Alright thanks a bunch.

From the best of my knowledge, I don't think your application can be rejected because you've never traveled before, but if you've applied for a Schengen visa before and was rejected base on illegalities which put a red flag on your application in their system, that might be a problem sha.

Good day Nairalanders, and welldone to everyone contributing on this page, God bless you all.
I have a few questions that I'd like to get clarifications on:
1.) does Vfs handle German visa application? (a friend was arguing with me so I wanted to be sure)

2.) does travel history affect one's chances of getting the German study visa? (e.g like can the application of someone who has never traveled out be rejected)

I'll appreciate if I can get answers to this. Thanks

VISUM ALERT!!!

My story is a very unique one. It's kind of long but I will try to make it as short as possible.

Getting my visa took me 292 days counting from my AD, and I can tell you it wasn't all rosy.

My first admission was for August 2018, I got the enrollment letter ending of June. I tried to secure an AD at the ebmassy but I couldn't get an early date, the best date I got was December 03, 2018 and I booked it, good enough my school was able to give me a new enrollment date for February 11, 2019.

I tried putting my documents together early enough in preparation for the AD, but unfortunately, the source of my BA funds was not forthcoming, I had to look for other alternatives.

I still could not get the funds for my BA as at the day of my interview but went for the interview in good faith.

my family member and they promised him that it will be processed the same day.

Danke schoen!!!
Woahhh... such a powerful testimony, you just gave me another reason not to give up yet, I tap into your testimony ijn.
Congratulations, go to DE amd prosper grin grin

Did u tick scholarship box while applying? The VO should have told you what you did wrong before asking you to leave. It is well oo
Alexanderyombo:
I applied for my visa appointment date on July 24, 2019, my appointment was scheduled to be September 12th, 2019 by 7.00a.m.
I got to the German Embassy as early as 6:30a.m for my interview, have all my documents well arranged. It came to my turn for the ( V.O ) to interview me ;

V.O :- Please may I have application forms
Me :- I gave it to her
V.O :- She referenced my registration which was on July 24, 2019 and asked me which organization is sponsoring me

Me:- I told her am using blocked account that am not on scholarship.. She insisted, asking me to bring out my sponsorship proof, I was confused because I am very sure that am using blocked account for my subsistence to live in Germany. I tried to explain and plead with her that my school is resuming by October 1, 2019 and have been enrolled. Unfortunately, she didn't attend to me because I couldn't give her the proof of sponsorship. Lo and behold, I was misled due to my ignorance about the whole application processes, based on the wrong information given to me when filling the Visa appointment reservation online.

Immediately, on my way back home in a sad mood. I rebooked for another appointment under Category A because I met one of the criterias listed but am concerned mostly about when the Appointment Date will arrive because my School will be resuming OCTOBER 1st.

Please brothers and Sisters, I need a powerful way forward, I need my Appointment Date back ASAP..... Thanks for your response

I'm sooo sorry about this situation, I know it hurts but I believe there's always light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for the advice and hope to hear more from you, we shall have our testimonies too very soon smiley smiley
Donfal80:
We are in the same shoe man. I had booked for appointment since May and I already blocked my account with some amount just to wait for date and complete the rest but AD no show. Nothing will happen to the money it's still yours and I always receive emails from Fintiba per time concerning my blocked account. Just a single mail will do for them to your intentions
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Haryanfhe: 5:24am On Sep 13, 2019
I was thinking of deferring my admission till next year but the blocked account was getting me worried, now that I knkw I can leave the money there, I'm kinda relieved. Thanks so much i know it will all end in praise.
lexi28:
hi, you will need a letter from the embassy stating that you will no longer be going to Germany, were denied a visa or cancelled your visa application. you will forward this mail to the bank you funded with. money will be reversed/refunded to the account you initially sent it from.

my advice? if money is not on loan, and you still want to go to Germany, leave it there. if you withdraw it and are not disciplined, needs will arise that will prompt you to spend it. when the BA is required again, then the hustle starts again?

but, its your money. feel free to do as you please. cheers

A lot of stories but it ended in praise having struggled since 2017. 1 visa rejection, three weeks sleepless night to get AD and a long waiting of 12 weeks to get AM.
I wish to acknowledge every single effort & selfless dedication any member of this noble group have rendered towards my success stories. Ich liebe sie alle.
I will still encourage us not to hesitate to lift others knowing that it is by lifting that we will be lifted.
AXA Marsurd is good for traveling insurance and it is cheaper. I used 92 days for three months @ #14,307.03.
For booking of flight, download either sky scanner or studentuniverse from your app store. Use them to check your suitable date of departure. (use one-way) to economise your money and book at your convenience.
I pray God to bless everyone else who is expecting AL,AD,BA,AM and Visa. Amen

The question I will ask you is,
1. Do you stay in Abuja or any Northern parts..
2. Does your AL address carries the Abuja or Northern parts address.. Or better check those States that are qualified to have interview in Abuja.

If both are YES.. Go ahead and book your interview in Abuja.. But mind you, they only process MSC and Scholarships in Abuja Embassy.
NO to both questions, I'm just desperate at this point

would be better you provide other details like when you booked, date you supplied as your start date, category you booked etc. And also, it has been said that if you can’t provide proof of residence in Abuja, you may be bounced so tread with caution. All the best!
Thanks, I booked on the 26th of June, start date 1st of October, Category A, enrollment extension 31st October.
I'm just tired of waiting and really scared I would loose this admission with the way things are going now, that's why I was thinking Abuja ☹️☹️

If you have your enrollment extended then you can cancel and book with the new date. Abuja hardly handle's student visa so I don't see any advantage booking with that
Thanks so much, I appreciate your reply

Hello Nairalanders, I'm new in here, though I've been going through this thread. I booked for visa appointment since June but till now, no date has been released. My enrollment deadline is October 1st, please what are my best options?
Should I keep hoping, cancel and rebook or defer my admission?
I would really appreciate all advice/help I can get.

Thank you.

I have been following this thread from part 5 up to this moment . I have never had a reason to post because I read ALL the pages. The answers for all questions are in this thread only if people can read . Well , why I’m writing right now is because I can see people panic about AD . I and my 2 other guys have tried booking with this method and we got date within 48 hours . Book between 1:10am to 1-15am . And preferably with a laptop .
Note : we all book this week (between Monday and Wednesday) and 2 of us got dates for July . The other that got September date used November as enrollment deadline .
Waohh, please when did you book the appointment, because I've booked since June and no date yet. Please help ☹️☹️
