youmour:Have you played gta v on pc. i played gta v in 4k native res on my crossfire setup and nothing simply touches it from a visual point of view ,its boasts absolutely stunning photo-realistic visuals. Both games have excellent gameplay, but in terms of graphics fidelity, gta v is one of the most visually impressive games so far along with witcher 3.D |
AdeLaNa1:Yep but i really hate it in far cry 3.It causes huge frame drops from 60 fps to like 25 when ever am on close to a mountain top, communication tower or viewing an island from a birds eye view.Normal gameplay is 60 fps but those circumstances are really distracting. But when i turn off vsync my frames jump well above 60 to like 80 to 90 fps. i don't use a freesync monitor. so my monitor refresh rate is locked to 60. I use a crossfire setup of two radeon r9 390x and and a non x version. i disabled one card and ran it on one.have you ever used adaptive frame rate target control. its a better solution than vsync if it works with the game. but i have not been able to make it with work with far cry 3.. |
i run far cry 3 at ultra graphics setting at 1080p with 8x AA on.The problem i encounter is that my screen support only 60hz.i experience some minor screen tear at times due my vga outputting higher frames than my monitor can handle. is there any alternative to capping the frames to locked 60 fps to prevent the screen tear? i don't want to vsync it. |
D3l:are you referring to chert.ng? The site is very easy. I recommended a case for you. Get a corsair 200r. It a very decent case for any a highend rig. |
D3l:Is it abroad? i got my case and basically most of my hardware from outletpc . it's a local hardware store. i don't really know any place you can get it in Nigeria. A friend of mine suggested chert.ng. It's a Nigerian Computer store that can help you with that . I suggest you purchase a corsair 200r or corsair 300r case. It has amazing airflow and lots of openings in the case for proper cable management. |
D3l:Good hardware. Most tier 1 psu like seasonic have inbuilt mechanisms for handling both under voltage and over voltage. Infact ,they have passed tons of Quality Assurance tests regarding scenarios to what you are worried about. An inverter has some similarities to UPS , and my rig works perfectly well. You shouldn't worry at all. You are covered. |
D3l:It depends on the rest of your system setup. But you have a very decent psu. i have used seasonic for 3 years ,its a tier 1 class psu.Top notch product. Are you using an amd cpu/gpu or nvidia? Amd systems are power hungry.what are your system specs?with that i can give you an estimate of the total power consumption for your rig. |
D3l:what outage?i don't live in Nigeria where the power situation is erratic ,although am currently spending 6 months in Nigeria due to work related projects. For my brief stay here, i run all my appliances via a solar powered inverter for safety purposes. What is the wattage of your psu?Are you using a desktop rig or laptop? My rig consumes 600 watt of continuous power at max performance setting |
D3l:UPS?No , i don't use UPS. My psu is an Evga super nova g2 650 watt 80 plus gold certified. it very very efficient .it was purchased off a local store(outletpc). |

AdeLaNa1:To Some extent gtx 570 is still relevant but it still cant handle some 2015 titles maxed. try maxing out project cars at 1080p with full weather effects on. it will barely hold 30 fps with serious dips to the 20's.but generally with such gpu you should be looking at 1080p gaming at medium setting - high in most titles. project cars is a behemoth , my 8gb gddr5 radeon r9 390 couldn't max it out 3200 x 1800 res on very high, i had to lower it to 2560 x 1440p on high graphics details using vsr before i could run it at close to locked 60 fps per second. And of course by next year with dx 12 titles such as deus ex mankind divided expect high systems requirement. |
koolswagking:You are right.A midrange to highend pc simply makes console games look obsolete. |

kimco:sorry for the off topic what is the total wattage of your psu? is it a bronze certified psu? mine failed on me so fortunately it didn't affect my board. my system is a power hug because am running an r9 390 gpu.THANKS |
purplekayc:Yep , saw your rig stats, but i am just interested in your psu. did you purchase it in nigeria. i placed an order with my credit card but the fact i am in nigeria for now , i was declined direct shipment from outletpc /superbiiz. so if you purchased it here would you be kind enough in sharing were i can get mine without going through the hassle involved with finding alternative shipment methods. Thanks |
purplekayc:so it powered your rig? my apevia 700 watt couldn't handle mine. although my gpu has a maximum tdp of 300 watt on it own. please find out the name and brand. And also did you buy it in nigeria. This country seems to be very crappy when it comes to basic high end pc components . couldn't find any hardware stores online that sells it. will be in this country for the next 5 months so it wouldn't be easy to ship from outletpc my favorite local hardware store because they ain't ship to nigeria. Thanks |
purplekayc:hi what power supply are you using for your rig. my corsair 6oo watt bronze certified psu just had issues. i got an apevia 700 watt psu but most of my friends don't recommend it because its history of being unpredictable, sometimes it works sometimes it burns motherboard. i am using a very highend gpu and might do a crossfire setup soon for my 4k gaming experience. so am checking for possible replacement for the apevia if i dont trust it enough to use it. i am currently in nigeria and would be here for a couple of months and i cant seem to find were i can get a decent psu infact moste folks aint understand my power requirements. Thanks |
