Hello everyone. Please I have a question. I have a medical visa to birth my baby in April alongside my mom.
My husband plans to come around in May. Please is it advisable for him to apply for a visiting visa while I am still in Nigeria or should he wait till I arrive the US in April.

I would like to appreciate everyone who has contributed to this forum. Even though this is my second missionary journey, I learnt so much from reading people's experiences. Got into LA via Virgin Atlantic on Monday. Had an overnight layover in London and i approached the UK Border Officer for a transit visa as advised here. Was granted a transit visa for 24 hours. Flight to LA was long and tiring as I travelled with my 1 year old though my mum travelling with us eased things a great deal.

My POE experience.

Landed at LAX at 1pm. I had requested for a wheelchair so I was wheeled straight to the CBP officer and didn't have to queue.

Handed him our passports. He asked to see my daughter and started chatting with her.

CBP Officer: How long are you guys here for?
Me: 9 weeks.

CBP: 9 weeks? What are you here for?
Me: I'm here to have a baby.

CBP: So you just come here to have babies?
I smiled.

CBP: And you have how much with you?
Me: $xx

CBP: Place your right four fingers here.

He stamped us in for 6 months. He didn't check any documents.

God is truly amazing. The wheelchair assistance lady helped us with our bags in agric and stayed with us till my host arrived. I had two bags filled with foodstuff but nothing was seized. Got Mr Fred's contact from @brownshoogah and @julzz. He got us a nice place 2 mins from Dr M' s office. Waiting for my first appointment.

Please note that if i add the Doctor's name on the profile, then it wont let me add the name of the Hospital to their organization..

However, i do not have any email Correspondence from Oakbend medical Center except the one i received from Dr. Fagbohun

No problem at all. Fill in the doctor's contact.
As for the email correspondence, it is that of the doctor that is important because that is VO is likely to ask you if you have contacted any doc3tor.
Most doctors are affliated to more than one hospital anyway.

However, how long before my interview do i need to Submit DS -160 form?

Is the doctor demanding for the unrefundable fee of $200?
If you can afford it I will advise you to pay it. With that you should get a letter addressed to the embassy accepting you as his patient, a reciept for your payment as well as an appointment card. Though it isnt a guarantee but it further boosts your chances since there is an evidence of down payment. Good luck

I tried to apply through Nigeria embassy. I filled all the information i.e names, passport no and expiry, contact details etc. When I tried to go to next, it keeps requesting I enter Confirmation number. I thought confirmation number should be given after filling the forms just like here where i did my initial application.
Anyways, I entered the confirmation number I received from Tanzania here and the application continued. Then it showed that the next appointment is on 20th March. That is about the time i will be delivering though due date is 5th April.

Am considering the fact that I will havento spend a lot to fly back to Nigeria and probably with my 5 year old girl. I just want to try again in Nigeria and confront my fears once and for all. It has been confirmed that the consulars in Tanzania do not give visas to nigerians living there because of 'strong ties in home country'. Another friend went 3 times and they beat allbtheir excuses of finance and string ties and the lady finally told her the final reason is because cbp wont let her pass with belly.
Please all, can I still get expedited date after I proceed with the applucation. I tried to look for option to expedite but couldnt find

You can get an earlier date than March20. Keep Checking late at night. You can still get a date in Feb.

VO: why are going to the US?

DH: childbirth.... My wife is pregnant and she has been diagnosed of pre-eclamsia, we don't want to take any risk, so we want to have the baby in the US for better health Care.

VO: is there a particular reason why you want to go as far as Georgia, why not somewhere closer?

Me: the doctor I intend to use was recommended to me by a friend that had exact condition during her pregnancy. She used the doctor for her delivery.

VO: do you have a report from a doctor here in Nigeria showing your diagnosis?

ME: (I was like "yepa" in my mind) No, we don't .

VO:how much is your budget

DH: about 21,000 dollars

VO: are you all going for 3 months

DH: wife and daughter will stay 12 weeks, and I will join her towards her delivery date and stay 3 weeks.

VO: ( types and types) hands over blue paper and said we aren't qualified at the moment.

What do you think about our transcript. I believe she lost interest the moment we said we didn't have the Nigeria doctor's medical report. We intend to get my medical report and re-apply soon. Please advise.

Maybe you just leave it at you are going to give birth.

We decided as a first time traveler he should stay instead going with my mom and an infant. Dh account statement is currently below 2m. Do I pay in more funds? If will it raise a red flag? Please add more money. You should have about 5m. They may not notice when you logged it. I added 5m to my account 3 days before I printed. But since I have been depositing large sums before now, I didnt think it was a problem. Plus they didnt even notice.

hello everyone. I have been following this thread and it has been very helpful, So I am here to give back. I applied for US visa 2016 while single and was denied. I got married last year and I am currently pregnant. So based on information from here, I decided to applied for medical visa together with my mother. Certain agencies I saw online charged about 400k . I couldnt start spending all that money now, So I decided to do it myself. I got a doctor's email at WHMC Texas and started correspondence. I paid $200 for an appointment and got several documents which I took along.

I had my interview 7.30 am this morning Feb 1st in Abuja and it went thus:
Me: Good Morning (smiling)
VO: Morning ( he showed no emotions)
Mum: Good morning ( VO didnt reply)
VO: Passports please. What's the relationship?
Me: She is mother.
Mum: She is my daughter.
Me: (I hand him a family picture)
VO: Madam please dont bring out any documents until I ask you to.
Me: Okay. sorry sir.
VO: Why are you going to the US?
Me: To give birth.
Mum: To assist her because its her first child.
VO: What do you do?
Me: I am an architect. I work at ....
Mum: I wotk with the FG. Ministry of ...
VO: Have you travelled outside the country?
Me: I have been travelling to the UK since 2013. I currently have a valid 2 years visa.
VO: Is that all?
Me: I have been to Dubai, Singapore and some African countries.
VO: Have you contacted a doctor? Can I have your correspondence?
Me: (I hand the documents to him) Yes, I have a letter from my doctor and I have paid for my first appointment. ( I forgot at this point to even mention the name of the doctor and hospital)
VO: Whats the total cost of your medical fees?
Me: From the budget sent by my doctor, the cost is $7000.
VO: Madam that is certainly very little. May I remind you that the US has the highest medical cost in the world...(He starts raising his voice)
Me: That is just the hospital and doctor's cost sir. Our budget for the entire trip including living expenses is $16000. You asked for the medical fees...(I was getting a little apprehensive and I started praying silently)
VO: (Starts typing) So how much do you say is the cost of your trip?
Me: $16,000 sir.
VO: How will you be paying?
Me: My husband and I will be paying.
VO: What does your husband do?
Me: He is a media consultant. He works with FG.
VO: Can I have your bank statement?
Me: (I hand him 2 bank statements). I also have a fixed deposit that will mature in May. (He didnt bother to look at it)
VO: How many children do you have?
Me: This is my first child.
VO: (Turns to my mum) Madam, how many children do you have?
Mum: I have 9 children.
VO: (Types for some minutes while I was praying and wondering what he could be thinking) Madam you can take back these documents. Your visa has been approved. Have a safe trip. (He hands be the white papet)

I really Thank God for everything. I hope to leave end of April or 1st week of May.
