Where do I even start from?

DAY 1

Mumsy suddenly called me, saying she was already waiting for me at the park. I was like "mogbe! this woman is definitely gonna fall my hand today!" I carried just two bags - a laptop bag and a backpack (well, not forgetting to take along my cooler and cup). On sighting her, the first statement she made was that I wasn't prepared at all. She had to force me to buy buckets, rubber sandals and others at the park, while other "Prospective otondos" were watching. Just had to play by her "motherly wahala", until she brought out a Ghana must go bag out of the blues so I can load all the luggage inside. i seriously felt like I was packing over to my newly married bride's house.

Iseyin camp, Oyo state... here I come!

Fast forward, we got on camp. It was the serving NYSC marshals that checked if we had out callup letters with us. After the check, the lady asked us to place out luggage on our heads then start jugging to the main gate. I was like "another mogbe!" The distance was quite fa, yet we had to jug through. At that moment, I blessed my mum for forcing me to have all my luggage in one Ghana must go bag.

We successfully got through the unexpected race, and next was a security check. They only asked if I was on drugs, if I drink and other related questions. No one even bothered to check my luggage. At that point, I started regretting not carrying my dearest laptop along.

Next, we were to be give a preorientation. But instead, the soldiers had us sit in the sun while an earlier batch of PCMs were being given given another preorientation. Then I knew I was in for THIS.

We got out of that sunny massage then had our preorientation, proceeded to the "exotic" accommodation prepared for us. All was set then I proceeded for official camp registration. That was swift. No issues.

Glanders brodas and sistas read ur messages buh i gah summerize d questions..first thanks to yall for commending ma effort.. cant quote all of .. first to d lady who asked were am serving.. its cross river d camp is in obubra(6hrs from calaber and 1:30hrs to cameroon) and to mr haychay on woman matter, mehn them done ban strafin for here o. they caught 3peepz yesternite after mami palmwine flexing, strafing their babes on parade ground.. mehn d soldiers pursued everyone in d market to our hostels and was telling us to f*ck in our dream can u imagine? then d guy who asked about d Ukrainian bae unfortunatly she's in anoda platoon and she is in vollyball team... there z no time for hang outs, tho she came yesternite during our mami flexing as i called her to come. buh she dint stay upto an hour and she doesnt drink palm wine.. na double mind i dey so. just wanna give it time tho ma platoon gals dey give me joy.. and we still joke about everytin sha buh really its so busy, day in day out.

We have to wake as early as 4am for parade, return around 9:am nd all to hear the trumpet few hours later... The stress is much TBH

Anyways the ceremony today was cool so to speak. Governor kept us waiting till 12noon as expected (African tine)

Our RSM just dey drill us anyhow for here in Rivers
He said our parade ground na cementry that we must always be quiet at all times. Whenever he hears any sound, na to go on ur kneels be the next thing.
When he was reading the rules nd regulations today, we had to kneel and hold our ears

At a time he told us he'll gas us out

So after the swearing in ceremony today,we were paid transport allowance of #1500.

I have bin trying to upload a sample of d day to day camp activities (timetable)..but all to no avail......a typical day starts wt the blowing of d biggle by 4:30am for all Corpers to proceed to d parade ground,we take national anthem nd nysc anthem then we take the meditation by the Platoon on duty, Muslim students go for their prayers, Christians hv praise nd worship nd prayer, the camp director gives her talk, then we have fitness exercise (ere in lagos, djs dey, so we have our fitness exercise wt hiphop songs, too much ginger), in between by 6, we stand attention for the flag to be taken up, same is down by 6 in d evenin ,to bring it down...we continue wt drills by d platoon instructor, after which we leave to freshen up nd take breakfast, then assemble bck at d sound of d biggle arnd 9 for lectures, talks or wat hv u till 2pm, then we go for lunch till 4, and then come bck for drills,rehearsals nd co till 5:30, then sports, dinner nd lights out by 10:30pm......

mehn them swear for us 2day o... so @ arund 10am twas time for d swearing in ceremony.. omehn then i remembered ma trousers was agbada twas already late to change ma mind on amending d trousers, well thank God(1500) so ma head full.. i saw diff people on their fitted khaki, mehn ma hostel niggas were looking Behind buh base on say i b creativity i wore the trousers like that o buh i stuffed d end of d trousers into ma socks and used ma chalks lace to tie d ankle of d trousers mehn after i did that i was looking like all this amy guys involved in boko haram fight, buh i was cul.. so i ran down to parade ground i queued up with ma platoon mates, only for d commander incharge of ma platoon to commend me for ma creativity he was like "i like wat u did to ur trousers" and i was like "Thank u sir" mehn it now looked like swag, all d niggas arund @ dah time started feeling the swag.. so minute later i was sent to d front of d queue for laughing as i just walked pass d centre of d line mehn some group of bannies couldnt hold buh talk and laugh out loud @ma settings tho some of them were of opinion dat apart from being funny buh dah twas also cul so i turned and jokingly said una dey laugh ma swag, mehn some of them fell on d floor and laughed so loud that everyone turned including d soldiers and was like wah iz happening here, so i turned mr popular today in ma platoon.. that being said today was vewi hectic o. ceremony started @10am and ended 2:30pm which means we stood for more than 4hrs and cross river sun no b here o. i felt like i was going to die, some people were even forming faint.. we endured sha and that one passed, so we went back to our hostels. immediately i got to d hostel ah just lie down and i was off. slept till 4pm and ah dint know diz soldiers are heartless that dey couldnt give us a break.. i was asleep ah dint hear d trumpet so they came into d hostels to fish me out o.. omehn u wan try d frog jump to parade ground.. mehn like diz i neva recover just laying on ma bed and waiting for time to enta mami market to flex with ma new frnds. that been said sha to add salt to injury our hostel has been disconnected and ma charger seized by an unknown military man cus hostel nearly got burnt today by electric spark which wasnt caused by my socket o.. mehn 2day was hell of a day.
