What ever happened to the law enforcement agents? Why is the criminal investigation department not taking this on? Where are the media houses?

There are load of female journalists, high profile executives, paliarmentarians, civil society activists. What role are they playing?

PLEASE SHOUT THIS PAEDOPHILE DOWN AND GET HIM OUT OF THE SUPPOSED 'HALLOWED CHAMBER' IF EVER ONE EXISTS.
PoliticsRe: Bbc2 Welcome To Lagos! by Hatitude: 8:11am On Apr 16, 2010
I have some reservations when others who are not in my situation try to proffer solutions for my problem. Everyone complaining about the BBC going down to the organised Scavengers worksite to film should first ask them - The Scavengers what their thoughts and views are.

Some of the comments I've read reminds me of when the west constantly protest about cheap labour, exploitation etc because labour is being sourced from other "less privileged" countries. Ask the people of these "less privileged" countries and they are grateful that they have jobs and not only that are actually earning a living, supporting themselving whilst at the same time acquiring skill. They became the Chinas of this world given some years down the line.

I was certain from watching yesterday's program that if Slender hadn't yet gotten a break before then, the possibility was that things will start to move positively for him. People say that a good advert is one you can remember both the brand and product. I believe all these were achieved for Slender. This is for me is a success story.

I have since gone to the link on his MySpace page and the numbers are growing.

Joseph on the other hand has upheld the popular belief that the Igbos amongst us are still the most resourceful people in Nigeria. I respectfully duff my hat to you.

Well done Slender!!! Well done Joe!!!

My structural drawings show the following labels on the steel reinforcement and beams. They are 23-R1001-200c/c 79-R1002-200c/c, 2Y1203, 3Y1603 amongst others. Can you please shed some light on what they mean so I can determine or read the drawings appropriately.
PoliticsRe: Ministers Can't See Yaradua …would Need Clearance From Saudi King Abdullah by Hatitude: 7:08pm On Feb 21, 2010
If the presidential jet is still in Saudi, that implies the country has been paying parking fees apart from the hospital bill. Isn't it possible that the jet be returned to the country and when Turai is ready to bury bring her husband home, the acting president can let them have it on passionate basis?

Abeg people dey suffer, make dem try save some coins jare.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Is Now President by Hatitude: 11:32pm On Feb 09, 2010
By preparing to swear Jonathan as an acting President instead of an Executive President,  might be a sort of check by the Senate on Jonathan Goodluck, the word acting simply means the status quo should remain the same, hiring and firing would be done with some consultation with the Senate. Goodluck would be a checked and a lame duck president,  just their to steady the ship for the next 18 months.

My strong feelings are the Senates knows the true state of Yaradua's health, but I doubt if the VP knows. The VP would always look behind his back b4 making any decision with regards to Hiring and Firing. The Senate would remind Goodluck that if he fires anybody without thinking it through, that decsion might be rescinded if the President resumes his post.
If this is actually the plan of the Senate, then Goodluck Jonathan can foil their plans by constituting the FEC that would pass a resolution that declares the President incapacitated based on advise from medical professionals. The AGF - I'madrunkard already confirmed himself that the court has ruled that he - Jonathan has executive powers and may choose to fire him. HE SHOULD THEREFORE FIRE THE AGF.

PoliticsRe: Unbelievable: Ex Nigerian Presidents Gets Pay Raise From N250m To N2bn Annually by Hatitude: 3:51pm On Jan 06, 2010
hahaha, :
Let me tell u guys something, these politicains were not sent from the darkest pits of hell to deal out untold horrors on the citizens of Nigeria, they are men and women like us, and they have blood flowing through their viens.

However the gift of wisdom is not eqaully amongst all human beings, so this proposal was developed in all of Mr Adeosun wisdom, and i think its a good idea to reward former leaders of the counrty.

Where i disagree with Mr Adeosun proposal is the %increase in the salaries from 250million to 2billion, which represents a 700% increase that in my opinion is just too much, a 50-100% increase will be more in line with the current harsh economic climate in the country and the world as a whole.

Secondly only deserving leaders should be paid these benefits, not every tom and harry that ruled Nigeria. "Deserving leaders" can be ascertained by an independent panel, this in turn will reward good governance.

Please lets learn to give construtive criticism, am sure Nigeria is not the only counrty to pays past leaders some form of emolument.
Please stop insulting our intelligence. The original intention was to give these non deserving leaders a salary increase of btw 50-100% but you feed us with this crazy and unrealistic increase that makes everyone scream and then you reduce it to a level that the people then class as acceptable.

Well, I'd like to say to you that not a single one of them is deserved of any remuneration. There is a thing called performance related pay (PRP) which means we should be able to see some form of an improvement in the life of the common man. This is not the case and so the whole pay should be scrapped.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Cleric Lambasts Political Elite At Ooni's 80th Birthday by Hatitude(op): 8:38am On Jan 04, 2010
Most Rev Jasper Okunola is his name but don't know his church as I would also like to personally see him and duff my hat to him. He stood to be counted, what rare display of courage that I'm sure can only be from God!
Nairaland GeneralCleric Lambasts Political Elite At Ooni's 80th Birthday by Hatitude(op): 12:11am On Jan 04, 2010
The officiating minister at the ceremony, Most Rev Jasper Okunola of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, who was visibly angry because many of the political officer holders that were invited to the birthday had arrived almost three hours behind schedule, said it is very painful that Nigerian politicians cherish indiscipline as a way of life.

He said: "Why do you all, Nigerian leaders, relish arriving late to events and slowing things down." "This event was billed to start for 10.00am, and hundreds of people, including the Ooni of Ife himself, had been long prepared and waiting. But most of you are just strolling in around 1.00pm and you even show no sign of remorse; rather, you came in with all the political glamour.

"But no," he hollered as he banged the stand, "Nigeria can’t remain this way. Things must change. You all have drawn this country back for too long, and things must not truly continue this way. And if anyone is deceiving you that you have done or you did well, you check and tell yourself the truth is you have done well or not," he counseled.

As he spoke, many of the politicians which included serving and past governors, government functionaries, local and foreign Ambassadors, businessmen and many kings and chiefs from various countries and sectors, looked dazed. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade too, sat solemnly as he watched the man exhort the gathering.

"You all stand here praising God and shouting halleluiah; but praising God is beyond merely shouting halleluiah. It has to do with the wholeness of your being. God requires your sincerity. If politicians are honest about anything, why are they arriving here three hours behind time? Why do they delay things? Attitudes like this do not help things to move forward," the cleric stressed.

"Anyone that goes about his sins cannot just raise hands to praise God because God does not condone sins. I therefore urge you all to repent and be truthful with your service to Nigeria. I call on all great and small Nigerians to repent of your sins against Nigeria and humanity.

"All the money that Nigeria needs to fund her many projects to move the country forward have been provided by God; but all the sectors of the Nigerian state remained backward and nothing is moving. You have all subjected Nigerians to buying ‘Tokunbo’ clothes, cars and other stuffs whereas you politicians loot the treasury and share the wealth of the nation without remorse, without conscience and eventually; if you don’t repent, you will die shamelessly. You are the architects of your future and that of your children and the unfortunate thing is that, many Nigerians are suffering along.

He added: "As I conclude, let me tell each of you what you need to do; start from now to ask yourselves, ‘What next?’ The question to ask is what next because it is with that consciousness that you can now begin to think towards lifting this country out of the valley that you have thrown Nigeria into.

"And to the celebrant, the Ooni of Ife, you also should focus on asking what next because God had really blessed you so well and you lack nothing. So, for you Kabiyesi, your what next should be to move closer to your God."
