The the ottoman empire took over. The ottoman are present day Turkey. Still it was just a colony. Both Arabs and Jews continued to migrate to the land. Arabs migrated at a larger population but there was never an Arabic nation, it was still just a colony.

Israel has a right to protect its people from the Palestinians and Just because the West Bank is safer than Gaza does not mean it's perfect for the Jews. Don't forget that there is still a cold war ongoing in the West Bank.
We have seen people in other conflict areas, the people of the West Bank are the most pampered and spoilt than people in any other conflict area. Israel has conceded too much more without getting anything in return. I think Israel has been super fair. No other nation will pamper their enemies the way Israel pampers the people of the West Bank.
