My interest is in new features though. Not playing at 4K means I really don't need a monster of a card. Heck, I'm building another PC for video editing and threw in a HD5870 Eyefinity Edition as it supports multiple screen support and it manages to lock 60FPS 1080p medium settings.

I've seen Pascal's features i.e Vulkan support(really looking forward to its widespread adoption), Multi-projection etc and it's exciting.

I'm less keen as I did on how many FPS one can get these days.

Yeah, I've been following the new king. Nvidia have pulled one of their stunts again. At the press they showed the Founders Edition running at 67 deg C. On release, it thermal throttled at 82 deg C on an open test bench (out of the box)..lol...increasing power/temp limit helped maintain it's stated boost clock but that thing ran at 87 deg C..partner cards will defo perform better....but I'll be skipping this generation and wait to see what happens around when Vega launches.

Hey man, been a while...I hope subsequent DX12 games especially under UWP match or surpass this kind of results by Turn 10...they done a fab job...although I'm still leaning more towards PCars the handling is a bit more forgiving.

I know, right. I was watching the Live stream on YouTube by Original Gamer...it's a shame...MS UWP is rubbish...There's still a lot of work to do...all that DX12 gist seems a farce; having to play at 30FPS...I might as well get an Xbox One. First Gears Of War, then Rise of the Tomb raider, now Quantum...in fact it should read QUANTUM BROKEN.

My question is don't the developers test games before release.. I mean, how long does it take to take a hand full of graphic cards and play the game before release. PC gamers get this kind of treatment time after time..and this treatment promotes piracy. why pay $60.00 only to find out that your high end rig has to play at console level..arrghhh!

I agree...however I test games first if it's available, before commiting to buy. This was the case with Project Cars...got a copy for steam via cdkeys.com eventually. There's no way im not playing online and getting some DLC.

I have VSR working ok on mine. You mean near 4K lol... 3200x1800.....if you haven't, try uninstalling the driver with with DDU first..and reinstall.

I got my refund for hitman...too many teething problems. I'll wait till most bugs are ironed out and hopefully it'll be cheaper then. Only got the intro pack to try it out.

Got rid of the Titan SLI and resurrected my 290X CF with a 1440p monitor. At the moment, Crossfire isn't supported but may be at release.

With one 290X OC'd to 1110Mhz Core + 1325Mhz Mem with +13mV on core voltage - I get an average of 70Fps all maxed out (ignore the window mode on, had to go window mode to use snip tool)

Titans sold( was going for the Titan X but will wait for the next gen hardware for now, the 290x CF fire has been resurrected. I'm keen to see its performance in Hitman coming out this Friday

With the recent turn in events, the media with turn from the heat output (losses) of the GCN architecture and turn to its performance in DX12 and how the maxwell architecture isn't hardware ready for async compute.

There isn't any indication that Pascal will have this hardware available bearing in mind hardware implementation is a very lengthy process ( from my knowledge of FGPA's and ASICS).

NV will certainly respond to this with a driver but I doubt if it will perform as well. But I'd stay optimistic.

This contradicts the fact that the 390/390X also shares the same GCN 1.1 architecture with the 290/290X. I don't trust the results on AoS in that video the disparity to high my guess is DX12 wasn't turned on in that test. Another AoS benchmark will be good to compare results.

It's interesting to know AMD had this tech 4yrs ago. AMD cards have always had raw power(that I know). If NV doesn't answer with Pascal (that doesn't include a driver workaround), I'll be digging out my 290X' CF ( somehow I'm glad I didn't sell them) and selling the Titans. The demand for AMD card will increase if NV doesn't respond with similar architecture in Pascal; owners will be flogging GTX's at ridiculous prices.

AMD's known for their less efficient cpu's compared to Intel so I guess that's how they roll.

Its rumoured that Nvidia tried to stop oxide from releasing the benchmark for ashes of singularity sef. The dirty games they play.

Kudos to AMD having the upper hand. They always been in the forefront of new tech bringing HBM in the Fury.

My point is,if I can get all the Xbox exclusives on PC,why on earth would I buy an Xbox,especially when the games will most likely be cheaper with better graphics on PC,and you don't have to pay through your nose to play online.I guess it's just PS4 Vs PC now

if you want to drag Maxwell into the mix, lets just wait till DX12 is widely available in games and drivers have been optimised..I won't go into this debate with single titles and non-optimised drivers. Bear in mind Nvidia still make very powerful efficient GPU's.. All this jargon....will be tested in a few months down the line.

Don't get carried away..till DX12 games are widely available I'll hold fire and remind you of the marginal difference..Gears of War (DX12) is out but poor developing means both the green and red team aren't performing well. Forza 6 (DX12 also) comes out later this year.

Yh. And i'm expecting Halo to port over to PC as well. And who knows, maybe Sony ll even be crazy enough to port God of War and Uncharted to PC as well. And then PC can finally blow them consoles out of the water
