PCR Before Arrival in TRNC: Updates

Now some of the flights have been booked and students are ready to arrive. 25 students already got the flights booked for first and second week Sept. Also, kindly send your PNR number before arrival as its needed by embassy upon arrival.

Most important:

People travelling from Category C countries (Nigeria inclusive) are obliged to submit a valid PCR test result (done within the last 3 to 5 days before they travel) while entering TRNC. A second PCR test will be done to Category C passengers and they will be put in a 14-day quarantine in the quarantine by their universities. A third PCR test will be done following the end of the 14-day quarantine period.

Please get your PCR before you fly. Am informed that FAAN will release the approved hospitals for the test today or tommorrow and cost nearly 60k naira
.......60k for PCR.. .. Haaaa nigeria. .. sad sad

Actually all universities does not specify that a particular program will accept a particular exam.

Attached here is the main requirement for undergraduate admission.

Meanwhile, you can apply for any program you want at any university with your Nabteb; the university will inform you if is acceptable. So give it a try.

Best wishes
.....thanks alot. God bless you

Students have done OKTB from Lagos but due to many over charging and bribes demanding from those immigration officials at the airport is making it too expensive.

Also, generally Nabteb results not accepted for many courses. NECO, WAEC or GCE are preferred.
......please what other courses are accepting nabteb ??

Please, I know we constantly hear that there is no job (this information cuts across several countries). But is it possible for one to earn just enough for feeding and accomodation while studying in North Cyprus?

Also, is online business allowed as a student in the country? (Legit o)

You can come to Cyprus from First week of September just like any other students since university starts towards end of September...so no need coming in August by then we are still in summer period.

You may be able to do the OKTB anywhere but I have only done that for my students from Abuja, Dubai and UK for legal resident in those countries. I think it will depend if Turkish airline offer such service from there as you can only use OKTB with Turkish airline.
......what about lagos ?? Is okto board done in lagos?

COVID-19 Travel Procedures for TRNC for students and others

People entering TRNC are categorized according the countries they are travelling from. The measures implemented by the TRNC Ministry of Health regarding the Covid-19 on the arrival to the TRNC and, the list of categorized countries are as follows:

1. People coming to the TRNC from countries in Category B will be able to enter the country by showing the negative PCR test results they have done between three and five days prior the start of the trip. A second PCR test will be done to such individuals while entering to the TRNC and these individuals are to self-quarantine themselves either in the hotels/dormitories or in a house where they will be staying following their arrival until the PCR test results are back.

2. People travelling from Category C countries are obliged to submit a valid PCR test result (done within the last 3 to 5 days before they travel) while entering TRNC. A second PCR test will be done to Category C passengers and they will be put in a 14-day quarantine in the quarantine centers specified by the Ministry of Health or university dormitories for students free of charge. A third PCR test will be done following the end of the 14-day quarantine period.

Note: Except Mauritius all other African countries are in Category C.

.....thanks for the update. ...now we know where we belong .... grin

You have to apply for a visa before airline can fly you or immigration can allow you in both Turkey and Cyprus. Paying tuition does not confer you automatic right to be admitted into Cyprus even if you are issued visa does not mean you will be allowed entry to Cyprus.

Anybody can have a visa to any country but does not mean the person can enter that country; only immigration of that country decides who enters or not. Many with visas have been deported upon arrival.

The embassy is located in Abuja and you can easily apply for the visa is a simple thing to do.

So visit Turkish embassy website Abuja for procedure for a visa; but as am currently informed Turkish migration authority who linked between the embassy and the university has not notified university for them to send names for upcoming semester.

Alternatively, you may fly via Ok-to-board without needing to apply for a visa but this may be expensive as it requires a return flight. Also, the ok-to-board current policy is not clear yet because only Turkish airline approves.

However, in few weeks Immigration in Turkey and Cyprus, university rep amd ministry will be having a meeting to formulate regulations/policy on New students arrival for this upcoming semester. Then it will be cleared.
...many with visas have been deported back ??really ..why is that ....them carry drug ni abi wetin ..I don't understand why you'll have visas and still be deported back ..pls give reason ....God bless u

From my personal experience, it takes 12-72hrs from USA for the money to reflect in TRNC banks because there often no correspondent/intermediary banks ......wait for the university to update you!
.....what about UBA bank in nigeria ...?do you have any idea of how many days it will take??

New semester starts in September, no students irrespective of nationality can come to Cyprus this period even if no Corona considering the fact that student can only be registered during the entry period this way such student can get the residency permits.

So it’s too early for any student to come to Cyprus now. Students often starts to arrive from end of August.

Due to this pandemic; Immigration is yet to pass conditions or rule to any university as to when students are allowed into the country or if any student will be allowed this year.
......there are rules already though ...but they might add to it or remove from it .....check out voiscyprus on instagram. .they r fully updated....
