time. We would work with your recommendations. God bless you

If it's blood test she did for the pregnancy then it's likely she is not pregnant.... But no need to panic!!!

For how long have you been TTC? If within a year then relax, cos' it will come. Like you and your spouse have been advised already, shun anxiety. I wish you luck.
Cheers!!

We have been trying for approximately 8months now, thank you for your response sir.

I'm so sorry baba Ejima. Your kids will come in torrents. However, this may not be it. The blood work would have shown it since she was three days late at the time she took it. A urine pt test done correctly would have shown it too.

Yours is the fourth baby I want for this Christmas. It will be a pleasure to know Santa dropped you and your wife baby dust too. Epele. It will end well.

Thank you for your kind words. God bless you

Why don't you go to another labouratory, a blood test is always the best for pregnancy. You said a brownish coloured fluid tricked and stopped, that could be spotting which is an early pregnancy sign or a lsign of a miscarriage.

Thank you ma, she had a pregnancy blood test yesterday which was negative, that's why we are panicky over the brownish discharge today, her period is 4days late today

Qmedspharma:

It's most likely to be hormonal imbalance due to stress, and blood shortage due to the presence of malaria and typhoid infection.
However, I'm of the opinion that you try another laboratory to run the test again to rule out pregnancy before they begin to load her with antibiotics and antimalaria drugs

Thank you bro, today she woke up feeling some discharge underneath, when we checked it was a brownish coloured fluid, that trickled briefly and stopped.
It got us more confused and worried embarassed
The negative pregnancy result from the hospital yesterday and today's discharge is confusing. Women with experience please help us.

One thing that prevents pregnancy that a lot of couples don't know is Anxiety.

Oga, free your mind and make love to your wife so that both of you will enjoy it.

You won't even know when she'll get pregnant

Would try sir, God bless you

Nairaland mbok, pardon my moniker na condition make crayfish bend.. wink wink
My wife and I have been trying to conceive, believing God for a baby for a while now , lately she has been feeling lazy, tired and excessively hungry, her period was due 3days ago we went to the clinic today for a comprehensive check up, blood test, pregnancy test and all, make I no lie I expected the doctor to congratulate me, next thing she was diagnosed of malaria and they prescribed drugs,,me I Had to hide my disappointment so she doesn't feel bad..
Her period is still not coming forth she is worried so am I.
I hear a pregnancy test can still show negative at the initial phase if so how long do we have to wait before conducting another test, if she is not pregnant why is her period delayed do we seek medical help for the delayed period or be hopeful there's a baby on the way..
Matured response only..

you and your wife are complicating the whole thing!, since you are not always in Lagos, take ur family to ur home state, you can develop ur home to ur Lagos state, my cousin lives in Aba but when you meet them you would think they are in London,as per extended family,if you give them arms length they won't bother you but she should be respectful. she should avoid too much familiarity.find a nice apartment, let her relocate and take the job.

Good morning nlanders.

I need your opinion on an issue, I am happily married with two kids I live in Lagos with my family. My wife a Ghanian had to quit her Job when the kids started coming now she got an offer to work in my state media house to practice broadcasting which has always been her dream job.

Now the issue is we are not set to relocate to my home state yet cos its not half as developed as lagos and my wife feels relocating to my home state would cause undue invasion in our privacy.

I barely stay in Nigeria cos of the nature of my job so its basically her and my extended family in the same state. What do you recommend...matured responses needed we dont want to jeopardize our happy home over negligence.
