Yusuf Hassan Wada is a 21-year-old, Nigerian with a knack for advocacy on Drug Abuse, Public Health issues, Youth Involvement and Journalism. Yusuf is also a Writer, Columnist, Social Media Expert, Young Scientist and a Researcher. He is currently a Final Year Student in Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto and an author on numerous reputable local and international newspapers.

Yusuf is a native of Katsina, Katsina State. He is currently an Advocate and Ambassador of Drug Abuse, Programme Coordinator of Alhannan Charity which led the Sensitization and Lectures series to over 20 schools in First Phase which was reported and covered by Daily Trust, SwanK Pharm and KatsinaPost aimed to provide the opportunity to help change societal, government and industry policies and to help educate the general public mainly youth on the needs, rights and struggles of addict and those in recovery.

He also serves as an Executive Member of Arewa Drug Free, National PRO and Chairman Public Enlightenment Committee of National PANS, Principal Editor PEN PRESS UDUS, Coordinator, Publicity subcommittee of 7th African Pharmaceutical Symposium (AfPS). He's a member of so many professional bodies like National Association of Campus Journalist (NACJ), Member PANS, IPSF, Editor in Chief (The Versatile Magazine), International Asssociation of Public Health Logisticians (IAPHL).

He sought to have top certificates from top Universities like the Addiction Medicine Diploma Certificate from University of British Columbia (Bristish Columbia Centre on Substance Abuse), Certificate Course on Governance and Health from USAID, Certificate on Health Financing for Universal Health coverage from the World Health Organization (WHO), Certificate in Public Health Principles in Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Repose- Cohort 8 from the Department of Continuing Education University of Oxford, Certificate, Graduate and Alumnus Global Health Pharmacy Certificate Course Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria in Conjunction with London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He also holds a Certificate in Nigerian National Code for Health Research Ethics pf Center for Bioethics and Research, Nigeria and the University of Miami, Diploma ICT (Web Design & Development) from the Pinnacle View ICT In conjunction with Federal Ministry of Information Abuja, Nigeria.

His papers have been accepted on so many conferences like the AfPS 2018 abstract, IPSF Phuture Substance 2019 on "Drug and Substance Abuse: Changing roles on Pharmacist", with currently having 3 papers under review and a survey undergoing. He have also published over 15 articles on Nigerian National Dailies such as Daily Trust, Thisday, Vanguard, Swankpharm.

Among his top articles published are"Perils of Drug Hawking", "Dangers of Skin Bleaching among Nigerians", "Drug Hawking and Medicine Sellers in Nigeria: Metaphor of our damnable seriousness", "On rape cases in Nigeria", "Telling ourselves the truth about drug abuse", "World Cancer Day: A Preventable menance", "The Menace of Counterfeit Drugs", "The Growing Problem of Shisha" among others published by National Dailies.

Because of his broad and profound knowledge
of so many themes on Drug Abuse and other Public health issues, his several years in
activism and advocacy, his own experiences, his liberalism, his admiration of life , his astuteness , his humour, his attention to detail , and of course
his superlative way with writing, every column feels knowledgeable by all of who he is and what he knows and thinks and feels , and reading him is pure contentment.

Yusuf is already a myth in Nigerian Youth Public Health Advocacy circles as a star and one of the most exceptional youth. How he constantly
writes so well, always with bright, engaging and interesting ideas and expressions, week
after week is incredible to many and me as well . He is a doyen of Nigerian Public Health Advocacy.

My brother you said it all. Usmanu Danfodiyo is a great institution that parades the best brains, good structures and everything a federal university should have but unfortunately it is not given the recognition it should have. this is a University that is supposed to be mentioned alongside ABU Zaria, OAU and other top federal universities but that is not so. I dont know whether to attribute it to the conservative nature and cultural orientation of the school environment. Yes the school is termed the most peaceful university in Nigeria, of course they earned it but they have inadvertently become 'the most silent' too. so na who their peace help? It is high time we the graduates of this great institution do something to save her image by pushing her to the lime light.

Pls, what's the minimum CPGA requirement for Agbami Medical Scholarship For Pharmacy students.

UDUS student union president and financial secretary
suspended over misconduct/ money issues!
It was a steaming hot avenue as the president of the
Student Union, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, sokoto
Comrade Umar Farouq Sa'id and the financial secretary were
both suspended for 6 weeks and eight weeks respectively.
The financial secretary was suspended due to lack of
adequate information on the financial status of the student
union and for paying a sum of N41000 belonging to the
student union into his own personal account. Despite several
warnings by the SRA he reportedly showed a non challant
attitude leading to his suspension. The motion for the
suspension was made by Hon Akewushola Khadijah and
Seconded by comrade Ishola Abubakar.
The president was however suspended for not giving
adequate/correct information on some events he attended
during the break. He reportedly sent letters indicating that he'll
be attending conferences in Abuja and portharcourt, however
the venues he gave and the details of the events we proven to
be false after investigations. The president also reportedly
spent N40000 for accomodation at an event in which
accomodation was said to have been free.
Responding to the allegations the president stated that his
brain was not a computer and he could not remember where
the conference in portharcourt was held, neither could he
remember the account from which N40000 was paid. The
Speaker of the SRA however stated that the suspensions were
done in accordance to the constitution of the school.
The President claimed that his withdrawal of the,N40000
was a suggestion of the dean student affairs, and he threatened
to challenge the decision of the house.
Honourable Yusuf Habeeb
A member of the student representative assembly from the
faculty of pharmaceutical sciences Honourable Yusuf Habeeb
has stated that the house would have involved the Economic
and financial crimes commission EFCC in the case involving
the SU president presenting inadequate information to the
house but they tempered justice with mercy. He however stated
that the university's Zero Tolerance club would be involved in
the investigations.

We keep our fingers crossed as we watch the issues
unfold
