Romance › Re: Is It Right To Punish Your Partner By Denying Him/her intimacy? by hbabe(f): 4:48pm On Feb 28, 2010
It's not right to deny your partner in a committed relationship/marriage, if he is suspected to have STD then he should be made to use condoms until tests are carried out. That should be enough punishment for him!
Romance › Re: Its Funny How Nigerians Use The Word Love by hbabe(f): 4:29pm On Feb 28, 2010
Hahaha! Next time do what I do! I just tell him 'I love you too, but I do not want to get down with you and I am not playing hard to get'! I don't know if some sisters really buy those silly lines. It is really pathetic and I grew up with so much belief in love but Naija guys cured or robbed me of my belief.
Try this, a guy is caught cheating (double dating actually) and his defence is 'I don't love her the way I love you'!!!! And what he really means is that sex with her is different!
I still love Naija guys sha! Unfortunately!!!

@Ebonyeyes
That's the average Naija guy for you! They believe every girl will get down at the mention of the word 'love' and also in their minds love = sex!
You speak of one day, a Naija guy can declare undying love within 2 seconds of meeting a girl!
Romance › Re: What Does Marriage Means To You? by hbabe(f): 3:23am On Feb 28, 2010
Marriage to me means joining hands with another to build a future and having a constant/dedicated partner in all my dealings.

Men push their achievements (no matter how meagre) down our throats all the time and we pamper, encourage and rejoice with them; so if career ladies throw theirs at their faces they should learn how to deal with it! It's all about guys feeling insecure around successful ladies, they want ego boosters around them all the time and do not care to boost a lady's ego once in a while. Achievements take a lot of hardwork and should not be swept under the carpet to make a guy comfortable!
I always encourage sisters to reach for great heights and at same time hold on to that good man who is confident enough to encourage her, wise enough to know that her talk about her career is not being boastful and smart enough to know how to handle her achievements. Unfortunately such guys are rare in Nigeria and I am sure this is what keeps career minded ladies unattached in Naija but believe me career ladies often end up with the pick of the pack! In school brilliant girls are dreaded/avoided by guys, at work career women need to work hard to be recognized as serious and called names when they do well and in relationships the guys get intimidated by them. It's all part of the plan to get the ladies back to the kitchen but it's too late we have been enlightened and empowered by education! Let the guys live with it!
I am not a feminist, I just believe in people doing the right thing and helping one another, our Naija brothers need help!

It is weird that our President is still in the ambulance! Why was he flown back from Saudi if he isn't well enough to come down from an ambulance? This is totally embarrassing to the whole nation. I wonder what is really going on!

Love all the way the Naija style, its the only way to go! Let me state an example, I get to a party looking real good and a Naija guy walks up to me and says 'you look great, girl. I love you!'. A non Nigerian wwould have been confused but as a Naija girl I knew my Naija brother was telling me he admired me in the outfit.

Hmmmhuh
That was light years ago! I discovered Accopen and we have been together ever since! And of course I love him! Hehehehe

@Otawa
Yes o! Easier to keep it simple than to waste time trying to separate the feelings into where they actually fit.
BTW I love you!

To cope with heart break, accept that it's over and move on with life. Enjoy other aspects of life that are sailing smoothly and watch out for someone new.

@Lovemoi2
Yes! Even when you are just admiring his shoes or shirt!
'I love you die' sounds better than 'Nice shoes you have!'

@Baybbootz
lol
Heaven says the Naija guys are 'untouchable' and beyond redemption as far as being romantic is concerned so they have been left unromantic as examples of what being romantic should not be.
Just as well coz the few romantic Naija guys are just making up for their other deficiences!
