lillies: young man relax, b4 my time(5yr ago) oau accepts applications 4m al schs (private and govt.) it was durin my time dy stopd acptn private schs applicatn, strictly govt. (state/fed) schs. Dnt b dcvd dia is no preferential treatmnt given to any sch. Its al rumour, it does nt exist, dia is notin like dat! All nabteb aprovd schs are equal. And if i may ask u, wat criteria did u use in classifyn some polytchncs as low rate? Becos dey r state poly? U must b a funny person. 4 d record, people 4m oda schs hav KILLER gps of 3.9 above. D fact dat u havnt seen any or dnt hv such doesnt mean it does nt exist! Anytm u com arnd oau campus, take a trip 2 faculty of tech. Chck out d roll of honours dia, brother it is jaw dropping, u wl c guys wt 4.97 abve! If a man born of a woman can get a cgpa of 4.97 in OAU, den 3.97 shldnt b an issue my brother. Wat dptmnt did u aply 2?see guy, the thing is i dont want us to start exchanging words on this thread. i understand ur point. what u are saying(many people having a highly rated distinctive grade at d same time and in d same dpartment) really HARDLY OCCURES. but seems u dont get mine which is the fact.....see it below. Helloooo. note, not only ur grade counts even the school one finishes from is of great importance. you dont compare a cgpa of 3.8 from one lowly rated state polythecnic with a 3.5 from a reputable school like yabatech, ilaro, auchi poly, poly ibadan etc.am sorry to say, preference is given to skools named above. The fact is, you dont even get to see many applicant with a very high cgp of 3.7(distinction) and above all chasing a particular department at the same time. OAU still needs to get it right wen it comes to d.e admission. they are not transparent in their processes, i stand to be corrrected. Answer to ur question is.... i applied for elect/elect. from yabatech with 3.63/4.00. one more thing, i know people frm kwara state poly, laspotech and even osun state poly, bori poly in PH. etc that av been treated unfairly when it comes to d.e admission. |
lillies: D.E in faculty of Tech. Is 4 years. Phatkayconcept: Hello, im new here everyone.ok. just buy the 2 forms, make sure u dont fill them the same day. after filling and printing out the jamb DE slips, proceed to jamb office to submit ONLY ONE with other required documents. Thenafter, go to jamb office to submit the other after a period of probably 2weeks or you can submit at another jamb office. it's just for u to be on the safe side. Note: do not take both forms at the same day or else it won't be accepted. you may also interchange your names if you want to e.g 1:2:3 to 1:3:2. |
Qualcoms: I am still wondering what is happening...distinctn frm polyib...yet OAU is stil doing like diz...ha...God, help us !!! One annoying thing is dat...as jamb released diz now...OAU won't say anything, keeping candidates waiting n hanging on unbalance balance...they wil only release d list on sch website e-portal when it pleases them...mehn...Nigeria Education....God!!!bro, the thing is somebody once told me that DE admission in OAU is not by MERIT, it's by who you know. if u have an ND of 3.0 ; ur olevel and have strong connection then admision for such a candidate is certain. am talking frm a confirmed source. |
did u choose ui for DE[/quy yes, in my 2nd form UI first nd second choice. |

i just checked mine through jamb site, but to no avail i didn't get it. the question now is, how was the admission process carried out, the yastic, criteria and qualification requirement to attain admission in OAU? eg in elect/elect. Even after submitting my transcript from yabatech. with distinction from elect/elect (3.63) and a one sitting waec result as recommended. what else do OAU needs(although i dont have connection). in Allah i trust, cos UI DE list is around. may we all have reasons to smile at the end. God pass them. |

There are strong indications that the protracted strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, that has crippled academic activities for over four months may end in the next one week. Sources at the Monday night meeting between the Federal Government led by President Goodluck Jonathan, the leadership of ASUU, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, said both the Federal Government and leaders of ASUU had shifted grounds and leaders of ASUU would meet with its organ (National Executive Council) to brief members of the outcome and then take necessary action. One of the sources said: "Both the Federal Government and the leadership of ASUU are now on the same page. Both parties have shifted grounds. The leadership of ASUU will now meet with its appropriate organ to brief its members and take the necessary action. "ASUU is in the right position to inform the public after meeting with its organ. However, I can tell you that all things being equal, the strike should be over in the next one week." The meeting between the government and the labour leaders started at about 2:30pm on Monday and ended at about 3:30am on Tuesday with a 15 minutes break. SOURCE: m.naij.com |

As i said in previous post, yes only 9 were admitted into 200l whilst the other 6/7 candidates were in for 300l. in the same dpartment. they probably had Hnd or a 1st degree. u know wat i mean. |
Akintileboy: Please o. Who was admitted tru A level last year. Itz time to open up. Let us know ur points into elect dept oonly 5 people were admitted through A' level . while 4 were admitted through ND. my senior frm yabatech was among them. frm the above, u can deduce that 9 candidates were offered admission through DE into 200l in elect dpartment. seems esharp is going for my dpartment too. |

University lecturers yesterday replied to Senate President David Mark's comments on the 2009 agreement, which they are asking the Federal Government to implement. Mark had said that the government officials who signed the agreement "did not know their right from their left" and that the ASUU officials who negotiated exploited their ignorance. The National treasurer of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dr. Demola Aremu said President Goodluck Jonathan was among those who signed the agreement 2009. According to Aremu, it took ASUU and the Federal Government team, led by Mr Gamaliel Onosode, three years to arrive at the agreement, so the team knew what they were going into, adding that it is pretentious for any top government functionary to claim that the government negotiating team did not understand fully what they signed with the teachers. He said ASUU went to the negotiation with a 300-page charter, which was reduced to a 60- page agreement after the union shifted so much ground on many of its demands and Jonathan, who was then the Vice President, asked the government to sign the agreement after thoroughly going through it for six months. Aremu explained that the Federal Government also came up with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the implementation of the agreement in January last year. He asked: "So, if anyone assumes that they didn't know what they were doing in 2009, did they also not know what they were doing in 2012?" The union therefore called on the lawmakers and Nigerians to beg the President to implement the agreement as begging will not end the crisis. "Begging will not bring any solution. Nigerians should rather beg government to face this agreement squarely and implement it. That is where our future lies," Aremu said, adding that senators could also cut their allowances and contribute them to education for the benefit of all citizens. Also speaking on the issue, the chairman of ASUU, University of Ibadan (UI) chapter, Dr Olusegun Ajiboye, Mark's statement that ASUU will lose public sympathy, if it does not call off its strike, as "a careless talk" because, according to him, the Senate has already lost its credibility among Nigerians over its huge allowances and its perpetual anti- masses stance as opposed to the progressives in the House of Representatives. He also lashed out at the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education, Prof. Sola Adeyeye, over his comments on why a professor will demand payment to supervise postgraduate students, saying people, such as Adeyeye, ought to keep quiet when education is being discussed as "his immediate family members are not in Nigeria with all his children schooling and living abroad, using the millions of public funds being earned by their father in Nigeria to live large abroad. |
GOOD MORNING!!! The deadline given by JAMB for admission this year is now 6 days left, thread mates let keep the faith. list still loading....... 98.9%. |
yes its a breaking news, UNILAG has just released her D.E list for 2013/2014 academic session this afternoon. Even those that attempted with Upper Credit were admitted. 6 (junaid, seyi, Abah, Yemi, stephen and tolu) of my course mate listed. 3 with Distinction nd the others with Upper, they were amazed cos it looks bizzare. But me i say congrats to them all. UI list is like 95.9% loading..... the following have released their de list 1 funaab. 2 unilorin. 3 unilag. 4 uniben. etc. we shall all have reasons to smile at the end. |
long time my people. for those exchanging unpleasant words, haba we dont need it at all. lets pretend it never happend. meanwhile, once d admission list has been sent to jamb office(and approved) one can know his/her own fate even b4 UI releases it. just visit jamb web site, log in ur REG number on the check admission portal, afterwhich you get an instant reply. i sit to be corrected. Best of luck in advance, an elect/elect aspirant. |
THUNDER FIRE this unqualify and incapable minister of the corruption inflicted jonathan led administration. |
chukwudi44: GEJ privatisation of the power sector alone will rubbish everything Obasanjo achieved throughout his tenureguy, you lied. the ongoing strike by ASUU now 100 days and counting shows that gej has nothing to offer Nigerians, cos the bedrock of every nation is education. u and ur president needs medical check. |
just give me the oppourtunity to leave this country, nd i will utilize it. very soon GEJ will say the strike is powered by his political opponents. a failure will always blame others for his responsibilities. GEJ is a replica of BOKO HARAM. |
