Crime / On The Alleged Rape Case... by hansome01(m): 5:56pm On Feb 08, 2018
A Facebook user, Ifeanyi OnyeAbiriba Okebe took to his Facebook handle to lend his voice on the alleged rape case.

He wrote;

I for one think it's very wrong to reduce RAPE to triviality. As sensitive as a rape case is it shouldn't be reduced to a 'subject of mockery' .

Rape is inhumane, a callous act and should be discouraged in its totality but to falsely accuse someone of Rape? I don't know the adjective to qualify such deviltry.

Some ladies should desist from slamming rape charges on a man you clearly gave your consent to explore your treasure base.

I think one of the worst feelings for a man is not allowing him to cum after you've reached orgasm in a consensual sex. In this case, what is good for the goose is good for the gander as well.
'Dem no de put sugar for person mouth come commot am'.

How will you initiate sex as a lady, give full consent to penetration only to withdraw your consent after you've enjoyed his cassava to the extent that you reached cloud nine? If I'm wrong I stand to be corrected, I don't think our laws here supports withdrawn sensual consent.

If as a lady you don't want to get raped please don't initiate sex. Make it known from the onset that you're not giving in to this. Don't be a sensual terrorist like the lady below. Stop exploiting men sensually to your advantage.

The lady below is evil, narcissistic and doesn't deserve public sympathy.

Sports / Rooney Advises Jose Mourinho On The Best Position To Play Paul Pogba by hansome01(m): 7:25am On Feb 06, 2018
Rooney has some advice for United coach Jose Mourinho on the best position to play their star man Paul Pogba in order to help him rediscover his Juventus form.

The Red Devils legend believes the £89 million Frenchman should be used on the left of a midfield three in order to recapture his Juventus form.

Manchester United should deploy Paul Pogba in a box-to-box midfield role to get the best out of the France star, according to former team-mate Wayne Rooney.

Jose Mourinho dropped record signing Pogba to the bench for Saturday's 2-0 Premier League win over Huddersfield Town following a poor showing in the previous defeat at Tottenham.

The United boss praised Pogba's reaction as a demonstration of his drive and professionalism but Rooney, who also found himself benched by the Portuguese tactician towards the end of his United career, believes a tactical tweak can unleash the 24-year-old's best form.

"For me Paul Pogba is a classic box-to-box player. He can do a bit of everything really well," Rooney told Sky Sports' Monday Night Footballprogramme.

"If he has that freedom where he doesn't have to think too much about his defensive role he can cause mayhem.

"At Juventus he had [Andrea] Pirlo alongside him. With [Nemanja] Matic and another alongside him, on the left of a three in midfield, that will certainly get the best out of him."

Pogba has played 22 times for United in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and supplying 10 assists.

Nairaland / General / 20 Important Things You Should Know About Introverts by hansome01(m): 9:57am On Feb 04, 2018
Introverts are a largely misunderstood bunch. We often come off as quiet or even shy, generally preferring to be behind the scenes and not be the center of attention, and we actually enjoy being alone more often than not. It’s a difficult concept for our more extroverted counterparts to understand.

Growing up , I often wished I was naturally more outgoing and got my energy from others like so many of my friends did. But these days I’ve really grown to appreciate and nurture my introverted qualities—they’re what make me who I am.

Here are 20 things I wish more people knew about introverts. Not every single point will be true for every introvert out there, but they’re worth keeping in mind the next time you want to gain a deeper understanding of your introverted best friend, co-worker, or family member:

1. I need my alone time to recharge—it’s not an option.

2. I do like people; I just can’t be around them 24 hours a day.

3. I’m not actually shy; I just choose my words carefully before talking.

4. You can always talk to me—I listen really, really well.

5. I love being around extroverts because it brings out my more social side.

6. You’ll like being around me much more if you give me the time and space to take care of myself.

7. I get a little overwhelmed in big groups, but I really enjoy one-on-one or small-group situations.

8. If you bring up a subject I love (such as health and fitness) you may not even know I’m an introvert, and I’ll probably talk your ear off.

9. There’s a fine line between getting enough space to take care of myself and getting too much space and feeling lonely.

10. Small talk is difficult for me—I much prefer deeper conversations.

11. I’m a very good observer and notice and hear everything.

12. Even though I like to be alone, I work better when surrounded by people (hence my tendency to “coffee shop hop”).

13. It’s hard for me to ask for help, so when I reach out I really need it.

14. Taking care of myself, proper nutrition, and getting enough sleep is really, really important for me.

15. Sometimes I wish I could say yes to more things without feeling like I’m going to overwhelm myself.

16. I like being an introvert for the most part, but sometimes I get a little envious of the extroverts who are always the life of the party.

17. I don’t like to waste my time with people who don’t fill me with joy, so if I spend time with you, you can be sure you’re important to me.

18. It’s not that I’m necessarily a quiet person; it’s just that I talk only when I have something specific to say.

19. I prefer to have fewer, closer friends to lots of acquaintances.

20. I am very loyal—once you’ve earned my trust, I’ll have your back for life.

Education / As Lost As Sailors Without A Compass In The Middle Of The Mediterranean Sea by hansome01(m): 10:26am On Dec 02, 2017
Chinelo, the best graduating student of UNN 2017 got a cash prize of 26 thousand naira which was from the school and her department. She got other cash prizes from private individuals the media didn't report but that's not the crux of the matter.

This kind of news is so disheartening. Making a first class in public universities in Nigeria is not easy. You have to read voraciously, Cross seven seas and seven mountains and at the end of the day what do you get? A meagre amount as an appreciation. Chaiii!

Things have fallen apart and the center couldn't hold. How can a prestigious citadel of learning like the University of Nigeria offer a token of N20, 000 to her best graduating student?

Who has bewitched us in this country?
How did we end up this way?

This singular act is the reason why we experience exodus of our best brains to the developed world every year which creates a huge vacuum (brain drain) and inhibits our growth and development as a nation.

Just two days ago, Goodluck Jonathan, Atiku Abubakar and the commonsense Senator congratulated Wizkid for emerging the best International act at the Mobo Awards.
Few months ago Efe won 25 million naira for doing what? Showcasing his daily lifestyle on TV for 90 days or thereabout.
A country that values entertainment more than academic achievements, how will it compete with industrialized nations?

We need to chart a new course in this country. We need to set things right. This is not the way to go. It's so heartbreaking.

Let me conclude by saying this;

'Undergraduates don't be deterred by news like this. Strive to be the best you can. If you have the means to make a First class or a second class upper, please don't relent'.

Shalom!

Leading cosmetics brand, House of Tara International is set to host ‘1000 Voices’, a national beauty entrepreneur summit on 8 November, 2017 at the Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event, which will bring together beauty entrepreneurs, retailers, re-sellers, make-up artists, investors and other stakeholders to celebrate entrepreneurial excellence within Nigeria’s beauty space, builds on House of Tara’s 2013 ‘100 Voices’ campaign, which focused on celebrating individuals contributing to the development of the ecosystem, despite the odds.

Over the years, the industry has experienced tremendous growth amidst economic fluctuations due to efforts of pioneers such as House of Tara, leading to an increase in demand and supply of beauty products.

House of Tara currently works with over 10,000 beauty entrepreneurs annually, with these individuals massively contributing to the growth of the cosmetics industry.

“These group of people consistently play important roles in the development of the beauty industry, and this summit provides us the opportunity at House of Tara to engage, share ideas and learn from them. It also always reminds us of the primary reason why we started this business”, she added.

The summit features an impressive line-up of speakers including Ibukun Awosika, Chairman of First Bank; Linda Ikeji, media entrepreneur and Tara Fela-Durotoye, covering diverse topics on social media, finance, branding and makeup, as plenary sessions will also be held with Google Nigeria, First Bank, Bimpe Onakoya of Maybelline, and hosted by social media entrepreneur, Olorisupergal.

Sports / Real Madrid Identifies Premier League Boss As Top Target To Replace Zidane by hansome01(m): 8:34am On Nov 03, 2017
- Zinedine Zidane is facing his first crisis since taking over a year-and-a-half ago
- Real Madrid are eight points behind Barcelona in La Liga and lost to Tottenham
- Mauricio Pochettino is seen as the long-term solution by Florentino Perez

Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as Real Madrid‘s No 1 target to replace Zinedine Zidaneif the French coach fails to last beyond the end of the season.

Madrid also have Harry Kane and Dele Alli on a list of possible summer signings as they look to renew a squad that has become stale after three summers without a ‘galactico’ acquisition.

As the after-effects of Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Real Madrid reverberate throughout the continent, Zidane faces his first crisis since he took over a year and a half ago and Pochettino is seen as the long-term solution.

Zidane’s Madrid are eight points off the pace in Spain and set to finish second to Spurs in the Champions League group stage.

Real president Florentino Perez has an excellent relationship with Pochettino, referring to him as ‘My Poch’ when the two teams met in Madrid two weeks ago.

‘I have a lot of respect for Florentino,’ Pochettino told Radio Marca. ‘I’m pleased if he feels the same way. He is always friendly towards me.’
Perez went down to the Real dressing room after the team were taken apart by Pochettino’s young guns on Wednesday.

Pochettino would also be a hugely popular choice with supporters who he has got on the right side of in the past with comments that he could never coach Real Madrid’s big rivals Barcelona.

Despite Zidane winning seven trophies in his 19 months in charge there are questions about his ability to guide the young squad the club has been assembling.

And those doubts intensified after Pochettino taught Zidane a lesson at Wembley.

That young squad would only be improved by the addition of Kane and Alli who hugely impressed the Spaniards. Tottenham would resist any sale and slap huge prices on their two star players.

Of the two players Alli is seen as more open to a move abroad. The key to his future may well rest with who represents him.

Jorge Mendes is the current frontrunner and although relations between the super agent, who also represents Cristiano Ronaldo, and the Spanish giants are not as close as they once were, Mendes’s presence would still likely help any move.

But Alli’s family – the Hickmans, who have looked after him since he was a young boy – have not ruled out Mino Raiola because he is more open to the idea of taking care of transfers and contracts but leaving them to manage Dele’s day-to-day affairs and PR.

Raiola has historically been persona non grata at Madrid and his appointment would bode less well for any switch to Spain.

Pochettino would be tempted by Real but could also follow the lead of Arsene Wenger. The Arsenal coach has resisted Perez’s advances three times during his two decades in North London.

Sports / Paul Pogba Could Feature For Manchester United Against Chelsea by hansome01(m): 8:13am On Nov 03, 2017
Paul Pogba is in line to return to the Manchester United squad this weekend against Chelsea after stepping up his recovery in training, according to reports.

The Frenchman has not played for the Red Devils since injuring his hamstring against Basel in the middle of September, causing him to miss 10 further games across all competitions.

But now The Sun claim Pogba is looking ‘good and sharp’ in training, impressing the club’s fitness staff, and could be back for in the matchday squad for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

However, Jose Mourinho wants to ease his record signing back into the starting XI and will only put him on the bench if he comes through the remaining sessions this week unscathed.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Mourinho refused to confirm any injury or team news ahead of facing Chelsea.

'I have to wait a little bit,’ he said on Thursday, with his media duties brought forward so he can attend a court hearing in Madrid on Friday.

‘Normally my press conference is a little later in the week, we still have Friday and Saturday. I’m not very optimistic, but I don’t want to lie.

'I don’t want you to say that I lie when I told you no chance of recovery, so I prefer just to say two more days to confirm my expectation.’

Pressed further on the state of his squad, he made a 50/50 motion with his hand and added: ‘We are there. I think next two days will be important for that decision.’

Pogba’s return will be a welcome boost for United, who have been without the likes of Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera in midfield.

Even if he is not fit in time to face Chelsea on Sunday, that match is followed by a two-week international break after which the Frenchman should be recovered enough to return to action.

NYSC / Open Letter To 2016 Batch B Stream One Corps Members. by hansome01(m): 3:21pm On Nov 02, 2017
Remember the Facebook User Ifeanyi OnyeAbiriba Okebe that wrote an Open letter to Ray Katins? He took to his Facebook handle to write another to 2016 Batch B stream One Corps members that observed their POP from NYSC today.

Read what he wrote;

After NYSC, what next?

First and foremost, warm congratulations to all 2016 Batch B stream One Corps members that successfully completed their NYSC program today. This is an important phase in the life of every Nigerian graduate and it’s a thing of joy to have participated successfully.

After NYSC, what next?

This is the question on the lips of most graduands today. While some may have carved a niche for themselves and need not bother what life holds in stock for them after today, others are confused. They don’t know what the future looks like.

Now know this, life after service especially in this current economic arrangement is no bed of roses. Many graduates scrambling for few available jobs leaves an eyesore.

This is not the time to depend on white collar jobs or the federal government to create more employment opportunities. My candid advice is; ‘while waiting for your dream job, you can learn a skill if you have none. Pocket your ego for now and work hard if you wish to pay your bills.

Your uncles, friends, Boss and others may have promised you a job immediately after service but remember humans can renege on their promises. Work your success out. Don’t be ashamed to pick up any job no matter how low because if you don’t pay your bills nobody will do that for you. Not all of us were born with silver spoons so knowing your root and the responsibilities lying in wait is paramount.

You can start from the scratch. Rome was not built in a day. Most great business empires we see today had a humble beginning. There’s no shame in starting little. With focus and determination you’ll surely reach your zenith in life.

Lastly, spend your final allawee wisely. Avoid frivolities and stay true to your dreams. Welcome to your world of possibilities. Always remember you can achieve anything you set your mind and sights on.

God bless you all!

Nairaland / General / BIZARRE: Lovers Die Mysteriously Inside Car During Sex by hansome01(m): 1:26am On Oct 30, 2017
A mild drama occurred early Sunday in Ogba, Ikeja area of Lagos following the mysterious death of two lovers inside a car.

A witness said the man and his alleged mistress, said to be a married woman with kids, were engaging in sex when the sad incident occurred.

The duo were reported to have driven to an area behind the Nigeria Institute of Journalism, NIJ, to engage in sex.

The witnesses raised alarm and reported to the police area command in the area whose officials arrived promptly.

“Yes it is true,” he said of the incident. “And when information got to the area command, our men raced to the scene, and conveyed the corpses to the mortuary.”

Mr. Famous-Cole said the police have commenced further investigation and an autopsy would be carried out on the corpses.

Crime / 100-level OAU Student Who Wanted To See God Kills Herself Over Poor Grades by hansome01(m): 8:12am On Oct 29, 2017
A 16-year old 100-level student of Microbiology at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Mercy Afolaranmi, has committed suicide.

Mercy Afolaranmi poisoned herself days after she wrote on Facebook that she wanted to see God’s face and speak with him face to face. She died after drinking “rat poison mixed with battery extract” last Thursday.

Fellow students and a neighbour added that Mercy killed herself due to poor grade.

Speaking to PREMIUM TIMES, Obafemi Awolowo University’s Chief Security Officer, Babatunde Oyatokun, said:

“We got a call that one of our students took poison. We got to hospital to realise that she mixed rat poison. She gave us the contact of her parents but before they arrived, she already gave up due to the effect of the poison she took.”

A neighbour, Bimpe Oni, in an interview with PREMIUM TIMES, said Miss Afolaranmi, who lived off-campus at Sabo area of Ile-Ife, died on Thursday, after she took “rat poison mixed with battery extract.”

Mrs. Oni said the late student committed suicide because of “emotional pressure.”

A student, Aisha, who was Miss Afolaranmi’s colleague in the Faculty of Science, said the deceased had ‘E’ in CHM101 (Chemistry for first year students), a reportedly dreaded course for year one students in the science and technology related faculties.

“Mercy often isolated herself in class and looked depressed,” said Aisha. “She told me she had ‘E’ in CHM101 and has been going around unhappy before this incident.”

Another student in the Faculty of Student, Opeyemi, said “she took poison because of result.”

The school’s Dean of Students’ Affairs, Isiaka Aransi, also confirmed the death of Miss Afolaranmi during a telephone conversation with PREMIUM TIMES on Saturday.

“Although the reason and cause of her death is yet to be known, the division is aware of the death of Mercy.

“She was a student of department of Microbiology whose body has been taken to hospital for autopsy. When the result is out, the university community shall be communicated,” added Mr Aransi.

Before her death, on October 10, Mercy shared her last post on Facebook which read:

“Above all other things, I just wanna see God, see what He looks like, speak with Him face to face. I don’t wanna miss heaven. LORD HELP ME.”

Foreign Affairs / Catalan Parliament Declares Independence From Spain by hansome01(m): 5:53pm On Oct 27, 2017
Catalan lawmakers voted Friday to declare independence from Spain, as Madrid vowed in turn to “restore legality” and quash the region’s secessionist bid.

With thousands of pro-independence activists gathered outside, the regional parliament in Barcelona passed a resolution to “declare Catalonia an independent state in the form of a republic”.

Spain’s Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy responded immediately, urging “all Spaniards to remain calm"

"The rule of law will restore legality in Catalonia,” he tweeted immediately after controversial vote.

Under the eyes of a nervous nation, Catalonia’s regional parliament held a secret ballot, despite an opposition walkout, on a resolution the region´s authorities have no legal power to execute.

The motion was approved with 70 votes in favour, 10 against and two abstentions, a result that immediately saw Spanish shares fall sharply.

– ‘Dark day for democracy’ –
Catalan opposition MPs, refusing to even consider the resolution, walked out en masse on what one described as a “dark day” for democracy.

But those who stayed behind, cheered, clapped and embraced before breaking out in the Catalan anthem as the tally was announced.

Shortly before the Catalan vote, Rajoy urged lawmakers to give him the power to dismiss Catalonia’s secessionist leader Carles Puigdemont, his deputy, and all regional ministers.

If approved, the measures under Article 155 of the constitution, designed to rein in rebels among Spain´s 17 regions, would enter into force on Saturday — effectively leaving Puigdemont and his team out in the cold.

Puigdemont had opted Thursday not to call elections for a new regional parliament, considered by many to have been the only way to prevent Madrid’s power grab.

Instead, he left it up to the regional parliament “to determine the consequences” of the threatened takeover — thus leaving the door open for Friday´s independence push.

Roughly the size of Belgium, the semi-autonomous northeastern region accounts for about 16 percent of Spain’s population and a fifth of its economic output.

Resentment to Madrid’s perceived interference has been growing for years, culminating in an October 1 independence vote deemed illegal by the central government and courts.

But while fiercely protective of their language, culture and autonomy — restored at the end of the 1939-1975 dictatorship of Francisco Franco — Catalans are deeply divided on independence.

Catalan authorities said 90 percent voted “Yes” in the unregulated plebiscite held up by secessionist leaders as a mandate for independence for the wealthy region of 7.5 million people.

‘The Republic awaits’
Only about 43 percent of voters turned out, however, with many anti-secessionists staying away and others prevented from casting their ballot by Spanish police in a crackdown that turned violent.

Based on the vote, Puigdemont threatened to declare an independent republic.

Madrid responded by turning to Article 155.

The senate, in which Rajoy´s Popular Party holds a majority, was set to adopt measures under the article later Friday to depose Catalonia´s secessionist executive and take control of its civil service, police, finances, and public media.

The measures would remain in place until elections for a new regional parliament, though Puigdemont warned Thursday that a takeover from Madrid would escalate the crisis.

Rajoy sought to place the blame for Spain’s worst political crisis in decades squarely on the shoulders of the separatists.

The Article 155 measures were not aimed against the people of the region, he insisted, but “to prevent abuse of Catalonia” by its own leaders.

Far-left groups have already threatened “massive civil disobedience” if Madrid moves to usurp its autonomy.

As lawmakers argued inside the Catalan parliament, thousands of activists gathered outside under the banner: “The Republic awaits, let’s defend it.”

Some sported pro-independence banners, others waved the red-and-yellow Catalan flag to send a message to lawmakers.

There was protest inside the building too, with about 200 separatist mayors, in full regalia, chanting “Independence”, until being silenced.

Regional representatives of Rajoy’s conservative Popular Party, left the Spanish and Catalan flags behind on their seats when they stormed out with other opposition MPs.

Okay bro.
Your case is quite simple. Check out these Nigeria Abuja jobs.
Also employers regularly check uploaded resumes and call the candidate even if they do not (see) apply for the job. So it will be advantagous to upload yours immediately.

In the mean time, you can start earning income by working with WealthBankers like many unemployed do. I for one can tell you. It really pays a lot.

You guys should help a brother. I'm a graduate of political science (2.1). I also have professional certification in customer relationship management and human resources management. I can work anywhere as long as it's administrative inclined. I also have a strong penchant for teaching. I base in Abuja. I completed my NYSC program around April. Thanks
