yinchar: There is little difference in the ticket prices even at this peak period, you can try out wakanow.com to compare the ticket prices of different airlines, that will surely help. its cheaper wen u book directly with an airline |

MojAyo: wow, seriously,I'm telling u,south africa is nt an easy country,bt it takes hard work and perseverance to make it up there,u dnt tell them about nigerians carrying poster in orita just to pay only rent and feeding, being in a hot scorching sun for d whole day, seeing one client or without seeing anybody, while I was there, there was some jjc dat just come to d country, got milked out of their money frm their fellow nigerians dat ve stayed in sa,and later ended up carrying poster in orita(pretoria central)becos of sufferness, just dat I need to finish my undergraduate course there, dats why I'm going back . Sure,,if you wanna come here,u better pray well.its not easy but you can be lucky.I found out lately the only easy job here are for musicians(guys who play musical instruments) demands for them here is high and the pay is somehow kool for a start 3-5k.apart from that its hard to get jobs here especially when you are a nigerian. |

drumma: I came to south africa on monday and contrary to what a lot of people have been complaining about, no one asked me about my hotel reservation or even bothered to verify.... Reason why that happened i dont know, it could have been because i looked confident cos of the money i was coming to waste here or because i dressed like a cute smart professional that i was or just the fact that im also a travel consultant and i dont see my first time entering a country cld pose a problem when I actually prepare peoe for their own travel.... But then why people have issues at the point of entry I dont know but biko my ass is so out of here on sunday spending 300k on a week aint no joke I wasn't asked also |

sovpounds: I flew to Johannesburg on October 8 and I have been having fun here. I have lived in Europe but I am still impressed with the level of development I have seen here. With the quality of infrastructure and standard of living I have seen here, I think the "rebasing" of the GDP of Naija makes no sense to the average man on the street. Even if the GDP of Naija is higher as a result of the "rebasing" the standard of living of the average person is far higher in SA. I have been continously shocked by several stuff I have seen here and I have been crying for Naija since I got here.
I would return to Naija on October 14, I hope the many beautiful girls with big backsides that I have seen here don't make me extend my 5 day trip. . Lol I guess u will |

drumma: so like i was saying before the ever annoying @justwise closed my thread.... please reasonable people shod advise on details below.
Hello friends,
Here I am again doing my favourite thing of all.... ''finding out''
I am planning a 1 week trip to south africa in about a week or two, this trip was originally supposed to be embarked upon by myself and my colleague so I didn't think there would be any reason for this in the first place until I got caught up in business and she had to go alone during the wallah break.
Going to SA alone would probably be boring.... in fact I have a feeling I will fall sick if i can't at least have fun there reason being that I work 7days a week in Nigeria and practically on my system 20hrs a day trying to sort our clients and all..... thankfully majority of them are out of the country and here is my chance to at least unwind and help my rigid self experience a new vibe.....
I would love to make some resident friends for my one week stay though I'm yet to finalise if i'll wanna stay in jo'burg or cape town...
Any advise would be appreciated.
Ciao . Hit me up.I stay in lyndhurst Johannesburg |

samtol4: The treatment SA immigration usually melt out to Nigerians at times can be traumatic and painful. Few days ago we waited endlessly for our guest who was coming with the family to spend 4days in SA. The drama started from lagos when the SA airline was delayed because of ebola scare and passengers when through tough time. As if that is not enough the immigration at johannesburg method of verifying permit and proof of accommodation was quaint .They asked all passengers(mostly Nigerians) to tend their proof of accommodation (hotel or residential) and they started dialing the numbers of host and hotels to confirm . She tender our numbers and they call us to confirm if we invited her .After 20mins immigration officer call again asking for our permit numbers and we responded .She missed the connecting flight to Durban because of this checking she was asked to pay 600dollars for herself and kids for the next available flight .We encouraged her not to pay any money after hours of waiting till afternoon time ,they gave her tickets. Please if you coming to SA sort out accommodation stuff to avoid deportation .Before it was yellow fever card now it is proof of accommodation they use to deport our people . It is clear most of them dislike Nigerians because of past antecedent. Finally is this how other international airports verify by dialing hosts numbers? Please comments are welcome. I landed at OR Tambo on friday and I was lucky that I wasn't deported.I noticed that Nigerians were closely scrutinised.I came in tru rwanda air.I noticed that other passengers were not checked closely like it was done to us with the Nigerian passport.4 nigerians were deported instantly.we were only 4 Nigerians that were allowed in. When it came to my turn I presented my passport and the guy said-"YOU NIGERIANS ARE HERE AGAIN TO CAUSE PROBLEMS AND DANCE SKELEWU WITH OUR LADIES"-i didn't say a word,,I jst stood there looking at him..he didn't ask me for proof of accomodation..he jst gazed at me then I greeted him in ZULU and he smiled and I walked past. THOSE GUYS ARE CRAZY O.THE LEVEL OF HATE TO NIGERIANS IS REALLY HIGH AND ITS NOT GOOD |

Donxavier: hello house,
It's a family situation that has brought me here, as I am not conversant with SA immigration rules. I believe I can get the help I need here. My sister eloped with a man to SA 14 days ago. She told me a lot of things that i find hard believing, hence why am here. Please help me separate the lies from fact.
1. She said she was given a 5 year visit visa from Nigeria? Can this be true? I just find this very hard to believe especially for a first time traveler. 2. She says the man she's with will change her visiting status to either a study permit or work permit or even refugee status...all of these with supposedly thousands of rand. I know this is Africa and corruption is everywhere but is it really possible thru backdoor means to convert your visiting visa to any of the other long term residency visas inside SA.
The man she's with owns his own business in SA.
please any one with an insight into all these? . Not Possible. I stand to be corrected |

TYPOP: If there is an Arik or SAA stand there, yes, you may book it. You will need two flights, one local (from Waari to Lag) and the other international.
Otherwise, go online to apply and then pay at the bank, or send someone to go to Lagos.
Cheers. . Thx |

yinksob002: They are two different documents. International passport is not the same for all countries hence you have the british passport, american passport, nigerian passport and so on. It is an official document stating the country you come from and other basic personal info needed to travel to other countries. The first step is to go to the nearest passport office depending on where you live and apply for an international passport. You will need to go with your passport photo (2), birth cert. and also fill a form e.t.c. You can visit the passport office in Ikoyi close to Obalende bridge or the one at Festac town. Once your Int'l passport is ready, you can now proceed to the Port health dept. at the airport to obtain a yellow fever vaccination card. The yellow fever vaccination card certifies you free from any yellow fever infection and is an important requirement for SA visa. Note:You will need your International passport and a payment of N1,000.00 to obtain the card.
All the best. . What's the validity of the yellow fever card. |

Vig86: Please I need help!! the girl just told her mother that she has found the person and her mother knows me as a respected person and the least she (her mother) would expect from me is to disappoint her daughter. How I entangled myself into this disturbing web is what I can't trace back. She started by sending friend request to me on facebook some months ago which I accepted. After a while she started sending me greetings each morning which I happily wanted to know the very girl that is preoccupied with my welfare and after a long introduction it happened that she knows me back in the secondary school. She was in J.S.S 1 while I was in S.S 3. I didn't know her but her immediate elder sister was my class mate then. she even told me that I will not know her but she knew me and was like "how are you? You must be a kid since you were in J.J.S 1 then" she said knooooooowwww, I am big girl now ooo in short I am 22 years to be price(her words). Ha! So bla bla bla bla bla bla we became friends blala bla bla bla I can't continue with the relationship and I need your help on the way forward. Please advise me because I am into sh*t right now. She is a good girl but I don't want it now. I need advices on how I will "unhurtfuly" get out of this whole messs. . I am into your kind of situation at the moment.dis girl introduced me to almost all the members in her family up to her grandmother.it got so bad to the ppoint that they start calling me at will.what I intend doing now is to travel out of Nigeria to a far place,,though that's not the main reason for travelling.. |
