Foreign Affairs › Re: The Iran War By US & Israel Megathread by Harnny(m): 4:04am On Mar 16 |
Seun: This thread is dedicated to tracking the ongoing military conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which began on February 28, 2026. Please use this space to share the latest news updates, verified reports, and geopolitical analysis.
Key Developments (as of March 15, 2026):
Outbreak and Leadership: The war started with joint US and Israeli strikes on Iran, one of which killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He has since been succeeded by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.
Military Escalation: The US and Israel have executed thousands of strikes across Iran, recently targeting military and air defense installations on Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export hub. Iran and its allied proxy groups in Lebanon and Iraq have launched waves of retaliatory ballistic missiles and drones at Israel and US bases throughout the region.
Regional Impact & Nigerian Casualties: Gulf states hosting US bases are caught in the crossfire. The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that 141 foreign nationals, including Nigerians residing in the UAE, have been injured by debris and Iranian strikes. Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have also had to intercept dozens of projectiles.
Global Economy: Iran has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz to hostile nations. Over 500 oil tankers are currently trapped in the Persian Gulf, causing global oil and gas prices to spike sharply.
Casualties: More than 1,400 people have been killed in Iran, with thousands of residential buildings damaged. Israel and Lebanon have both sustained significant casualties and infrastructure damage. The US military has reported 13 service member fatalities, including six who died in a KC-135 plane crash in Iraq.
Diplomacy: US President Donald Trump has publicly rejected reaching a ceasefire deal, stating the terms are not yet good enough, and has urged allied nations to send warships to secure the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials have denied asking for negotiations. please change the title. It is US/Israel war on Iran. Iran did not start or initiated the war. |

fineboynl: Those of us who know about intentional politics or have followed international politics with the U.S. can predict that the regime is gone.
No one even knows if the current supreme leader is alive or not. The revolution guide might just be using the photo to control the Iranian people.
Here is the new plan.
Trump is ready to put warships in the Strait of Hormuz. Then men on boots will enter Iran.
Trump already proposed the seizing of Kharg Island. That's an oil island, which they will use to recoup expenses of the war from the Gulf nations. And they all agreed, including Saudi Arabia.
Trump is lobbying the UK and other partners to help open the Strait of Hormuz.
Those that keep saying, "What is the end game?"—the island is now the end game. The Kurdish will be armed and pull from the north. While the U.S. force will push from the south.
France and Britain are joining the force now.
Iran will never remain the same after those terrorists are eliminated.
The endgame is to install back the exiled prince and control that island. This war will be ended as quickly as possible.
Iran is weak right now; don't listen to online warriors. they cannot clear the Homuz but want to settle on the Island? An Island surrounded by extensive Iranian land?... continue. |

esnbrutality: Get your facts rights before going to press with unsubstantiated propaganda.
He already told the UK that the war is already over .. so all the Nonsense UK is doing now is irrelevant.
Uk and france were active when they attacked Iraq...and even libya, so does it make UK now a good country because they delayed in activating support?
EU is a disgrace...in a bid to activate WOKENESS they allowed Islamic jihadists running from prosecution from their fellow Arabs to migrate extensively to Europe. Why didn't they allow you Africans? They believed that the Arabians will bring prosperity because EU as a Colonialist enterprise sees only gains in any relationship.
Elon Musk warned them Trump warned them
Now in Europe radical islamist that naturalized in EU countries are a menace.
The EU, fears a distabilizing protest or uprising will consume them that is why they are being neutral. So stop celebrating NONSENSE, the EU is already a conquered zone.
Nonsense. This is a result of inadequate education or perhaps, lack of self re-education. The throve of middle easterners into Europe is as a result of Europe's action in thier countries. This is the same as the case of Africans in Europe and America. Unfortunately, someone like you will probably have been one of the chiefs selling his people for mirrors just to feel important and aligned with the "powerful". You also mentioned Musk the bloody white supremacist whose fore father's stole our brothers land. You have a lot of cool role models . |

Ebenezer2021: If this news is true then President Donald Trump is the second best gift the God of heaven has given mankind after Jesus Christ. I am so happy with this news. Iran's excesses has been finally checked. Shipping activities in the Strait of Hormuz can now resume. Iran has no sole power over that territory d Are you normal at all?. It is like saying Egypt has no sole power over suez canal. |

tobex99: Do know how many decade that people have acquired dose lands and many of them have will it to there children. You mention C of O as sumtin you can just go to Ministry of Lands and get it once. If you have 10million that don't say you will have ur C of O . This is lagos state and mind you how many of those politicians house in lagos state have C of O in mainland.
Try to go to this area that people house were demolish, there some houses that have their C of O and yet dey are destroy. When Lagos state destroy ur property can they reward you with the value of the property. Don't let us deceive ourselves. They are making life difficult for the poor and this are the people they use for their election Not making excuses for these actions but quite a number of people do not do due diligence when purchasing landed properties. I tried asking about the situation at mile12 and someone told me that the land belongs to the government but was still sold to the people by the locals. This could be the case and this might not. I remember mum telling me she once wanted to buy land around Ajelogo and after her findings. She found out after visiting the survey office that the whole area is government acquired. This is decades ago and people bought those lands and have been living there. There was inadequate verification process then and quite a number of people fell victim. Even on our street then at Alapere, she will say some houses are sitting on canal path and she mentioned quite a lot of them. I have witnesses those houses passed through different owners and some inherited. Yet, when the government comes knocking, it will be a tragedy all over. This is not to escuse what is happening in mile12 but a lot of these is due to people not making adequate findings and the government also not working properly to stop construction of illegal structures at the local level. |

tobex99: Go there when you reach there you will know may be the government reach there or not. Is dada street gengere..... This people started opposite the filling station at maidan road. When you get there you will see how many homes where destroyed and this people are still telling them that they have not see anyting. that all the maidan road have been awarded to them to build estates A lot might have changed but I remember that dada street being weird as shit. However, I know a lot of solid houses are on Maidan and Ayisatu streets. regardless, none of the homes should be demolished if they do have a C of O and they bought properly. |

tobex99: Good you really know mile 12. and is that the place they first destroy on December 15th. is Ayisatu street and Maidan street part of gengere . i guess you are part of people collecting money from politicians. You read the article, will funsho williams pay some one in the government ministry to get a land their. These are street that have good road network. Do you even know what they call residential area and shanty area.... Gengere is shanty area and Ayisatu and Maidan is a residential area. By their words we shall know them. We believe one day God judgement will be on people using political power on good citizens of lagos state Weird, Is Ayisatu and Maidan mentioned in your initial write up? You article said back of mile12 market. not beside. those 2 are beside it. If I remember clearly, those are actual homes and I do not think the government should be demolishing homes there. |
Politics › Re: Mile 12 Residents Cry Out Over Unending Demolition Of Their Properties by Harnny(m): 10:42am On Mar 11 |
Behind mile12 market?. No sane person can walk past that place after 9pm and walk out complete. The whole area is a shanty of drug dealers and touts of different origins. Who lives in that type of environment?. Is this not the place they call gengere or something like that. This is almost synonymous to people protesting over the clear out of Makoto. |

iichidodo: Folks don't understand how deep the US and Israel have infiltrated the Iranian deep state,it's crazy y'all..Iran has been reduced to the likes of Hezbollah and Hamas, a whole sovereign nation with alliances from Russia and China, they can't use their skies without permission, they can't use their coasts without permission..All it will take to crush Iran finally is to institute a complete blockade of Iranian seaports and coasts just like what Rome did to Carthage during the Punic Wars, there will be no imports or exports for Iran, their economy will crash like Zimbabwe, baby food will be very expensive. As well as emplace a complete No Fly Zone, this is where F-35s ,F22s F-15Es from US and Israel will run CAPs (Combat Air Patrols) over all of Iranian airspace, anything that moves (even tolotolo) gets shot down just like how they reduced Saddam Hussein in the 90s... Therefore if Iran want to maintain their integrity, they best select a leader with the blessings of Donald Chigozie Trump.. So tell me, how sustainable is that? |

Every Yoruba child between 1-10 years old can't even speak common Yoruba language. You see their parent speaking English language to them.
Many Christians banned Yoruba language, and recently many Muslim home too, Arabic is their official language at home too.
YORUBA E RONU OOOOO. Your language is your identity. this was the norm. However, the current generation are reversing the trend. |

I was thinking Trump will be a little bit more sensible than the warmongering democrats but No. He appears to have doubled down without regards for the effects his actions will have on de-dollarization. it is a zero sum game. If you target my source of dominance, I would rather we both go down. Settlement outside the usd is a big no. The usd becomes irrelevant and people will ask for tangible backing.
