Religion / Micheal Pacher Painting; Saint Wolfgang And The Devil- See What It Depicted by Haynnie: 2:23pm On Apr 30
Saint Wolfgang and the Devil: St. Wolfgang was born circa 934 in Swabia, Germany. St. Wolfgang and the Devil is a Northern Renaissance painting by artist Michael Pacher, painted from 1471 to 1475. It portrays St. Wolfgang standing with the Devil, who is showing him the agreement to help him build his church under the one condition to take the soul of the first person who steps inside it. Very realistically depicted, this scene shows the cruel temptations under which human beings are tested and the Devil’s ability to bargain.
The legend goes that St. Wolfgang wanted to build a Church. However, no one wanted to help him until one day, Urian, or The Evil One (The Devil) passed by. St. Wolfgang asked Urian if he would like to help him build his church, but Urian was confused, not able to understand why anyone would want the Devil to help in building a holy place. St. Wolfgang insisted, and , finally, Urian agreed under one condition. St. Wolfgang was obliged to let Urian take the soul of the person who is to step inside the house of God. St, Wolfgang agrees, and the Devil enthusiastically helps him. In the end, St. Wolfgang is obliged to give him the soul of the first visitor, believing that good will triumph over evil in the end.
Through this slightly ironic scene, we can see the natures of human behavior and how people sometimes need to sacrifice some things for their own good. St. Wolfgang believes in good, however he is tempted by the Devil, who can also be seen as an evil reflection of man, and finally gives over, allowing sacrifice in order to achieve his goals. The idea of this painting is to warn people of the potential dangers in their life, depicting these views through a humanistic nature, showing the evil in every person.

Business / Re: Fuel Attendants Insist Customers Buy Meatpie First Before They Sell Fuel (vid) by Haynnie: 4:42am On Apr 29
Reminderz:

this has also been evident in their attitudes displayed with market prices... "Dollar oo dollar ooo", dollar rise, product prices became expensive, dollar fall, still the same.. at the time of no cash, pos people used the opportunity to contribute to the hardship already faced... same with fuel attendants now, I ask, is the government truly the problem or we are our own problem...? are the leaders truly corrupt or the corruption is an innate ability? as we are, so will our leaders be... most of the people complaining about bad governance or corruption will do much worse when in that position...

we are our own problem... until we change ourselves, this country will never do good... when we go other country, we go dey treat theirs with respect, afraid to go against the rules, but for here, we dey do anyhow, like animals in the wild... smh

It's quite disturbing to see how people in Nigeria tolerate bad behavior from others, even when it's unethical. Imagine, a petrol station attendant recently told customers that they must buy meat pies if they want to get fuel. Despite this being a clear example of exploitation, the customers still bought the pies and the fuel.

Sadly, this is a common thing in Nigeria. People complain about bad behavior, but they still support it by continuing to patronize the business. They do this because it's easier to stay with what they know, rather than take the time and effort to find another petrol station that might offer better prices.

But why don't people come together to protest against such practices? It's possible that they've become so accustomed to suffering that they don't know how to demand better treatment. This is a worrying trend that needs to change.

For the past couple of months, whenever I try to post anything of substance my post gets deleted and I get banned for a day. People can go on tribalistic tirades on the front page but I can't post a simple manga review for some reason.

That's crazy!
I don't get the point for doing that. Isn't it same thing? Giving of reviews and speculations based on manga isn't a write off na.

Waiting for every anime episode to give a review is different so as to manga. Please we really do need manga review here

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Coventry City Vs Manchester United: FA Cup (2-4) On Penalties On 21st April 2024 by Haynnie: 12:51am On Apr 22
Man U is a useless football team.
How can they be leading 3-0 and Coventry stil car ack to clap back a draw? Doesn’t it tell how bad of. Team Man U is?

Their starting players all bagging injuries. Even their style of play shows how struggling they are with the game, their lineups are just frauds. Once I enter betting sites and see the odds Man U always get before the game, I’m hundred percent certain it won’t be an easy one for Man U.

They are certainly going through luck and is not consistent.

Is a dangerous idea to support a team that doesn’t give a run for peoples money cus they will play to disappoint even on a good day.

Ten hag should log out abeg.

I've seen a lot of folks go down this way. Marriage is shaky or destroyed now.

My lil sis and i were having a convo with my old man and she told us blankly she can't marry a broke man. I'm in support of that.
Sounds funny buh when you look at it, Finance is everything. It's better to be practical and realistic about things like this.

Here’s the talk bout this, if your sis reject a broke man when she hasn’t been doing well off herself, it would make her a hypocrite. Who’s willing to work when the opportunity arise would not hesitate but would make plans out of what they get for now. I would not agree to get married if I’m still broke for I need to have a means of income enough for sustainability for two talk less of having a baby. So for a man to be earning 50k and has the need to get married means two things which is, the salary isn’t is only source he realize his income and the other is having enough to sustain his new family after the marriage. If we are real with ourselves, we should ask bout people who live in the village or those who do menial jobs earning less than 50, 10-5k still do get married and still find means to sustain their selves in their marriages.

You have a point sha. Wait until like 2 kids drop and he's still earning 50k. I no wan know the love, it'll deteriorate.
Ehnn by he must have skyrocketed from the actual 50k he earns to much more than his former cost of living.

Logically, birthing his first kid is enough for his income not to remain the same not to talk of 2 kids.

For your good. Please don't. Except you're earning higher.
You must have heard this word, “if u dey earn 10k na 10k problem you go solve, if you dey earn 1mil na 1mil problem you go dey solve.”

Even if you earn higher what guarantee does it give your own personal needs won't double before you marry?

Demigod22:
50k and marriage shouldn't be in the same sentence.

Seriously, even when the individual have future plans, I will advise the person achieve certain level of the plans to raise him from the 50k level first before marriage. If it's a secure job that guarantee promotion and salary increment, that's relatable. The man must diversify and sort out multiple sources of income.

Most Nigerians don't even plan for children, they believe God give children and God will raise them.

I don't want to marry and start giving my children excuses about Nigeria factor.

50k in City, transportation, feeding, housing, sickness sometimes, other relatives that call for help once in awhile, miscellaneous, haba!

For how long would you hustle for you to realize is enough to take care of your future family before getting married?

These kinds of questions can also be asked in reverse. So should a woman divorce her husband because his business failed and he now earns 50k monthly?

Questions like these excludes the fact that humans are built to withstand and triumph over difficulties. Life is not fairy tale, and suffering either temporary or permanently is life.

Anyways, it all depends on the wife. If she is also working and genuinely wants him, then they can manage. Also, 50k salary today doesn't mean it won't increase over time.

Questions like this is why polygamy existed and thrive, since many women will rather share a very wealthy man than have the undivided attention and love of a man that is earning average.
