pro01: Who is a 'caring' man? Well, here's a little true-life story. Back then in University, there was this super pretty friend of my female neighbour that used to come around every now and then. At some point she had Malaria fever or something and was indisposed for a few days and had to stay in my neighbour's (off-campus) room to recuperate, since it was more conducive than her crowded hostel room. During that period, her boyfriend's show of care and concern was exemplary. He visited daily, hardly left her side, administered her drugs, and generally made sure she was fine.

However, at that same time, I also had a friend that was quite rich and just brought a flashy car to school then. Somehow he had been eyeing the girl, and when he came aound the house one evening, I told him that the babe was in my neighbour's room and that she was sick and all. Sensing a golden opportunity, my rich friend asked us to visit the room (in the guise of checking on my neighbour). When we got there, we met them eating 'concoction' rice without meat, drowned with satchets of 'pure water' - in typical student fashion. My guy expressed alarm that an ill person wouldn't recover quickly enough on such diet, and he 'magnanimously' offerred to get her something better. He then asked her friend (i.e. my neighbour) to accompany me and him to a fast food joint, where we bought all kinds of mouth-watering stuff, then branched off to a big department store were we bought assorted groceries and whatnot - totalling almost N7k (as of 2003 oh). When we returned home, the girl was shocked beyond words to see all that my guy 'innocently' bought out of sheer 'concern' for her well being. You need to see how she sprang out of the bed to hug him. Not done, my guy squeezed about N4k into her friend's (i.e my neigbour) hand and asked her to buy any other drugs or whatever else she might need to recover faster. . . .

I learned wonderful lessons afterwards. Do you know that this girl was bad-mouthing her boyfriend as an 'uncaring' and good for nothing dude, while she eventually had a shameless affair with my 'caring' friend who was a well-known playboy? (Indeed, even her friend, i.e. my neighbour, later had an affair with the same guy too - even though she also had a boyfriend!). So there you have it. It's easy to know what 'caring' means to the average Nigerian girl.

I am terra-baffled that a simple post that states a movie based on a real life story has become so difficult to even understand and I say views stated so far have shown illogical bogotry and latent fanaticism. How else do we state that the thread assumes that atheism is out of anger etc but simply provides a story that shows atheism of certain individual cannot be attributed to any serious thinking. Now u have restated that you being an atheist is not based on emotional anger good for you, reminding me of what mazaje said when attacking muslims source, that he cannot depend upon them since there is no external source to verify their claims, now again I ask couldn't we say how do we know you guys are lying ? Last time i checked, Nigeria is the most religious country in the world. Has that made the people better? Has it quelled corruption? Bishop Oyedepo has FOUR PRIVATE JETS and has built universities (that the average Nigerian or even majority of his church members cant afford to send their wards to)from the offering money,tithes and pledges collected from the dumb sheeple within his congregation. Chris Oyakhilome,Ashimolowo,Adefarasin and an endless chain of successful church businessmen are all billionaires courtesy of fools who happily give out their hard earned money to them...meanwhile,there are hungry homeless people right outside their church. Can you honestly compare the morality of religious and non-religious folks? We are not on the same pedestal. I don't need to "fear" any deity to give alms to beggars. Several atheists including myself have clearly explained and re-explained times without number on this forum that our disbelief in religion and supernatural entities in general comes mostly from the unshakable doubt that it's all man-made falsehood and we have repeatedly put the ball in the court of religious folks to prove otherwise to no avail.

The average atheist who was raised in a Christian household is more knowledgeable about Christianity and the bible than the average Christian (personally, i'll include the so called "Men of God" coz they are my specialty).

It has nothing to do with "anger" or some irrational emotion as you people love to believe. To sum it all :
