Nairaland GeneralNigerian Lady Refuses To Visit A Guy At His House.. Then He Showed Her His... by hansome01(op): 11:12am On Sep 12, 2017
Ladies, is this you or nah? This conversation between a Nigerian guy and girl about their first date is currently going viral online causing a frenzy!

So this guy asks a lady to come to his house and have their first date there rather than go to the mall but the lady insists the latter.

The guy insists that since they both live a stone throw away, they don’t need to go farther – the lady then lays out her reasons why she can’t go to his house and she even offered to pay if they go to the mall, (this is her assuming the guy is too broke that’s why he’s choosing his condo).

The guy then assures her that he has no mischievious intentions but the lady is not seeing him as quite the gentleman and then things get heated quickly, with the girl stressing on the part that he maybe broke!

In an attempt to taunt her, the guy then shared a screenshot of his account balance (N2.9m) and says if he spends a hundred thousand on her, he won’t flinch.

Well, our dearie is not regular (in Speed Darlington’s voice) and she clapped back at his motive, showing that N3m or a hundred thousand can’t move her and I must say… We’re PROUD love!

Read their thread below and be thrilled:

PoliticsThe Afara-ukwu Army/ipob Clash; Beyond The Rhetorics. by hansome01(op): 8:59am On Sep 12, 2017
By Charles Ogbu

Yesterday's clash between men of the Nigerian army and members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) in Afara-ukwu, the hometown of the Biafran leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has further proven that indeed, for Nigeria as a country, the Colonial Masters left too early.

According to Abia state police chief, Leye Oyebade who spoke to Premium Times via phone, the military were parading a new Armoured Personnel Carrier and passed through Nnamdi Kanu's residence.

On the side of the Military, the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Major Oyegoke Gbadamosi, stated that troops of 145 Battalion were carrying out a "Show Of Force" near the residence of the IPOB leader when IPOB members blocked them and they fired shots in the air to disperse them

IPOB insists their leader's home was invaded by Nigerian soldiers leaving 3 of their members with gun shot injuries.

Beyond these claims and counter claims and regardless of the account you chose to believe, there are fundamental questions that must not just be asked but equally answered by those concerned.

And here are the questions:

What is the Nigerian Military doing on the streets of the Southeast which is adjudged the most peaceful region in the country?

Has the Military now replaced the police as law enforcement agency? The army has absolutely no business with unarmed peaceful agitators. Even in countries with voodoo democracies, routine law enforcement is the job of the police.

What manner of national army carries out "Show Of Force" by 6:30pm with armoured tanks in a rusty village in a region filled with tension and widespread perception that the military has been deployed with the sole intent to kill and maimhuh

Where is common sense in these?

Who deploys heavily armed soldiers against unarmed youths peacefully asking to be allowed to determine their future via a referendum?

If this was not a calculated attempt to provoke IPOB members so as to have a justification for mass murder, why would the army leave every other road and chose Nnamdi Kanu's residence to do "Show Of Force"??

Ironically,

This same Military is not doing "Show Of Force" with the boko haram terrorists who have killed thousands of Nigerians and displaced millions.

This same Military is not doing "Show Of Force" with the marauding fulani herdsmen who have acquired a reputation for killing and maiming non fulani-Muslim Nigerians and even going to Defence Headquarters to own up to it

Few days ago, about 28 innocent villagers were mercilessly slaughtered by fulani herdsmen with known faces, names and addresses in Plateau state.

Our almighty military with their armoured tanks and "Show Of Force" were no where to be found. Where is state-sanctioned violence when you most needed it??

Criminally funny enough, boko haram terrorists once rated the world deadliest terror group are currently enjoying a juicy amnesty package while fulani militants once rated the world 4th deadliest terror groups currently have a dedicated taskforce made up of these same Nigerian soldiers gifting them with 24/7 protection.

A govt that negotiates with terrorists from the same religion and region as the President but turns around to visit unarmed aggrieved youths from another religion and region with armoured tanks and "Show Of Force" is a rogue govt.

Quite frankly, there can be no argument that under President Muhammadu Buhari, the Tukur Buratai-led Nigerian army has almost completed its metamorphosis into a bunch of commonsensically bankrupt killing machine full of brawn but devoid of brain.

The fact that the Military appears oblivious of the fact that its invasion of civilian neighbourhood with tanks is a grave legal, moral and commonsensical anomaly is the greatest tragedy of it all. But in fairness to the soldiers, the fault is not entirely theirs. When you have a Commander-In-Chief who thinks its normal for his soldiers to kill hundredS of Shiite youths, women and children in Zaria just to make way for his army Chief, you'd be tempted to see the invasion of civilian space with tanks as nothing.

It does appear though that in Buhari, this country has the singular misfortune of being cursed with a president who seem very determined to escort her to Golgotta. The Daura born ex-soldier seems more committed to dissolving this country than a million Nnamdi Kanu.

Let me quickly leave this here with a piece of advise for those who think guns and tanks will stop this current Biafra agitation:

The best way of fuelling an agitation is by trying to suppress it.

As for those standing commonsense on its head in a desperate bid to justify this thuggery, I quite understand your plight. Ours is a broken soceity presided over by broken men. Being born a Nigerian and having to live in Nigeria with no means of having a first hand experience of how things are done in a civilized clime is one of the worst misfortune Mother Nature could gift anyone with.

Nairaland GeneralHISTORY MADE: Igboist Group Hits One Million+ Members On Facebook . by hansome01(op): 7:16pm On Sep 11, 2017
The Igboist manager Maria Ude Nwachi aka Afikpo Chic wrote on her timeline :

OH MY GOD!!! This is incredible. Pure feet. It is not easy. The largest Igbo only gathering online has hit ONE MILLION PLUS members today! Yours truly started Igboism on Facebook Nigeria through Ndi Igbo page, created in 2009; the then home of all Igbos online; which was regularly the number 1 page in Nigeria then too. In order to be able to organize ourselves properly, I created Igboist group in 2012, this group was ahead of its time. This is a pioneer group, as many other groups came from the source, which is Igboist. And it still remains ahead ahead ahead.

Igboist closed group was born; with the sole aim of bringing Igbos together under one roof in an a fitting atmosphere where we can interacted freely and come up with workable solutions for our criminally neglected Igbo land. A place where we can listen to each other, help each other with jobs, kindness, ETC. A place we can share information, news, a home where we can discuss hot button issues, pertinent matters and other pressing issues. It is also a home where rules are implemented to the letter. Thanks to the strict law against writing in shortword in Igboist, many now write in full, their diction, spelling and writing prowess has greatly improved. Some that used to be chronic shortworders now write like professors. And of course, you dare not cough in peace if you do not have at least one valid Igbo name in your name. If you were admitted in error and we sight you in the group, GONER is your freaking name. AEN (All English Named) intruders not welcomed at all. And many other rules that has instilled discipline in us all on the group.

At first, it was easier to find a needle in a haystack than to be admitted in Igboist, and that was because I was not yet ready for the task ahead of me, ahead of us all. To embark on such, one has to put certain structures on ground. TODAY I am ready, we are ready, we are good to go, we ready to bring all Igbo under one roof. BRING IT ON. IGBO BU OFU. IGBO LOVES THEMSELVES MORE THAN ANY OTHER ETHNIC GROUP ON EARTH, YES! QUOTE ME. Igboist group has proven this maxim over and over again but now we are going to double our effort and extend it to our land, a land so neglected, a land whose 1st elevens have abandoned. DEAR SWEETLAND, this will change, cry no more. Your 1st elevens are coming back to you were they belong to take care of you, make you happy and bring more people to you to keep you beautiful healthy and strong.

THE STATE OF NIGERIA: We are living in perilous times. Igbo man is an engendered specie in this nation being that he is the only one that continued to foolishly invest and build in any place he he finds a land in Nigeria unlike the other ethnic group who stopped such after the civil war. WE HAVE AN ANSWER TO THIS SELF-INFLICTED INJURY. STAY TUNED.

IGWEBUIKE is our legal & official name and is also our slogan. It was not by mistake. That name is a purposeful name. It is a name that is coming to pass now. We are now 1,000,000+ Igbos under one roof. There is strength in number. It is a cliche but an unshakable truism. Its expedient we the Igbos tinker a long term strategy of full integration to the mainstream of governance in this Nigerian state while we are a part of it. We need strategic conscious effort geared towards general well being of our people and our pained land. A serious one, one that failure to do it will attract penance. Our land cannot be allowed to die. Those helping to kill it has to face us. We have to put embargo and those embargo must be adhered to or there will be consequences as will be stipulated by you, yes, YOU. Oh you do not know your strength, oh you don't? You will see what you will do, I WILL sit in the corner and be smiling when you start roaring like a lion, taking a selfless stand and meaning it. That is what is called CONVICTION. CONVICTION. You the Igbo man, is the sole custodian of our culture. I am just a woman, I will provide the means but it is your fight. It is wholly your fight. Igboist women will help in every way we can to help you restore your land, your pride, your respect. You can do it, nnam ochie. We are together. I will stand by you. I will do as I preach and more. You will make your generations proud, you will leave a lasting legacy. LEGACY is richer than all the riches in the world. Legacy brings peace of mind and steady milk and honey.

SORRY IS THE NAME of anyone or group that won't let Igbo be. That won't let Igboland drink water and put cup down in peace. That won't let Igboland enjoy what other lands are enjoying in the nation. SORRY SORRY SORRY. Igwe Bu Ike; obu okwu, buru action, buru ilu, ma bukwara aha.

It has always been the largest Igbo only group, but now MILLION don enter the matter and it calls for serious CELEBRATION and introspection; in regards to governance across Igboland.

DEAR IGBO POLITICIAN, DO NOT TREAD ON US. DO NOT TREAD ON US. DO NOT TREAD ON IGBOLAND. YOUR DAYS OF BUYING AND INVESTING OUTSIDE IGBOLAND IS COMING TO A GRINDING HALT. YOUR DAYS OF LOOTING ONLY FOR YOURSELF AND FAMILY IS GOING TO BE A PAST TENSE. You think I'm kidding? You dey think; wetin this Afikpo woman dey talk, right? We can handle her, If you can handle me, can you handle IGWE, OHA? Oha ona esiri ofu onye nri? You think you have money and power right? And you can be as selfish as you damn well wish right? WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG. You will be humbled. Igwe bu ego, Igwe bu ike, mark it some where.

Am I communicating? Better get your act together. There is strength in number. There will be no hiding place for Igbo politicians looting, eating alone and impoverishing others soon. This is a message, use your tongue and count your teeth. AFIKPO has started a silent revolution in this nation by electing me, despite having zero structure. There will be more MARIAS soon. Just watch.

I want to thank the dedicated staff of Igboist group. They work so hard, and it's not like I am paying them so much. They work almost 24 hours a day in Igboist. To celebrate this day; Each Igboist worker will get an alert of #40,000 NAIRA from Mula Mama. Do with it whatever the heck you want. You deserve more and more I will keep doing.

To members of Igboist, who made this day possible, mulas, phones, wigs, airtime, and so much more will be shared to you in various forms starting this week. But we need to do an instant parry today to acknowledge that this historic moment took place today.

CrimeIt’s On Us, All Of Us, To Put A Stop To Sexual Assault And Victim Blaming – Okeb by hansome01(op): 1:48pm On Sep 10, 2017
Okebe Philips wrote :

The proliferation of rape cases in Nigeria in recent times is worrisome and the victim blaming is an eyesore .

Victim blaming in a rape case is the height of callousness. It is completely ridiculous. When there’s a rape case some people are quick to ask;

What was she putting on? Was she properly dressed? Was she putting on a bra? And other silly questions to shift part of the blame to the abused. In this same country and on this virtual space, we’ve read about children being raped at a tender age. Some of them as little as 6 months. Where they indecently dressed too? What about the northern part of the country and other Islamic nations with stringent “moral” dress codes, where they cover all sensitive parts of their body and still get raped.

Una see baa, in reality, abuse is a conscious choice made by the abuser. Abusers have a choice in how they react to their partner’s actions.

For every 10 reported rape cases in Nigeria, there are 1000 unreported cases swept under the carpet. You know why? Some of them are afraid they’ll be blamed for getting raped.

Regardless of their actions, no one deserves to be sexually abused. In fact, putting the blame for the abuser on the victim is a way to manipulate the victim and other people. Sexual abusers will tell the victim, “You made me mad,” or, “You gave me erection,” or will try to shift the burden by saying, “Everyone acts like that.” Most victims try to placate and please their abusive partners in order to de-escalate the violence. The abuser chooses to abuse, and bears full responsibility for the sexual assault.

Rape victims are first humans before a girl child or boy child, man or woman. As concerned humans, we must put concerted efforts to put an end or reduce to the barest minimum; “rape culture and victim blaming ”

How do we achieve this?

– Avoid using language that objectifies or degrades women

– Speak out if you hear someone else making an offensive joke or trivializing rape

– If a friend says they have been raped, take your friend seriously and be supportive

-Think critically about the media’s messages about women, men, relationships, and violence

-Be respectful of others’ physical space even in casual situations

-Let rape survivors know that it is not their fault

-Hold abusers accountable for their actions: do not let them make excuses like blaming the victim, alcohol, or drugs for their behavior

-Always communicate with sexual partners and do not assume consent

-Define your own manhood or womanhood. Do not let stereotypes shape your actions.

– Avoid underage children. Just because they’re naive doesn’t make them objects for sexual gratification.

– Be an Active Bystander!

Celebrities“I Have Never Dated A Guy That Is Good Enough In Bed” – Nigerian Stylist, Pearl by hansome01(op): 10:49am On Sep 10, 2017
Fashion Stylist, Pearl Chdinma Ogbulu, in an interview with BroadwayTV, has opened up about her s-x life, and revealed that she has never dated a man who is apparently, good in bed.

When the 2017 Face of Candid City Stylist of Year award winner was asked if she could settle down with a man who is not good in bed, she brusquely replied,

“I have never dated a guy that is good enough in bed”, adding that sex in a marriage is something a woman can manage to work for her by making the husband to be as good as what she can live with.
“I may have never dated a man that is good in bed but that wouldn’t stop me from dating a man who is not good in bed. I tend to love a lot if I like the man. If you are not good enough for me in bed, we are going to work towards it to make your private part a good place for us. If you have been scared to DM me because you are not good in bed, don’t worry, we are going to work at it. Don’t be sad, be happy,” she said.
But as free spirited and liberated as she seems, Pearl is not the feminist type or a sexist, she’s all woman and says nothing can make her bend.

“The truth is that what a man can do, a woman cannot do it, she said “I can’t propose to a man. I like to be very old school. I like my man asking me out, I want a man to open the door for me, I want a man to pour me a drink, I want him to offer me his jacket., I want a man to kiss me goodnight. I can’t take the place of a man, I need to be a woman all day all my life”, she beamed when she was asked if he could propose to a man.

On lesbianism, she was simply emphatic.

“With all the joy that being with a man gives, why would I want to be a lesbian. Yes, I do have many women who are after me but the answer is no. I would rather be single and celibate than be a lesbian.”

Nairaland GeneralNorth Korea: Japan Missile Test Was First Step In Pacific Operation by hansome01(op): 2:34pm On Aug 30, 2017
North Korea says its firing of a missile over Japan was “the first step” of military operations in the Pacific, signalling plans for more launches.

State media also repeated threats to the US Pacific island of Guam, which it called “an advanced base of invasion.”

The missile launched on Tuesday crossed Japan’s northern Hokkaido island, triggering public alerts to take cover, before landing in the sea.

The UN Security Council has unanimously condemned North Korea for its actions.

Meeting late on Tuesday in New York, the council called the launch “outrageous”, demanding North Korea cease all missile testing.

While the statement said the regime’s actions were a threat to all UN member states, it did not threaten new sanctions against Pyongyang.

Russia and China said US military activity in the region was partly to blame for the increase in tensions, and urged negotiations.

Arriving for a visit to Japan, British Prime Minister Theresa May on Wednesday called on China to put more pressure on North Korea, saying that Beijing had a key role in the international response to Pyongyang’s “reckless provocation.”

North Korea has repeatedly conducted missile launches in recent months, despite being barred from doing so under UN rules.

The latest, a domestically made Hwasong-12, was launched early on Tuesday Korean time from a site near Pyongyang.

It travelled some 2,700km (1,678 miles), at an unusually low height for North Korean missile tests, over Hokkaido before crashing about 1,180km off Japan’s eastern coast.

Japan sent out alerts telling people in Hokkaido to take cover. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe later called it “unprecedented, serious and a grave threat.”

For the first time, North Korea’s official news agency KCNA admitted deliberately firing a ballistic missile across Japan. Previous projectiles which crossed the mainland were later claimed to have been satellite launches.

It said the launch was in direct response to joint US-South Korean military drills which are currently taking place, as well as to mark the anniversary of the Japan-Korea treaty of 1910, which saw Japanese forces annex the Korean peninsula.

KCNA, quoting leader Kim Jong-un, said that, “like a real war,” the latest drill was “the first step of the military operation of the KPA [Korean People’s Army] in the Pacific and a meaningful prelude to containing Guam.”

Mr Kim has also ordered more rocket drills targeting the region, it said.

North Korea first threatened to fire missiles towards Guam – a major US military centre in the Pacific and where some 160,000 US citizens live – earlier this month.

US officials had suggested that the fact it had not carried out its threat so far was a sign of possible progress.

US President Donald Trump, in a statement released by the White House, said the world had “received North Korea’s latest message loud and clear.”

“This regime has signalled its contempt for its neighbours, for all members of the United Nations, and for minimum standards of acceptable international behaviour,” he said.

“Threatening and destabilising actions only increase the North Korean regime’s isolation in the region and among all nations of the world. All options are on the table.”

Earlier this month, President Trump warned Pyongyang would face “fire and fury” if it continued to threaten the US.

PoliticsDave Umahi On Anambra PDP Gubernatorial Primaries; 'we Were Threatened' by hansome01(op): 9:33am On Aug 30, 2017
Chairman, Anambra State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries and Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, has disclosed that they were threatened during the conduct of the just-concluded exercise.

Umahi, who stated this on Tuesday night while presenting the report of his committee to the Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the party, however did not reveal who threatened them.

He stated that his committee did everything possible to maintain high integrity, adding: “We were threatened even as governors.”

He however urged party members to desist from heading to court over decisions reached by the leadership of the party, noting that the import of the Supreme Court judgement on the 14-month leadership crisis, means that decision of the party is supreme.

He said: “Any member going to court over dissolution of party executive is ignorant.

“We must do away with the mindset of people going to assignments like this to seek money. We had no interaction with anybody. We did everything possible to maintain high integrity. There is not threat we didn’t get even as governors. But after we said our prayers we said whatever will happen should happen.

“We must not send persons that we can’t vouch for their character to conduct party primaries.”

Recall that one of the aspirants and Chairman, Capital Oil, Ifeanyi Uba, had told the committee at the primary that he had filed a suit challenging the outcome of the ward congress.

Responding, Makarfi, who noted that they made the right choice by choosing the team that conducted the primaries, said “it was a challenging environment and you excelled.”

He appealed to members to work together, noting that the caretaker committee would soon call a stakeholders meeting to pacify aggrieved members.

Four of the seven PDP aspirants protested the outcome of the primary on grounds that the ward congress was fraught with irregularity and forged results. The aggrieved aspirants included the senator representing Anambra North Stella Oduah; a member of the House of Representatives Lynda Ikpeazu; Chairman Capital Oil, Ifeanyi Uba as well as former Minister of State for Transportation, Prince John Emeka.

Romance50 Things Ladies Should Know About Guys. It's Therapeutic To Relationships. by hansome01(op): 4:57pm On Aug 28, 2017
Men have for long been belittled by the fairer sex and have been quoted as being everything ranging from egotistical, stubborn and lacking in emotion. For the ladies out there, however, it may come to you as a surprise, or even a shock, that there is much more behind a man and there is much that your man might wish you could know better about him.

50 Things Guys Wish Girls Knew
Yes, it is true that it might be quite a challenge for women to understand men. However, once you get to know a few of the “basics”, it becomes much easier to understand a man. Well, there are some things that guys wish girls knew, and a few of these are listed below. Knowing these things and understanding them can go a long way in understanding a guy and building a better relationship with your man.

Things That Girls Should Know About Guys

1. Guys are more emotional than they appear to be. If they ever loved you at any point of time, it will take them much longer to let go of you than you think, and it hurts them immensely each moment that they try.

2. Guys love to make their women happy. At times they just don’t know how to do it.

3. No matter how many women a guy flirts with all day, he will always think about the girl he truly cares about before he falls asleep.

4.Be specific. Guys are not mind readers nor do they “read between the lines”. If you want a guy to know something, say it.

5. Guys do not like to be used as tools to make others jealous.

6. Guys hate it when girls smoke, especially if the girl in question means a lot to him.

7. Guys love girls who work out.

8. Guys love you more than you think they do.

9. Whether you believe it or not, most times that guys hurt you, they honestly don’t mean to hurt you.

10. A guy has feelings too. Just because he “appears” to be unresponsive to things that might set you off, it does not mean that he has no feelings.

11. If you don’t want to know the truth, don’t ask guys questions. They say it as it is.

12.When a guy falls in love, he becomes very serious about you. Do not try to make him jealous. This will push him away from you.

13.Guys get possessive when they are serious about their relationship.

14.A movie is not “real”. Do not expect guys to do and say everything that is said in movies. It takes countless drafts and revisions for groups of people to come up with just “one” of those sweet lines that are said in movies.

15.Guys run from girls who are clingy, no matter how deeply they might love them.

16.If a guy sacrifices his health and sleep just to be with you or talk to you, it means that he loves you more than you can imagine.

17.You can be the most beautiful woman in the world. However, if you are being nasty to your guy, it’s curtains for you.

18.As tough as a guy may appear to be, he still likes to be reassured that he is loved.

19.A guy finds you more attractive when you are cooking than when you are dressed to kill.

20.A guy might listen politely when you talk about your ex-boyfriend. However, this does not mean that he is interested in having ceaseless conversations on each thing your ex did and why it didn’t work out.

21.When a guy likes you, he teases you.

22.While a guy may ogle a girl in a mini-skirt, he definitely prefers a girl with brains.

23.Not all guys are jerks. Just because you have met a couple of jerks it doesn’t mean that they all are.

24.A guy who loves you will want to be the only guy you talk to.

25.You are not a model from a magazine and your guy doesn’t expect you to be one.

26.Guys don’t like their past mistakes being brought up constantly by the women they love.

27.The only “operation” of the remote control to which you are entitled is to pick it up and hand it to your guy.

28.Guys don’t like their driving skills being criticized.

29.Video games have a special place in a guy’s life.

30.Guys don’t like to be interrupted when they are watching a game. You can ask questions later.

31.Guys hate it when things said in old arguments are brought up in the current argument.

32.A Guys’ night out is not something to be discussed with you. Ask questions about it only if you want to get your head bitten off.

33.No matter how much a guy may drool over a super-hot woman, in the end, it personality that counts with him.

34.Guys cry. This does not make them unmanly.

35.When you start getting jealous of your guy’s relationship with his female friend, you are pushing him closer to her.

36.If a guy tells you that he is crazy about you, he really is. It is not often that guys say that.

37.Guys have more problems than you might be aware of.

38.A guy doesn’t bother much about whether you wear new clothes or get a new hairdo as much as he bothers about “you”.

39.If a guy loves you, he will do anything to get you to notice him.

40.A guy needs a listening ear at times. Don’t give him advice and don’t lecture him all the time – just listen.

41.A guy will waste a lot of time over video games and sports, just the same way as you would waste time over novels and make up.

42.Guys hate it when arguments are ended with “Whatever” or “Fine”. They know that the argument will re-surface at some later point of time if this is how it ends.

43.Guys rarely look into things minutely. So if you’ve trimmed your hair half an inch, it wouldn’t be fair to explode at him for not noticing it.

44.Guys generally don’t like match-making. If you don’t want to upset your guy, do not expect him to “convince” his friend to date your friend, just because she is lonely and her date cancelled out.

45.Guys never really stop loving girls whom they truly loved before.

46.A guy’s first love is special.

47.Guys love it when girls they really like, ask them for advice. It brings out the protector in them.

48.Surprise your guy with little gifts or even a surprise evening out. It’s not just girls who love to be pampered.

49.Guys love girls who take an interest in their career and make it a point to find out more about what their man does.

50.Guys love girls who love them.

While the above points hold good for guys in general, avoid the tendency to stereotype all guys you meet. Remember that each person has their own individuality, and if you really love a guy, you need to respect him for who he is.

Christianity EtcSenior Special Assistants To The Holy Spirit And The Rest Of Us. by hansome01(op): 4:17pm On Aug 28, 2017
Those of you calling Tasha Cobbs featuring Nicki Minaj a spiritual misfit, are you an assistant to the Holy Spirit?

Y'all senior special assistants to God are the reason why the ministry of Atheism is moving to the permanent site in Nigeria.

Even the pastor Gideon Akande that opined that ladies that wear high heels are special candidates in hell, what is wronging you people?

Have you guys noticed the number of private Christians are skyrocketing? I mean Christians that stay away from church but believe in the existence of God and set up praying and worship altars in their homes? It's because of all the incessant judgements Holy Spirit assistants pass on 'presumed world people'.

The last time I checked Jesus didn't come for the Jews, He came for the gentiles. He is not the savior of Christians, He is the savior of the world.

Let's leave the chastisement to the Holy Spirit. If Jesus didn't condemn sinners but received them with open arms and forgave them of their sins. Brother, sister who are youhuh

Please shift lemme pass Biko. Nonsense and senior special assistants.

RomanceOpen Your Heart To Love Again (its Not All Over) by hansome01(op): 5:02pm On Aug 27, 2017
At the deepest core level we all want connection. Because we all desire to give and receive love. But to do that, requires that we live with an open heart.
But somewhere along the way, we all experience hurt. Sometimes the hurt is so deep that it causes us to make an internal vow that we will never be loved or give love again, because the hurt is so bad.

So what do we do?

We close our hearts and build walls. And behind those walls we live a quite life of silent desperation, isolated and alone from any chance to receive or give love.
Over time we become cold and indifferent. Numb to the people, places and things that once gave us so much life. How do i know all this?
Because, I’ve been there more times than i care to admit.
I wanna tell you something, something that i longed to hear for so many years.
YOU ARE ENOUGH.
THOUGH YOU MAY BE IMPERFECT.
YOU ARE ENOUGH.
Let those words sink in to your soul. YOU ARE ENOUGH! You now have a choice.
1. Continue to live a quite life of desperation, alone & afraid (Which is ok, because you are powerful and I respect you)
2. Open your heart to Love.
But before you make that choice. Understand, that #1 will be the easier route if your looking to play it safe.
Because #2, will require vulnerability, trust and living with an open heart, which will must likely mean you will experience hurt and rejection.

WHY?

Because we live in a broken and fragmented world filled with hurting people. But if your willing to take a risk. I can assure you, that you will live a life very few will ever live. A life of giving and receiving LOVE, thus fulfilling your deepest core need of connection.
Did i mention it will take a risk?
Remember,
YOU ARE ENOUGH.
THOUGH YOU MAY BE IMPERFECT.
YOU ARE ENOUGH.

PoliticsThe Planned Kanu’s Re-arrest, Ohaneze Ndigbo’s Response And The Rest Of Us by hansome01(op): 4:51pm On Aug 27, 2017
By Charles Ogbu

Yesterday, the 26th day of August, 2017, the OHANEZE Ndigbo President General, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, released a statement in which he fiercely rebuked the minister of Justice and Attorney General of Nigeria, Mr Abubakar Malami for calling for Nnamdi kanu’s re-arrest even while the genocidal quit notice-issuing Arewa Youths and the composers and distributors of the anti-Igbo hate songs yet walk the earth as free men and even enjoy protection from security agencies.

For those who are yet to fully grasp Chief Nwodo’s message, let me break it down in my own words:

Chief Nwodo was simply saying, Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and by extension, Igbos, are not orphans. They have a father in me. We are republican in nature and as such, we can disagree and even quarrel amongst ourselves but it doesn’t change the fact that they are my children and I their father. If you come for one of them UNJUSTLY, we will close ranks and you will have all of us to contend with.

Chief nwodo’s message is loud, clear and very timely. And it represents the views of every Igbo man and woman on this particular issue.

And just so we are clear, Ndigbo through Chief Nwodo, are not opposing Kanu’s re-arrest because we think he’s above the law. Not at all. We are opposing Nnamdi Kanu’s re-arrest based on the two reasons below.

1. We believe that a govt which woefully failed to arrest the Arewa youths who issued an open threat of genocide against Igbos living in the North has no moral right whatsoever to even mention the name ‘Nnamdi Kanu’ not to talk of re-arresting him.

By openly promising to arrest the Arewa Youths only to turn around and provide them with maximum security as they assembled to SUSPEND (not even withdraw) an atrocious quit notice which they had no right to issue in the first place, the security agency simply confirmed our suspicion that the quit notice was actually issued by Northern establishment with the prior knowledge of the Buhari led govt with a view to blackmailing Igbos into denouncing the Biafra agitation. The choice of “Arewa House” for the so called Kaduna declaration says it all. Ndigbo are no fools!

2. Just like a certain Igbo socio-cultural group, Nzuko Umunna, once said, Nnamdi Kanu is not above the law but he must equally not be treated beneath the law.

After Kanu was arrested and detained for months, on December 17th, 2015 there was a ruling by an Abuja high court presided over by justice Adeniyi Ademola ordering the Nigerian govt to release the IPOB leader UNCONDITIONALLY. It is settled in law that even if a Judge gives a ruling while visibly under the influence of alcohol, that ruling must either be obeyed or appealed at a higher court. But, the Buhari led govt neither obeyed nor appealed Justice Ademola’s court ruling, thereby setting a very bad precedence.

On what ground does the same govt now expect Nnamdi Kanu to obey Justice Binta Nyako’s legally outrageous bail conditions depriving him of his constitutionally guaranteed fundamental human rights to freedom of speech, movement and association even when he has not been convicted of any crimehuh?

Between Nnamdi Kanu who flouts his bail conditions because he believes those conditions violates his fundamental human rights AND President Buhari who choses which court ruling to obey or disobey, who posses a bigger threat to law and order and who should a responsible citizenry tackle firsthuh?

Between the Arewa Youths who, not only publicly asked their fellow citizens (Igbos) to quit the North or be visited with genocide but equally released anti-Igbo hate songs AND Nnamdi Kanu who is asking for a referendum with civil disobedience as his only weapon, who should a responsible govt arrest firsthuh

If President Buhari’s fixation on Kanu and Biafra was about keeping Nigerians safe and united, why is he releasing the dreaded boko haram terrorists from Prison and gifting them with a juicy amnesty offer even when the terror group has killed thousands of Nigerians and still counting, displaced millions and even hoisted their flag on Nigeria’s territoryhuh? And why is the president currently protecting his kinsmen, the marauding Fulani herdsmen with a strong army taskforce rather than prosecuting them for their number-less acts of terror across the countryhuh

Why does it seem like under President Buhari, Nigeria operates two set of laws: One for people who share his religion (Islam) and ethnicity (Hausa/fulani) and another for those who don’t??

Under Buhari, is Nigeria officially George Orwell’s Animal Farm??

We would recal that this same Buhari exhibited exactly this kind of hate-induced ethnic bigotry some 3 decades ago when he overthrew the democratically elected govt of Shehu Shagari and Alex Ekwueme but went ahead to keep his fellow Fulani Muslim, Shagari, who was the President in a cozy apartment in the name of house arrest while the Igbo Christian, Ekwueme who was the vice president was thrown into Kirikiri maximum security prison.

To Ndigbo, I have words for you:

President Muhammadu Buhari is hate made flesh. He is a prisoner to his own hate. He harbours a generational hatred for not just you but all other people except hausa/fulani SUNNI Muslims. Stop trying to appease a man who hates you for no reason. It was the seeming disunity between your elders and the Youths that emboldened your Oppressor in the first place. Now, Let his mindless hatred serve to unite you into a common front. You survived Buhari before. You will survive him again!

To President Buhari, I have something to tell you sir:

If you continue to make injustice a law under your administration, Ndigbo will be left with no choice than to activate resistance as a duty!

For other Nigerians, I wish to break words with you:

Look for a place and weep yourselves to sleep. But weep not for Kanu or the Igbos. Weep for your country which has since been hijacked by morally bankrupt men hellbent on taking everyone to Golgotha.

Indeed, There Was A Country!

FamilyMessage To The Modern Woman by hansome01(op): 5:22pm On Jul 01, 2017
Dear woman,

By Okebe Philips

Gone are the days when the dream of every woman is to find a future husband.
The goal now is to be a major contributor to the success and survival of the society and to be happily married.

Marriage is beautiful. It is an accomplishment but it is not an "End". There's more to being married and that's to be the wife and mother your husband and children will be proud of and by extension the society.

Once upon a time we had sit at home wives but these days women no longer go into marriages empty.

Natalie Brooke Succinctly captured it that;

“Women are entrepreneurs, lawyers, teachers, CEOs, inventors, designers, researchers, writers, consultants and so much more. Women are going to college and then getting their masters and doctorate degrees. Women are endlessly working to climb up the corporate ladder. Women are key figures in our government. Women are changing the world with their innovation"

If your intention is to marry, give birth to children and relax as if there's nothing more to achieve then you've got it all wrong. The society needs you as much as your family need you.

A woman is an achiever. A woman is a strong support. A woman is a strong voice. You can be all these and still be happily married.

There's no limit to what a woman can achieve!

EducationWho Is A Political Scientist? (career Overview, Duties And Qualities) by hansome01(op): 7:47am On Apr 18, 2017
If you're a political scientist ( Student or graduate), then this is for you. It is long, but it's a must read.

A lot of people ask me Phil, if I graduate as a political scientist, what are the career opportunities and job descriptions for a political scientist? In some cases, Lecturers shy away from these questions.

The truth is that, it's not a question that gives me joy when answering not because political science is not an interesting course but because it doesn't enjoy a friendly working environment in Nigeria and in Africa. It's yet to gain a strong root as a field of practice. The very intelligent ones after graduation work their ways into lecturing in the universities which is very limited while some settle for secondary schools, just few are employed by the government in the foreign affairs ministry, federal civil service and local governments. Others work outside their fields of study. The last category are those that abandon their certificates and go into business.

Now, this is what you should know as a political scientist.

In the United States, half of Political scientists are employed by the government and their Job specification is very simple. To assess the impact of government policies, such as the efficiencies of public services, effects of departmental cuts, and advantages of proposed improvements. This is not what it is in Nigeria. The biggest breakthrough of Political Science in Nigeria is perhaps in the area of research in the universities.

Career Overview:

Political scientists study the origin, development, and operation of political systems. They research political ideas and analyze governments, policies, political trends, and related issues.
Political organizations, lobbying firms, and many nonprofit, labor, and social organizations will rely on the knowledge of political scientists to manage complicated legal and regulatory issues and policies.
Political scientists will also be needed at think- tanks to focus specifically on politics and political theory. Organizations that research or advocate for specific causes, such as immigration, healthcare, or the environment, will also need political scientists to analyze policies relating to their field.

As a political scientist and a Nigerian, these are your duties :

1. Research political subjects, such as the Nigerian political system, relations between Nigeria and foreign countries, and political ideologies

2. Collect and analyze data from sources such as public opinion surveys and election results
Use qualitative sources, such as historical documents, to develop theories

3.Use quantitative methods, such as statistical analysis, to test theories

4.Evaluate the effects of policies and laws on government, businesses, and people

5.Monitor current events, policy decisions, and other issues relevant to their work

6.Forecast political, economic, and social trends

7.Present research results by writing reports, giving presentations, and publishing articles.

Finally, a good political scientist must possess these important qualities:

#Analytical_skills. Political scientists often use qualitative and quantitative research methods. They rely on their analytical skills when they collect, evaluate, and interpret data. That's why we study statistics. It's a nitty-gritty in our discipline.

#Critical_thinking_skills. Political scientists must be able to examine and process available information and draw logical conclusions from their findings.

#Intellectual_curiosity. Political scientists must continually explore new ideas and information to produce original papers and research. They must stay current on political subjects and come up with new ways to think about and address issues.

#Writing_skills. Writing skills are essential for those who write papers on political issues. They must be able to convey their research results clearly.

I hope these helps!

Christianity EtcMy Easter Message To Christians by hansome01(op): 10:13am On Apr 17, 2017
As we commemorate the resurrection of our Lord and personal Savior; Jesus Christ, please ponder on these lines:

"Anyone who thinks sitting in church can make you a Christian must also think that sitting in a garage can make you a car."— GK Chesterton

Going to church doesn't guarantee your salvation. What guarantees your salvation as a Christian is the study of God's words, applying it rightly in your daily lifestyle. Telling people about Jesus is not what matters, that is not what evangelism is. True evangelism is people seeing Jesus in you.

If you live in my neighborhood or I know you from somewhere for the wrong reasons and you come to me with the word of God, I will bounce you. Simply because you can't give what you don't have. You can't tell about Jesus when Jesus can't be found in you.

The pharisaical nature of present day Christians is the reason why many people are denouncing Christianity and cross carpeting to other religions or better still accept atheism. We are eager to preach the gospel than to act the gospel. Misplaced priorities!

An extract from Hymar David's day 3 Bible teachings yesterday sums it up :

"We do not go to church to seek God. We go because we have God and we want to worship him together.
Christ doesn't live in churches or the houses and offices of your favorite pastors. He rose for something better than that. He rose to take residence in the hearts of those who seek him."

I pray that God illuminate our minds to understand exactly what he wants from us as Christians.

Selah!

You're right but then bro, there's a difference between correction and shaming. Some deliberately want to nail you to the cross not like you guys had issues or something. Hope you got my point
menxer:
OP, Just as you rightly pointed out, writing an "endearing article" is an art of talent same as pointing out others' "errors;" The problem is taking social media criticisms too seriously.
Nairaland GeneralShaming On Social Media Very Worrisome by hansome01(op): 10:26am On Apr 15, 2017
A lot of shaming going on, on social media platforms de weak me. "Body shaming", "Intellectual shaming" and I don't get it. She's too fat, she's too short, he's very skinny abi lanky, ugly thing, and the list continues. So, this is what Social Media 2017 is about abi? Okay. I will get back to that.

#Intellectual_Shaming. Some people will never like nor comment on your post but when you make grammatical error(s) that is when they'll carry their busy body gbaaam ontop your matter, pointing out to your error as if they get paid for it. It's not wrong to correct someone's error but don't make the person feel less of him/herself. What about hitting his/her inbox?
The truth remains that English language is our lingual franca and not our arterial tongue. You can't be more English than an English man. You shame someone for been bad at writing or speaking the Queen's language but you can't write nor speak in your local dialect, you see your life? You're the one who needs serious prayers because your unkus in the village use your brain to drink fresh enu nkwu every morning.

You can shame me for been bad @ spoken or written English but you can never change the "Thanks for coming" clearly written on my certificate. Neither can you posses my "Intellectual property". Since Facebook now pay people for all kinds of shaming.

The question remains, does your command of English language put food on your table? If it doesn't, Oh thou Prince Williams and Princess Diana can you keep kwayet.

Then again, everybody is not a writer. That someone can't conjure up something, make it apt and endearing doesn't mean he/she has low intellect. The art of writing itself is a gift as well as a skill. Don't use it as a yardstick to measure intelligence. This is the great shame of our education systems and societies. We need to grow up please.

I don't know for others but my mission on social media is simple. Make people laugh to the best of my ability and have fun as well. Make good friends. Teach, inspire and motivate people as far as my brain can carry me. Follow up people who are better than me, learn from them and improve as a person. Kpom kwem! Nothing more, nothing less.

EducationUniport Best Graduating Student Claims He Slept For 2 Hours Everyday For 4 Yrs by hansome01(op): 2:18pm On Apr 13, 2017
I read online about the interview granted by Uniport best graduating student 2017. Dude said he slept for 2 hours everyday for the period of 4 years to achieve 4.82 CGPA.
Me, I will not say he's lying oooo but these best graduating students should stop playing on our collective intelligence.
Must we associate success with "excruciating pain" in Nigeria? I'm not a medic but correct me if I'm wrong, it's impossible to sleep for two hours daily for a period of four years. Dude was too hyperbolic.

Alex Thomson, the fastest Briton to sail single-handedly, non-stop around the world nearly broke down after sleeping for just one hour, 30 minutes in four days. In his words;
"I’ve ceased to function properly and need people with me for my safety. My inability to nap has given me a real sympathy for insomniacs. It’s like torture."

Sleep balances your blood sugar levels and helps consolidate new things you’ve learned. Even almighty Albert Einstein needed 10 hours of sleep everyday. I know the body adapts to sleeping less like Margaret Thatcher famously slept for an average four hours but for 2 hours? I don't believe it.

Then again, lemme mind my business. Who dash me first class?

In another news, Congratulations to these great Akokites ; Taiwo Bankole and Ajoke Omotuyi of the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Science and the Department of Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, respectively. They emerged best graduating students from the University of Lagos, 2016/2017 convocation with perfect scores of 5.00 CGPA. Achieving the same feat with Ayodele Dada of the same Unilag.
How come the news was not publicized?
