With this 3 feet depth foundation, what's the minimum number of courses of blocks that can be laid to have only one course above the ground level?

Actually, Engineers should be consulted for construction projects on ground to decide because in some cases even a professional may not be able to direct appropriately if he or she did not visit the site.



Note: It should be the engineer's discretion at the site.

However, in an area that have a good soil, foundation for a duplex are likely going to be 1m or there about including the column base depending the calculated load both dead and live load. That will give you like 4 courses for a low foundation (height) and 6 to 7 courses or more for a high foundation (height).

I thought you talked about having one door from the anteroom to the Living room and then another door from the same anteroom to the lobby?

My observations:
1. Kitchen in 1 bed flat has no exit door or veranda. I know this is similar in design to most self contained apartments with only one entry and exit door, but I personally prefer my kitchen to have a separate exit door.

2. No kitchen stores

3. Laundry has no door

4. I personally prefer a living room that one wouldn't need to pass through anytime one wants to step out through the front door, so I'd prefer my ante room opening directly into the lobby rather than into the living room.

5. I'm guessing there is no door between the living room and lobby in the 3 bed flat, and if that's the case then ventilation in the lobby should be taken care of. However, I believe u may need to provide for some source of daylight in the inner parts of the lobby, like maybe glass blocks on the wall separating lobby and laundry.

The structural design indicated the use of 20mm diameter rods for the colunms and 12mm diameter rods for the colunm bases.

Are there circumstances where 12mm can be used for both the bases and the columns?

Can Electrical Fittings be fixed before plastering?
For example, you have done the conduit piping and ceiling. Can you go ahead with the fittings and then do the plastering later?

4 coarses is not entirely bad depending on your natural road level. The road here is not tarred or worked upon yet. So I took into consideration future road development on this particular project. Though that costed us additional 2 Trips of filling sand from the estimated 6 Trips. We now did 8 trips of 20 Tons filling sand.

So check your road level before concluding yours.

Foundation height from natural ground is about 900mm.

When we do German floor (site concrete slab) - It will be 1050mm above the ground.

It all depends on what the building plans specify. A duplex foundation is usually 1 meter deep. So there should be about 3 blocks below ground level when we consider the concrete blinding. This is for dry ground only.

Apologies I didn't give an update for a while. I haven't been around but glad to be here.
Well, they clocked 7 weeks on Tuesday and unfortunately, one passed on .
I noticed it had emanciated and grew lean. Underneath one of it's wing was darkened as if there was no blood in it.
I gave them all a mixture of antibiotics, anti-coccidiossis and multivitamins but it seemed it had been infected heavily as it grew weaker.
So, the following day, I had to put it out of the misery.
Population now 49.

Yesterday, I noticed another one was not looking as strong as the others . On closer examination, I saw that it wasn't looking healthy, it was eating and drinking but was lacking stamina and couldn't struggle with others.

So, I dashed to the vets and bought some anti-coccidiossis, anti-CRD ( some were acting as if their nasal were blocked) and antibiotics, measured a teaspoon each, added multivitamins and mixed all up with water.

That's what they're drinking now.

Here are pictures of a few at 7 weeks.

So sorry for the loss bro.
