Health / The Real Cause Of Asthma And How To Cure It by healthenquire: 10:58am On Jan 10, 2014
Background

The disease of asthma is caused by an infestation of the lungs by the larval stage of a common parasite. The name of the parasite is Ascaris. It is classified as a roundworm and it is very common in dogs and cats. It is also found in other types of animals, including the domestic animals from which we get our meat and dairy products. Because Ascaris parasites are so prevalent, they are also commonly found in human beings as well.

Human beings can become infested by at least two (2) different varieties of Ascaris worms-Ascaris lumbricoides and Ascaris megalocephala. I do not yet know which variety is responsible for causing asthma in humans. It may be both of them. It does not matter. They both can be eliminated very quickly and easily and your asthma can be cured.

The following is an explanation of how Ascaris worms are able to invade the human body and how this invasion leads to asthma. Microscopic Ascaris eggs are virtually everywhere in our environment. This is because adult Ascaris live in the small intestines of many animals, most commonly dogs and cats. These adults produce many eggs which exit these animals in their excrement. When the animal excrement dries, the Ascaris eggs get mixed in with the soil. From the soil, the eggs can get disbursed anywhere.

If we get dirt on our hands and then inadvertently touch our mouths, the eggs may get into our bodies. There Ascaris can go through their development stages. Ascaris eggs can also get onto our pets’ fur. If we pet our dogs and cats and then touch our mouths, Ascaris eggs can get into us. Ascaris eggs are also in fertilizer. From the fertilizer, the eggs can get onto our vegetables and other produce. There are also Ascaris eggs in our domestic animals, such as meat and dairy cattle. From there they can get into our meat and dairy products. Humans ingest Ascaris eggs quite often, especially if they have pets and virtually whenever they eat produce, meat, or dairy products.

After we swallow the Ascaris eggs, they hatch in our digestive systems, releasing their larval stage. The microscopic larvae then travel through our bloodstreams to our lungs. Here they molt (shed their skins) a few times as they grow. In our lungs, they produce chemicals which have the ability to neutralize other chemicals produced by our immune systems which would ordinarily exterminate them. Thus, they are able to flourish.

From the lungs, the larvae travel up or get coughed up the trachea or windpipe. From there, some of them enter the esophagus and get back into our digestive systems. (Because phlegm from our lungs often contains Ascaris larvae, it should never be swallowed. It should be spit into a tissue and properly disposed of or spit into the toilet.) The larvae then travel to either the stomach or the small intestine where they stay and become adults. The adults shed eggs into our digestive tracts, which are then eliminated from our bodies in our feces.

All Ascaris worms go through a lung stage as part of their development, whether it is in humans, in our pets, or in other animals. It is this larval stage in the lungs which causes asthma. Not everyone who has Ascaris larvae in their lungs develops asthma. However, Ascaris worms always go through a lung stage as part of their development.

Eliminating Ascaris by Starving Them

One of the ways that we can easily eliminate approximately half of the Ascaris worms and their larvae residing in our bodies is to deprive them of the substances they require in order to survive. We can accomplish this by avoiding certain foods ourselves.

Ascaris lumbricoides requires a substance called quercitin. Quercitin is found in undercooked pumpkin and squash, oats (raw or cooked), melons, cantaloupe, kiwi fruit, cottage cheese, cucumbers, maple syrup, ripe papaya, pomegranate, sweet potatoes, yams, and wormwood.

Ascaris megalocephala requires a substance called d-carnitine in order to survive. D-carnitine is found in chicken and turkey, however it is not found in the free-range, organic varieties of chicken and turkey.

By not eating any of these foods, you can eliminate approximately half of the Ascaris parasites and their stages residing in your body. Once their essential foods are gone, many of the Ascaris parasites simply leave. However, it will take a few days for their essential nutrients to be depleted from your body once you stop eating them. The reason that they all do not disappear is because you will probably be ingesting small amounts of quercitin or d-carnitine which are hidden in other foods. These small amounts of quercitin or d-carnitine are enough to allow some of the Ascaris to survive.

Eliminating Ascaris by Exterminating Them

Fortunately, there is another, more effective method for eliminating the Ascaris larvae residing in your lungs and causing your asthma. It is by exterminating them. This method will also allow your lungs to begin producing their parasite-exterminating chemicals again. For maximum effectiveness, you should combine this new method with the starvation method just described.

Our immune systems produce a number of very powerful parasite-killing chemicals. Ordinarily, these chemicals would be able to exterminate any invaders before they would be able to gain a foothold in our bodies. However, the Ascaris larvae produce some strong chemicals of their own which are able to neutralize our defensive chemicals. So the Ascaris larvae are able to invade our lungs and begin growing there.

One of the body’s parasite-killing chemicals is called benzoquinone, or BQ, for short. BQ can usually exterminate the lumbricoides variety of Ascaris and all of its stages. Another one of our defensive chemicals is called rhodizonic acid, or RZ, for short. RZ can usually exterminate the megalocephala variety of Ascaris and all of its stages. Unfortunately, the overwhelming number of Ascaris that have invaded our lungs and the chemicals that they make have rendered both the BQ and the RZ made in our lungs by our immune systems ineffective.

However, there is a method for reintroducing both BQ and RZ back into our lungs. The method consists of ingesting facsimiles of both BQ and RZ. By taking these facsimiles a few drops at a time, a number of times a day, in a short amount of time all of the Ascaris larvae residing in your lungs will be exterminated. Your lungs’ immune system will also begin producing its own BQ and RZ again and begin warding off any future Ascaris larvae invasions. (You would never want to ingest the actual chemicals BQ and RZ themselves because our bodies only make very minute quantities of them and you would surely ingest too much. However, the equivalent amount of the chemicals in the facsimiles is very small and taking them is perfectly safe. It is similar to taking homeopathic remedies in which minute amounts of substances are ingested.)

Sports / Energy Drink Side Effects by healthenquire: 8:53am On Jan 08, 2014
There is an ongoing debate filling the various media about the potential harmfulness of energy drinks. The story so far is a point and counter-point contest between the medical establishments and the makers and sellers of these energy products.

The good news is that consumption of energy drinks in moderation is safe and harmless for the vast, vast, majority of people. In addition there are no immediate short-term risks associated with energy drinks consumption. The bad news is that the long-term effects have not been studied enough to present a comprehensive conclusion one way or the other.

Other potential risk factors besides caffeine

All of the drinks on the market are required to print a list of ingredients on the label including the amount of caffeine. The first thing a user should do before consumption is read the label to become aware of any ingredients that would be harmful to any pre-existing conditions. These include; irregular heartbeat, allergies, stomach problems, and asthma or breathing difficulties. Normally, people with these conditions steer clear of caffeine or other stimulants, However, this may not be evident in a younger person or child that has not been diagnosed and parental care should be taken.

Caffeine Overdose Symptoms

Caffeine is the major leading cause of most energy drink side effects which appear in the average, healthy, person when more than 250-300 mg is ingested. It should be noted that these symptoms will appear. Here are the most common symptoms of caffeine overdose:

• jitters, nervousness, and a faster heartbeat

• high blood pressure, dizziness, difficulty breathing

• upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea

• headache and trouble sleeping
• breast shrinkage in women

• allergic reaction like rash, hives, or itching

• withdrawal symptoms upon cessation

• cardiac arrest

Other energy drink side effects

Because there are a number of ingredients in energy drinks, caffeine is not the only possibly harmful substance. Below is a table with a list of the most common ingredients and possible side effects.

Ingredients – Possible Side Effects

B-Vitamins – Too much B3 or B6 can cause a burning sensation or flushing of the skin.
Ginseng – Insomnia, tachycardia, headache.
Taurine – No side effect evidence to date.
Inositol – Diarrhea if too much is consumed.
L-Theanine - Green tea extract may cause light-headedness with high doses.
L-Carnitine – Vomiting, headache, trouble breathing, insomnia.
Ginkgo Biloba – Dizziness, palpitations, possible interaction with blood thinners and other medications.
Sugar – Tooth decay, obesity, diabetes.
Artificial Sweeteners – No evidence of side effects to date.
Glucuronolactone – No side effects reported.

In conclusion, it’s obvious that there is very little danger associated with the consumption of energy drinks, especially if they are consumed in moderation by healthy individuals.

Business / Day Gtbank, uyo Locked Out Customers And Made Them Beg by healthenquire: 1:19pm On Jan 07, 2014
Yesterday was an unusual seen in Uyo when customer service relations was at its lowest ebb at the only branch of GTbank PLC in uyo. Even though GTBank has established its self as a major bank in the country, they do not appear to have their customers in Akwa Ibom as worthy for proper treatment if the event of yesterday January 2, 2013 was anything to go by.

Before i proceed, i want to state here that i am well aware that a bank can choose to close it banking hall for business at 12 noon if it so desire as that is probably within its right purview. And bank policies are basically the prerogative of the said bank. However, i also believe whatever policy a bank implements should be at the best interest of the customers.

This is a point that should not be over emphasized.

GTBank PLC, Uyo suddenly decided to close its banking hall to business by 3.30pm without any prior notification of the general public or its customers. Many of the customers I spoke with were angry at the banks attitude for not considering that fact that a working individual will usually try to catch up with banking services just before 4pm.

Another was mostly annoyed at not being informed prior to now especially as he had to come from Ikot Ekpene only to meet a notice on the ATM door which another customer claimed was not there in the morning when he first came to the bank.

Many customers refused to leave hoping that if they persisted, the doors will eventually be opened for them to enter. Well it never happened.

My question is, if Akwa Ibom is so insignificant to the bank, so much that, apart from having just one branch in the entire state, it has now reduced banking hours by 30 minutes to the dismay of customers, wouldn’t it be better they make a complete exit?

Health / Penis Skin Allergies – Causes And Solutions by healthenquire: 3:55pm On Dec 31, 2013
Reddened, swollen and itchy penis skin is no joke, and it can be an alarming experience. Many men have been sent into a panic over the appearance of dry and irritated skin of the penis, jumping to the conclusion that they have contracted a socially transmitted disease. In fact, in many cases, red and swollen skin is simply the result of penis skin allergies. Adverse reactions to environmental irritants are common, but with appropriate penis skin care, these should be short-lived and should not cause any lasting damage.

Symptoms of a penis skin allergy

Skin reactions to irritants are commonly referred to as dermatitis, an inflammatory condition that results in redness, swelling and intense itching. After exposure to an allergen, the skin may develop a spreading rash and/or a dry, scaly appearance. Men with darker skin tones may find that the skin in the affected area appears lighter than the surrounding tissue.

Adverse reactions may occur almost immediately or within a few hours after exposure. Scratching the affected area is unlikely to make the itching better and may damage the surface of the skin, causing bleeding, scabbing and further irritation that contributes to ongoing discomfort. If the urethra, or penile opening, is affected, painful urination may also occur.

Health / Diabetic Diet: How Lemon And Lemon Water Can Help Cure Diabetes by healthenquire: 5:48am On Dec 29, 2013
I started buying fresh lemons by the bag after I found out how they can help cure diabetes. They are quite literally a miracle from Mother Nature! I have always loved fresh lemon but now I make an extra effort to eat lots of them. In fact, I believe lemons should be an important staple in every diabetic diet.

Lemon Lowers the Glycemic Index of Other Foods

Research has shown that lemon lowers the glycemic index of any food it is added to. And… we are not talking a few points here. The drop is very significant! To benefit from this, all you have to do is add a little squeeze of fresh lemon over your food. Almost like waving a magic wand, this will instantly lower the glycemic index of your meal. Best of all, lemon is such an excellent flavor enhancer, it makes many foods taste better too. I often add a squeeze of fresh lemon to a hot bowl of soup (yum!), casseroles, stove top goulashes, almost any kind of salad (including salads containing fruit), and sauteed vegetables (especially greens!). Anything with chicken or fish of course tastes especially good with lemon. Please note that it is best to add the fresh lemon right before you eat the food. If you cook it in soup, for example, it can become a little bitter and the health benefits won’t be quite as great.

Have A Glass of Lemon Water First Thing In the Morning

A glass of lemon water is the perfect way for a diabetic to start the day. Most people start their day with coffee (very acidic) and food that shift the pH of the body toward the acid side. However, if you shift the pH back toward the alkaline side, you will notice your blood sugar will go down. Moreover, your cell membranes will become more sensitive to insulin – i.e. you will be LESS insulin resistant. In fact, this will actually aid your body in repairing those damaged cell membranes.

Although lemons contain a weak acid, when they are metabolized by the body they have an alkalizing effect. If fact, they are the strongest alkalizing food you can eat! This is why adding lemon to your diet can go a long way toward restoring the pH of your body to the alkaline side where it should be. It has been found that most diabetics have a very acidic body pH (as have cancer patients). Bringing back to the alkaline side will go a long way toward helping to cure your diabetes.

Making lemon water is very easy. Just squeeze the juice from a half lemon (or a full lemon if you are a larger person) into a glass of water, swirl it around a little, and drink it up. Do this first thing in the morning on an empty stomach before you have your coffee or breakfast.

Lemons Have TWICE the Vitamin C As Oranges

This was a fact that surprised me as you always hear that orange juice is so loaded with vitamin C. Well, the orange’s citrus cousin has it beat with twice the vitamin C. Most people don’t realize but vitamin C is an extremely powerful antioxidant. It is important to note that vitamin taken in the form of food is MUCH better absorbed by the body than vitamin C taken in the form of a pill!

Vitamin C is at least part of the reason lemons interact with the cell membrane and make it less insulin resistant. However, vitamin C also have other very important benefits to the diabetic as well. For example, it increases the production of collagen which strengthens blood vessels. This is key since many diabetics have problems with circulation and arterial damage.

Aids In Repairing Digestion

Most diabetics have impaired digestive enzymes and lowered acidity in the stomach. This means that they don’t always reap the full benefit from the nutritious food they eat. Lemon goes a long way toward curing this problem as well.

A Complete Step By Step Guide To Curing Diabetes Naturally

Don’t let anyone fool you. It is possible to cure type 2 diabetes. I cured my diabetes! I went from a HgAC1 of 10.6 to less than 6 (my last reading was 5.2) in less than 6 months and I’ve been able to keep it that way. When I was first diagnosed, they were giving me insulin and then they wanted me to take a variety of prescription drugs. I finally said, “NO!” and I shopped around to find another doctor who would support my efforts to cure my diabetes naturally.

Celebrities / Awareness In Weight Management This Christmas by healthenquire: 9:16am On Dec 24, 2013
Are you going to be “aware” of what you are doing towards your weight management issues this Christmas?

It is amazing how useful “being aware” can be in managing your weight – and even more so at Christmas with so much food around. Once you become aware you can be more mindful of what and why you are eating which in turn gives you a choice.

Perhaps asking yourself the following questions might help.

1. Why am I eating?
2. Am I really hungry?
3. What am I hungry for?
4. Is this just a craving?

Why am I eating?

There could be many reasons why you are eating:

To be sociable and the meal you are waiting for will not be ready for another hour.

An emotional reason: perhaps a person you find difficult to be around is going to be present. Using awareness could help you realize that the only person who will suffer here is you. The other person is probably not aware of the effect they are having on you, certainly not with how much you are eating. Remember they cannot make you eat. It is your choice.

Am I really hungry?

This is where you need to be aware of what it really feels like for you to be hungry. Often when we diet we lose touch with the feeling of hunger. The diet has been dictating when and what we eat.
Also we start to lose the ability to know what hunger feels like – because as children we are made to eat everything that is on the plate.

If you have children think about what you are doing when you make an issue over food. If you stop to think about it, the child is doing what comes naturally: if they do not want to eat, it could be that they are not hungry, but we adults are making the mistake of making the child eat even though he/she isn’t hungry. Consequently they lose touch with what hunger really feels like.

Marc David in his book Nourishing Wisdom says “We are born to eat” So why do we worry so much if junior does not eat? Because we are born to eat and as it is so important, then hunger is the signal that the body wants to eat. If junior needs nourishment he will eat!

So one of the things that we need to learn when we are watching our weight is getting in touch with WHY we are eating – and learning to eat only if we are hungry and not because it is time to eat.

What am I Hungry For?

When we spend our lives either dieting or bingeing or just eating too much, we lose the ability to ask ourselves what we are actually hungry for.

Perhaps it could be soup as it is cold weather.

Or if it is hot weather would a really nice salad go down a treat?

Or perhaps you are thirsty and not hungry.

If you have been eating all day it could be that one chocolate with your coffee will suffice. If you are really hungry and you have just turned up at a party and you have a drink in your hand it may be that perhaps just one or two of those nibbles will take the edge off your appetite, rather than the whole bowl full that happens to be on the coffee table in front of you.

Try sitting back or moving away from the nibbles once you become aware of the fact that actually you are just eating without being aware of what you are doing. It may be an interesting exercise to observe other people and watch how mindlessly they are stuffing away the nibbles!

On Christmas Eve it may be traditional to have mincepies and mulled wine after midnight mass. So yes you will be hungry for a mincepie perhaps? Taste it, eat it slowly and enjoy it, but don’t eat the whole plateful! Be aware and know when to stop. Many people say that they won’t eat any, because they could not stop at just one. So they end up feeling deprived and at some point they lose control and then cannot stop once they start. So in this case the question of what you are hungry for could be that you are hungry for the tradition of the mince pie. Satisfy that hunger and learn to trust your instincts and yes; learn to recognize with awareness what you are hungry for.

Is this just a Craving?

The answer to this could very well be; Yes! What have you been eating or drinking beforehand? Alcohol lowers your resistance and makes you less aware for a start. Then there is the fact that sugar can be something that people crave. So the chances are that as there is a lot of sugar hanging around at the moment, this gives your body a signal to start craving. This can be so, particularly after a period of deprivation such as dieting or being under stress and simply not eating. This is explained in more detail in Robert Ludwig’s book “Fat Chance”.

So just enjoy your Christmas and be aware, be Very Aware!

Health / Tips On Making Life Easier When You Are A Diabetic by healthenquire: 10:10am On Dec 20, 2013
Millions of people live with diabetes around the world every day, some of them do not even know they are diabetics until they find themselves on a hospital bed with failing kidneys or high blood pressure. It is a fact that diabetes cannot be cured but it is also a fact that it is possible to lead a normal life as a diabetic. Here are a few tips you can follow which will make life easier for you and will keep your blood glucose level in check.

The first thing a diabetic must learn and get used to is to lead an orderly life. This does not mean that you will wake at a specific time, take a shower, dress and go to work. No, it means that there are certain things you must do and keep in mind to keep your glucose levels within the proper range. The first thing diabetics complain about is food, the majority of diabetics are overweight which is one of the reasons that the disease showed up in the first place. Diabetics can eat most anything as long as their diet is combined with a couple more things.
