Why guests toilets are positioned in the foyer or lounge areas of the buildings usually is to maintain privacy, owing to the fact that foyers and lounge are a semi public area where guests have not too restricted access. It is only right to place the toilets there to avoid the guests getting to know what goes on in other parts of the building which might be private.

A smelly and unkept guest toilet is a function of hygiene and not an Architectural failure, after all people go to toilets of big hotels and establishments to take pictures and dress up. A guest that messes up your toilet should not get an invite another day lol.

Yes Boss, After laying 24 eggs, the hen started incubating yesterday evening.

Factors to encourage them to go broody

1) Encourage foraging as early as 8 - 12 weeks.

2) Don't lock them up in a cage for long hours, let them have access to sunlight and a natural environment

3)Buy a minimum of a pair, chickens are social creatures, being alone will not make them so lively.

4)When you notice the hen has reached 4 - 5 months , watch out for the egg-song, where she lays her first egg,she would likely lay the rest.

You wouldn't want her to lay the eggs where you won't be able to have access to.

5) Supplement their feed with commercial feed, it'll make them come out better.

6)Be patient with your Noiler when she begins to lay, i thought once she begins to lay,she starts incubation. I was wrong , a chicken only starts incubation when she lays the last egg - thanks to my Dad for explaining stuff to me .
Even layers have a break.

7)You may also decide to feed your Noiler with layer feed to supplement calcium in her body for eggs with well formed shells.

I think there's a misunderstanding here, the guest toilet is isolated and for quick runs but if a guest is sleeping over, there should always be a toilet inside the visitors room.

Actually, when the right thing is done . You won't have any issue.
In that visitor's toilet, in order to evacuate the foul smell quickly from leaking into the sitting room, You must have a properly designed Extractor fan.
Another mechanism put in place even if there's power outage is the vent cowl of the 100mm Soil waste pipe.
What it does is to also ventilate the toilet as fast as possible.
With these two solutions, you wont have any issues with your visitor's toilet.

Chief, all those things na theory. We are talking about practical. Toilet is toilet no matter what. I have seen people pee on top of the toilet seat and even on the floor. Some don't even know how to flush

This visitor’s toilet issue is easy to redeem in most cases. It just depends on where you want the door. If a door opening to the living area or ante room is not convenient, a different door could be made at another position. While the first is sealed.

Our problem in the building industry is "this is how it is done" syndrome. Good question. In planning a house, how the owner intends to use the house should be Paramount in zoning the features of the house. So because Me. A has his V.T in the living room must not mean every other house will be like that. Mr. B reserves the right not to have any V.T in his own house at all, while Mr. C can choose to locate his at any other place other than the ante room or the living room provided he is ok with it.
The bottom line should be for the owner to know how he wants to use his house. Then as for me, I will personally site my V.T behind the house where it will be accessed from the compound because some visitors will end up in the compound without entering the house and also in the case of having an outdoor event, accessing the toilet by many persons wouldn't be a problem.

My brother, those visitors toilets sef. They will look nice in the drawing but by the time you start using them, you understand the real thing. Not every visitor knows how to use it and by the time they mess up your house two times, you will be forced to lock it up.

The entrance lobby should be demarcated from the living room. An entrance door after the entrance lobby. The outer door if designed well may not be necessary.

The dining in a lobby with no natural lighting and ventilation is not good at all.

Your stair is better if accessed from the wide lobby where you placed your dining seats.

The visitors room if designed properly could be cross ventilated.

2. The dining, is it a passage or what? The distance between the lounge and the dining is something else.

3. That long passage has no window
4. The visitors' toilet; I personally don't understand why a toilet should open to a public area. Mind you, not everybody knows how to use the toilet. I would personally conceal it from public view.

5. Another issue of concern to me is the accessibility of the staircase. Do you really have to enter the bedroom before climbing the stairs and while coming down, you enter the room first

Note: Am not an architect and would like our architects to put me right.

I would remove the wall between the living room and the dining room. Totally unnecessary. Opening up the space will greatly improve the flow, natural light and air circulation.

Opening up the space will give you the opportunity to make the staircase a feature of the living room. Settle for a well designed wrought iron staircase which will give the ground floor a really really great feel.
