I did not pay any initial deposit.

dserious: @hawtmum, you are so lucky to get that bill from PG, I called and was told 10-12k for CS delivery, and dat excludes doc's fees n anestheologist. I dont want to risk hoping for discount and get stuck with huge bills if im not lucky.

Infact i also checked with Holy cross hospital and d cost was about d same. Maryland is so expensive, wish i can get something cheaper there, else i ll kuku stick with dear cheap MIHS.
I was gonna leave Maryland for Arizona too. But i decided to take d risk, n stayed back. D trick is, make sure u don't spend more than one night n continue to emphasise that u're self pay, there's nothing to be shy about. In fact a lot of d nurses that were present @ my delivery are nigerians. So i kept telling them u know as e dey go, I'm self pay. So any service that is not so necessary i can avoid. And again if u have an uneventful delivery, ur bill is gonna be low. NICU is another thing that can raise one's bill. As long as baby is fine n i mean fine (doesn't need any treatment or extra service whatsoever) n ure fine, ur bill is gonna be low. My cousin had her baby in July n her bill was within d same range as mine.

@cuteade congrats on ur POE, nothing beats honesty
Yes it keeps going to voicemail. I'll see if i can get the number that eventually went through. When i got through they gave me an estimate of $8,000 for vaginal. But i did not ask about CS. I was surprised to get a lower bill.

@web005: i flew United @ 34 weeks. They just asked for my fit to fly. But that was in May tho. I don't think anything has changed recently. This is what i found on their website.

Traveling while pregnant

Any woman in the first eight months of pregnancy will be allowed to travel on a United flight without medical documentation.

A woman traveling during her ninth month of pregnancy must have the original and two copies of an obstetrician’s certificate, which must be dated within three days (72 hours) prior to her flight departure. To best assure the pregnant traveler’s safety, it is preferable to have a certificate dated within one day of flight departure.

The certificate must state that the obstetrician has examined the customer and found her to be physically fit for air travel between the specified dates. The estimated birth date of the baby must be after the date of the last flight on the itinerary.

The customer should provide the original certificate to a United Representative at check-in. The remaining copies are for reference during air travel.

Hello abujaniv. If one is placed on administrative processing and checks the visa application status online, and it says "issued". How long does one have to wait to be contacted by the embassy. NB: It's 15 business days now since the status was updated.
