much as i have tried so hard to stay out of this scandal and say one party is not being honest, i would like to encourage the man of God to please clear his name by the simple steps suggested earlier.

1. cross reference the 2 passports as suggested by the accuser.

2. cross check bank account transactions to validate claims that monies were sent to the woman.

if he is able to counter these two only, then he is very innocent.

But me being a Christian, am afraid of having a bullet rip through my body, being smashed up in a car accident, drowning in any large body of water, being stabbed to death, falling off of some sort of building, being in an earthquake etc.
I would prefer to pass in my sleep..but I don't get to choose that fate.
I am a human (although a Christian) who has anxiety and fears at times. When that happens, I must pray for God to take away the fears...and give me a spirit of peace.
The superstition thing, I'm finding out, is real to those who practice it in many foreign countries.
But you can't fault a Christian who (in his/her mind) chose the less violent of the two choices. That, of course, is another topic for another time though.

When faced with a sure physical means of death and a spiritual means, every sensible person would choose the spiritual because somehow we know we have nothing to fear. The fear is imaginary. But no one will choose the physical means because it is so sure, death is certain and we know no God would save us.

Just because he says he is innocent is not enough to absolve him of blame. Just because Otobo has not provided a thousand proof is not enough to say he didn't do it. He has to establish his innocence to all and sundry and so far he has not attempted to do an inkling of that. Rather he goes around alleging El Rufai's complicity in his saga without tangible evidence. He accused her of terrorism without any proof yet his worshippers need more proof from Otobo.

Ok, so I was in a public place sometime last week and we were watching a movie on African Magic. In the movie, some occult men were using their powers to kill their victims and everyone watching the movie were mumbling prayers such as.

"Blood of Jesus cover me"

"This is how they finish people who don't have Jesus"

It even turned to an arguement on how potent such powers are. So I asked them,

"Would you choose I attack you with a spiritual power or use a gun to finish you off"

100% of people there chose to be attacked with spiritual powers. And we all laughed.


Now what would you choose and why?

Are african voodoo as potent as people claim?

Is God's protection so sure? Why trust God to deliver you from spiritual attack but can't trust God to deliver you from a Gun shot

They are working for a COMMISSION or share of the civil damages that the court will order.
No different from an estate agent who sells houses for a commission.
That is different from graduates working for FREE just because they want to "build a name" (gain experience). This is not common in our country, Nigeria.

I have seen a lawyer lend his client 500k. It is over 3 years now, she has been unable to payback and the case is still in court (N40m at stake with other properties).

And when I did my IT training I was the one paying for my upkeep, while I had friends who were handsomely paid by the companies they worked for. Cos to be honest IT is work here in Nigeria and most of us worked for free and were over used sef.

I have worked for a laywer before. Infact he was involved in the Asa's case when she was accused of being a lesbian. There are cases you don't charge money for as a laywer because it is a high profile case especially when big compensation is involved. Did you miss the part were they demanded N500million in damages? Is that not money?

And who told you Nigerians don't or won't do volunteer work they believe would boost their CV? So you think Nigerians are so bad they don't do volunteer work?

Too many kids on nairaland. If you were not a kid, you would know the most expensive lawyers would do high profile cases for free, because that is how they build their name. You the client is actually giving them more than most of their clients would pay. Thru such cases they become more popular.
And a lawyer would not allow his client make the claims otobo has made if they don't have evidences, else his career is finished and his client would so rot in jail.
