If any party takes over Lagos as it is today with the rate of rural-urban migration and absence of well structured systems in the Country, Lagos will become a big mess and a burden to the country.

Let's use Cross River State as a case study.

Under the administration of the current Governor, Cross River State is a ghost town during Decembers. There's no carnival and the towns are as dirty as any Nigerian town. Weed and rodents have taken over what used to be the destination of tourists in Nigeria.

You may ask why succession democracy doesn't have a place in North America and Western Europe but nations in those continents prosper. Those countries had systems built for more than 100 years before they could work. That is why whether an American President is Democrat or Republican, he knows that he has a responsibility of fighting at least one foreign war before he leaves office because America profits through foreign domination.

We are still in the process of building strong systems and institutions. Don't argue that anything will change soon because even Peter Obi which you portray as something new is bigger than Labour Party. That's a classical example of individuals being powerful than institutions and systems.

You should instead study the rise of the Emirates to understand how the succession of their monarchs helped them in achieving their goals or China to comprehend why there is the CCP.

Soyinka is one of the ppl I respect up to today. He is fearless and a voice during bad leadership which is rear this days. But I can't compare the 2 coz they are one of our best brain in what they do. But for a person to reject the nation honor is never a crime. If u don't she the person given it as some one worth it u can reject it. Even during trump so many ppl rejected his offer it no bog deal.

Right,it is not wrong at all,but Nigeria is still a developing country at the time Achebe rejected the honour and it is till date,at that period and time what message did Achebe message pass to those looking up to him
And the question is how many international awards or honours did Achebe get and how many did he reject
National honours are given to people to encourage them and those behind on the right path they are threading
It is meant to show solidarity among the people of the nation....
Rejecting it based on tribalistic view and not national outlook is merely sowing discord and passing the wrong message and that is the path chiamada is threading aswell
All those great nation's you see today did not just became great all of a sudden
They were United nationally even when their opinion on matters are different...
And it is not easy to be a leader of a country like ours especially when they are many interest to satisfy that is why I say that among all the presidential candidates none of them is qualified enough to rule this country in this kind of system where there is no ounce of unity in the country

Believe if Achebe was even given the education sector of the country to handle me might still not have more than what we have

Meanwhile Soyinka has contributed in many ways that even led him to detention then to exile and even the federal road safety corps was his brain child
While Nigeria was facing turbulent time most of this activist knowers of what I was right fled the country even before they were forced to...
Achebe is not even worthy of national honour in the first place and mostly others aswell..
Honours like this should be conferred ok n those who suffered even to death for what is right in the country from the very beginning not those who live to tell the tale in leisure�️�️
