I once know a Nigerian army that dont disclose all their plans to the public... a nigerian that defeat many with the element of surprise....I begin to wonder if that same army still exist.

My brother you see one of the most greatest challenge that Nigeriana as a Nation is facing is the use of Cash to buy things around its borders and the world in general. Take of instance,a Nigerian goes to Benin Republic to buy used shoes,with the Nigeria Naira being converted to Cephass,that alone as weaken the Naira,He buys the used shoes,smuggled it to Nigeria makes good profit at the detriment of the economy. Its time for him/her to celebrate because he has made good profit,what is the next step,he goes again to Benin Republic with the raw cash the naira,converts again to Cephas and buys the ankara,foreign beer,and a new car to change his/her status in benin and for the big party in Nigeria. He makes a very great mistake now he smuggles all these things into Nigeria.
We should patronize our goods and one day it will become a standard product,we cant expect everything to be ok at first.
When be begin to buy our own product and export it to even the neighboring countries and the world,our Naira will appreciate greatly.
Let the federal Government close the seme border for just two weeks you will see how the Naira will bounce back,we cannot be improving the economy of another nation by smuggling things in, at the detriment of our own dear country.
As i said earlier the government is critically looking at the non oil sector to drive the economy,Steel,Iron,and other minerals have to be taped,agriculture needs to be given a serious priority.Diversifying the economy is a very crucial issue,it is an economical shift,and if it is not done with great wisdom,the whole economy will collapse.
In addition why on earth should we pay money to the Benin Republic Government for custom duties,when clearing our cars,why cant we used the ports to ship whatever we buy from Benin republic to the Nigeria Ports. The federal government should enforce that,and stiffer measures should be placed on anyone that violates this procedures. It is only Nigeria that i see the government buying arms with millions of dollars in cash,there fore killing the naira.

The rich and not happy because all their accounts are being monitored by the BVN,via the central bank....all accounts are being verified,and it will get to a time where anyone with suspicious accounts will be called upon to make clarifications of how and what they did to make such money.

To strengthen the Naira me and you and most importantly the PRESENT Government needs one or two parts to play,I still believe in Nigeria,we might not live to enjoy the great days,but what of our children and grand children.

I like and totally appreciate mature reasoning and the quest for understanding debates generate. Your view is true but that is not governance, that is politics. It ends at the polls. When you are sworn in you've got to start cashing in on the goodwill to do what is right, not perpetuate what is wrong. The quest for popularity after elections is wrong.

Buhari should take the tough road to restructuring Nigeria, instilling equity and justice, changing the socio-economic scape, diversifying the economy. Granted these are harder to do than 'corruption wars' but these are legacy projects to last far beyond his tenure. I'm afraid the way things are going he will have no legacy and the only hope he has of preventing a total washout of his presidency is oil price rises.

Why can't he set us on the path of economic emancipation. Why.

Yes i agree with you again,diversifying the economy from oil to non oil comes with his own challenges.The president is trying so hard in that regard,for instance the Nigerian custom now generates like 2 billion naira daily,the firs,are generate money too as well as other generating agencies. The is the first time ever that the Nigerian budget will be based on non oil sector,basically driven by taxes. All we need is time and patience,lets give him these and see how things work out.

One of challenges of of the present administration is that it is being so rounded by people who are corrupt themselves. I just pray he gets it right because if he fails Nigeria as a country will fail.

I totally concur with you analysis.However you should see from my own perspective that corruption is Nigeria biggest challenge,fine we have all what it takes to be a big nation,we have the human resources and the resources itself,but still most Nigerians are still lingering in abject poverty.

Believe you me my dear friend,if you are to contest election in your household for a post juicy or not,and you don't give something to your kids,the possibility that you will loose the election in favor of your wife who is ready to give something to your kids is very high,corruption is in Nigeria as become a culture to both the rich and the poor.

When a government tries to fight corruption,it surely will fight back very hard,and that is what is happening,the rich have stocked their accounts with millions of dollars,and the central bank of Nigeria restriction is killing them because most of their monies are trapped in the Nigeria bank,with the introduction of the cbn policies regarding foreign currencies. The introduction of the BVN by the central bank is a very good step,because all the accounts with millions of foreign currencies is being monitored.
In addition, as things are unfolding, we should not be surprise to see people being questioned and scrutinized to the later on how they make their so called millions in dollars,euros and pounds.


It will be tough at first but later the Naira will gain its strength when these so called rich thieves are dealt with...What pains me so much is that, it is the poor that surfers the most,is not that the rich don't surfer but the poor swallow all the pills.

Corruption is a rot in the economy,it has gotten to the stage where drastic measure is highly needed. If corruption is gone for good, Nigeria will be one of the best nations in the world.

I remember in JSS 2 I missed the promotion exams because I was on admission for two weeks while others were writing exams.
My friends were sad because they felt I was going to repeat the class since I didn't write the promotion exams to JSS 3 with them.
When school resumed for the new academic session, my class teacher promoted me to the next class. The Commandant summoned her to come and defend her action.
She simply told the Commandant that I had over 75% attendance and my continuous assessment in all subjects was above 90%. If not because I was sick and on admission at the Military Reference Hospital, I would have written the exams and pass. Base on these she has no choice but to promote me to the next class. Na so I take waka go JSS 3 without any evidence abi na certificate or result sef!
In my third term in SSS 1, your's truly was involved in an accident and I was in the hospital for over three months. I did not write the promotion exams to SSS 2. When school resumed for a new session, I just waka straight to SSS 2 and kontinu from there until I finally wrote WAYEC. At least I have two tishas who can tell the Prinspa that if not because of my accident, I would have actually pass the exams that was conducted. So there is no need to hold me back. Na so e just be.
I would have spent two extra years in secondary school due to unforeseen circumstances if my tishas had not given me a special waiver allowing me to proceed to the next class, when I was unable to write promotion exams in two different occasions.
Obviously there are students who wrote the exams and were asked to repeat the class because their body temperature was below optimal level. In fairness to them, I don't know why they failed but I have come to the realisation that exams is not a true test of knowledge. Most times I hardly have time for my books until few days to the exams and after that I try to detoxify my system and forget all the stuff I have imbibed into the medulla oblongata.
In this part of the world we believe so much in paper qualifications. The Prinspa abi na Headmaster of General Mohammadu Buhari stood surety for him and based on that, he was admitted into the Army, according to a statement credited to the Director of Defence Information (DDI) where he stated that the Military do not have Buhari's certificate, after the same military have previously attested to the fact that they have his papers. I don't know what to believe again gaskiya.

Now based on the surety by Buhari's Prinspa, he was given an all clear nod to join the military. Did he excel in service? Yes of course. He did not only rose to the rank of a Major General, he held strategic positions and even became the Head of State.
So it is really foolhardy for anyone to question Buhari's academic credentials and eligibility for election when it is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that he has more than the required qualification to run for office as President.
It is indeed a shame that the Military has allowed itself to be dragged into this needless controversy. All institutions in Nigeria has been debased and abuse under the regime of Goodluck Jonathan. The military has been struggling to redeem it's image over the protracted battle against insurgency which she has failed to bring to a logical conclusion. Allowing itself to be used by unscrupulous politicians to advance their selfish aims is another low point for the military.
I dismiss the statement credited to the DDI as partisan and call on the military high command to investigate him and mete out appropriate sanctions if he is found culpable. Our military must be insulated from abuse because we cannot afford to have "an Army of anything goes," as former Chief of Army Staff, General Salihu Ibrahim succinctly described the Army at his pulling out parade in 1994.
On a final note, even if Buhari submit Agege bread label as his certificate, we (Buharists) will vote for him!
