Politics / Osun Judge Not A Husband Snatcher – Group by harosho07(m): 5:18am On Aug 26, 2015
The Civil Societies Coalition for Emancipation of Osun
State has risen in defence of Justice Folahanmi
Oloyede, who one Mrs. Emily Richard-Obire, accused
of snatching her husband.
The group in a statement made available to our
correspondent on Tuesday said it had investigated
and found out that Justice (Mrs.) L.A.M. Folami of
Ikeja High Court had since dissolved the marriage
between the woman and her former husband.
In the statement signed by Chairman and its Director
of Mobilisation, Adeniyi Sulaiman and Rev.
Theophilus Ayodeji, the group said going by the
query dated July 28, 2015 issued to the judge by the
National Judicial Council, it appeared that the NJC
was falling into the antics of politicians by turning the
body into a customary court where marital issues
were settled.
They said the woman’s former husband was free to
fall in love with anybody he chose, while criticising
the woman’s counsel, Mr. Femi Falana, for allegedly
digging up the case to discredit the judge.
The group accused Falana of working for Governor
Rauf Aregbesola to disparage the judge because of
her petition to the House of Assembly that the
governor should be impeached.
The statement read, “Our group has thoroughly
investigated that matter and found out that Mr.
Falana was a lawyer to Mrs. Richard-Obire in the
divorce case filed with her husband, Mr. Ricahrd
Obire in 2012 at an Ikeja High Court in Lagos.
“Already, the case with suit number ID/473HD/2012
has been decided and the court, presided over by
Justice (Mrs) L.A.M. Folami had legally dissolved this
marriage between Mrs Emily and her former
husband and so the case remained closed. We
believe that by the law of the federation, Mr. Obire
has the right in the world to love whomever he wants
and to marry anyone without any prejudice.
“Our group has it on good authority that Emily’s
husband, Mr. Richard Obire, had to file a divorce
case because he caught his wife (Emily) having an
extra- marital affair with another man outside their
wedlock in Ikeja, Lagos State in year 2010.
“(Although) we are sure that the woman judge was
able to defend herself as our check at the state High
Court indicated that she had replied to this query
through the office of the Chairman of the State
Judicial Commission.”
The coalition said members of the group were not
surprised that politicians were fighting dirty because
of the courage of the judge to tackle the governor
based on issues of financial recklessness, but said it
was surprised that the NJC allowed itself to be used
by these unscrupulous politicians.
The statement further read, “We raised the alarm few
weeks ago about the over N4.7billion being raised
through Operation Save Rauf Aregbesola Project to
bribe the NJC members and other stakeholders
against Justice Oloyede and with the recent
happenings, we hope that the NJC will be able to
watch its linen clean in the messy Osun affairs.
“Is it not an irony that several serious issues and
many petitions bordering on judicial misconduct
against many judges across the country are before
the NJC unattended to, yet, the NJC had all the time to
intervene in a marital matter of Justice Oloyede.
“If this matter had been on with Justice Oloyede since
2011 as claimed by Mrs. Emily Obire, why was she
coming out now in 2015 to send a petition to the NJC
and at a time she was fighting this battle with Mr.
Rauf Aregbesola?
“Justice Oloyede has the right to love and marry
whoever she wants under the law and has the right to
practise her religion without any hindrance. We
wonder how many family matters NJC will need to
settle among several judges in the federation.
“We understand the diversionary tactics of
Aregbesola and his cronies over the weighty
evidences of corruption presented by this erudite
judge against the governor. But for the NJC to have
fallen into this trap beats our imagination as coalition
of civil societies.”

In what appears to be a government sponsored Drivers Union protest, all major roads in Ado-Ekiti were blocked by the protesters making smooth passage of vehicles within the metropolis very difficult. They are protesting the insistence by the 19Lawmakers to continue the impeachment proceedings. This is obviously fueled by the decision of the Federal High court,Abuja to allow the proceedings to go on.

Meanwhile in preparation for the total locked down the state govt announced this morning that all workers(civil servants) should stay at home on an artificial holiday to "PRAY" for Fayose.

The chief security of the state is the one putting the state under lock and key.

DaMina Advisors, a leading provider of risk advisory services for emerging markets registered in five countries, with a focus on Africa, has predicted a victory for the APC presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, in the 14 February 2015 presidential elections.

Using its VERITAS Frontier Markets Electoral Forecast Statistical Model, the firm predicted a close election, with an eventual victory for Buhari by 700,000 votes, with both candidates meeting the second constitutional requirement of getting at least 25% of the vote in 24 of the 36 states of the Federation.

The extent of voting possible in the North East is expected to play a key role in the outcome of the poll, with the firm citing a run-off as a possibility.

According to the report, Buhari’s victory will likely see him snatching the commercial capital, Lagos, away from the opposition as well as racking up double digit gains in the Muslim north and single digit gains in the south western ethnic Yoruba states.

“Jonathan is set to maintain his very high margins in the oil producing Niger Delta south-south region, his home region, as well as strong margins in the eastern pan-ethnic Igbo states. Jonathan will likely also hang on to some religiously mixed middle-belt northern states adjoining the capital, Abuja. However abandoned by his political godfather, influential former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and beset by an active Boko Haram insurgency in the north eastern parts of the country that has sapped his middle class and female support even in many southern Christian states, Jonathan is poised to likely receive a cold Valentine’s Day gift of ejection from the presidential palace at Aso Rock in Abuja. Jonathan’s defeat, if it happens, will be unprecedented in Nigeria’s political history.

“A Buhari win on the 14th followed by a strong showing by the opposition All
Progressives Congress (APC) party at the 28th February governorship races will see Nigeria edge closer and closer to a more normal bifurcated two-party system with the APC on the center-left and the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on the center-right.

“While the complex and tortured histories of both parties is too long to recount here, essentially while the APC looks to the build a strong decentralized managed capitalist social democratic state, with a slight leftward PanAfrican tilt towards China-Russia; the PDP looks to continue its generally centralized, pro-Western neoliberal free market capitalist democratic state, with a more insular Pan Nigerian nationalist neo-colonial tilt.”

Politics / Re: BREAKING: Katsina College Releases Buhari’s WASC Results by harosho07(m): 5:42pm On Jan 21, 2015
EngrAbiola:
Government College, formerly Provincial Secondary School, Katsina, which Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, graduated from in 1961, has released Mr. Buhari’s secondary school certificate examination results.

buha (1)

The results, obtained exclusively by PREMIUM TIMES Wednesday, confirm Mr. Buhari’s claim that he undertook the University of Cambridge West African School Certificate Examinations and obtained five credits in English Language, Geography, Hausa Language, History, and Health Science.

PREMIUM TIMES obtained the computer printout from Cambridge University as well as a statement of result, signed by the current principal of Katsina College, dated January 21, 2015.

The results show that Mr. Buhari, a former military head of state, failed in Mathematics and Woodwork, and had a pass in Literature in English.

The examination centre number was 8280 while Mr. Buhari’s candidate number was 002.

The statement of results is printed on the letter head paper of the Katsina State Ministry of Education, and it shows that the examination took place in 1961.

The Cambridge print out also shows the result of 17 other candidates at the centre, including Shehu Yar’adua, a former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters.

Controversy over Mr. Buhari’s result escalated Tuesday after the Nigerian Army, which had earlier admitted to having a copies of his certificate, reversed itself saying it could not even attest to the details listed in his records.

The spokesperson of the Army, Olajide Laleye, said “Neither the original copy, certified true copy (CTC) nor statement of result of Major-.Gen. Mohammadu Buhari‘s WASC result is in his personal file.”

He said while it is the practice in the Nigerian Army that before candidates are shortlisted for commissioning into the officers’ cadre of the service, the selection board verifies the original copies of credentials as presented, “There is no available record to show that this process was followed in the 1960s.”

The military’s comments came after the retired general had said that his lost copies of results were with the Army, an explanation he gave ahead of elections February 14.

Politics / Plot To Attack Buhari’s Convoy In Ekiti Uncovered by harosho07(m): 6:14pm On Jan 19, 2015
… It’s not true – PDP

The Ekiti State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday said it had uncovered an alleged plot by agents of Governor Ayo Fayose to attack the convoy of its presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, who visits the state for a rally on Saturday.

The party alleged that thugs have been mobilized to ambush convoys of APC members on their way to the venue of the campaign rally and cause mayhem on the day of the rally.

The APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Taiwo Olatunbosun, in a statement on Monday said some Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) members have been recruited as “task force members” who has commenced the task of removing the posters of Buhari from where they were pasted ahead of Saturday.

Olatunbosun said the posters were being removed despite the fact that the party had paid signage fees to the state Signage Agency, describing the action as “highest height of desperation.”

The APC spokesman alleged that Fayose had already hired members of OPC with alleged help by the self-styled Speaker of the House of Assembly, Dele Olugbemi, himself a member of Dr. Fredrick Fasheun’s faction of the group, to attack the convoys of APC members on their way to the rally as PDP did in Rivers State.‎

The OPC members, the party said, were engaged as task force men remove the posters of APC candidates. They are also to strike at the campaign grounds to cause stampede, the party alleged.

“Fayose’s desperation knows no bounds. He took The Punch front page advertorial on Monday depicting that Buhari will die in office like three other Presidents from the North died in office.

“This is dangerous for our national unity and ethnic harmony. Fayose is dangerous to Nigeria’s unity and the earlier the authorities, Nigerians and Ekiti people in particular appreciate this, the better for us as a nation,” Olatubosun explained.

He said the OPC members were already in town to be deployed to entry points to Ado-Ekiti where they would ambush APC members on their way to the campaign grounds.

Olatunbosun revealed that so far, the government-backed OPC men had removed Buhari’s posters pasted in his campaign office in Ado-Ekiti as well as those pasted in the party’s office in the state capital.

“This is a clear case of undermining the peace pact brokered by eminent international leaders last week‎.

“It is sad that after President Jonathan campaigned in Ekiti State, Fayose sent signage officials and OPC thugs to be removing our candidates’ posters after paying necessary fees to the agency.

“Fayose’s hatred for Buhari knew no bounds, as his aide was behind a fake medical report on Buhari, declaring him as a prostate cancer patient.

“Fayose’s aide forged the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital‎ letter and forged the signature of a non-existent consultant to declare Buhari as a prostate cancer patient,” he stated.

But the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) described the allegation as a “figment of APC allegation,” saying it harbors no plan to attack a candidate whose campaign is being trailed by health challenges and certificate controversy.”

The PDP Secretary in the state, Tope Aluko, absolved Fayose of the alleged plot, saying the governor is busy leading the party’s campaign for its national and state Assembly candidates.
