The idf are an arm of government charged to defend their state. A state in today's world is perpetual and reserves the right to protect it's territorial integrity and to provide security of lives and property. They are not the same my brother. The idf carries our orders given to it by it's legitimate political leadership. They have no choice of their own except in the method of executing the mandate given to them. They are two polar instances. I am not approving the killing of harmless people in any way but for me I don't think individuals enjoy the same rights or mandates to take life except the state in certain circumstances.
