Days went into weeks and weeks moved into months. One! two! three! four! five! six! Six good months but there was nothing to show for it. I had invested all I had and had even borrowed more to salvage the business but to no avail.

'Maybe it just isn't for me', I silently consoled myself. I was about to throw in the towel when some silent thoughts began to whisper in my years: what would you gain if you quit this business today? You might have lost much but you would be a loser forever if you quit the business. There is no hope for any recovery. {read before you quit your network marketing business}

Then I summoned courage and put myself together. I started telling myself I could do it. I could effect a change in my business. I could do the miracle and turn my life around. Slowly, hope began to re-appear and belief started to intensify. The embers were being gently fanned into a living flame when this 'bad' day occurred.

One of the people I look up to in the business walked up to my partner and immediate boss and began to question his belief in me.

'Why would you continue to support him? He's been dormant for about six months and yet you still offer him your help. Don't assist him any longer!' She roared.

Being a very close and trusted friend that he was, he came to tell what transpired between the woman who happened to be his boss and partner and himself.

It was like draining the last drop of blood in me. "I've had it", I told myself. The resuscitating embers seem to come to a halt and the growing hope hit the 'pause' button.

But do you know what I did?

I transformed it into one of my very best days ever.

I changed the meaning that I read into the 'bad' day. If I had achieved considerable success over the course of six months, the bad day would not have happened. There and then, I made promised myself to intensify my efforts so as to produce the amount of success I desire as soon and fast as possible.

I resolved to learn the skills that would propel me into the top 5% in my business. I decided to stop looking for shortcuts and easy routes but do the needed and necessary works. I determined to become so good that they cannot ignore me.

I saw myself as a winner no matter what. Although it seems I might have grounded at the moment, I saw myself as flying as fast as possible.

And do you know what? I began to fly. And you can too.

The rate at which people embrace and get into MLM/NM is quite amazing. But the level with which people drop out is quite devastating.

Excitement fills the hearts as we watch the videos, listen to the testimonials and read the magazines. Our whole body thrills with joy as we see the magnificent lifestyles being lived by successful network marketers.

We instantly believe their stories could be ours too and we charge out with excitement and great enthusiasm. We begin the process of prospecting and presenting. But no sooner had we begun that the excitement and enthusiasm decrease. We get frustrated and tired and feel like quitting.

"I'm tired of this!" You shout to yourself.

[center]Before You Quit[/center]

Before you hands off completely and say bye bye to MLM / NM, before you throw in the towel and begin to chant the "it's not for me" or "I just can't do it" song, why not pause and think? Why not recoil to a quiet place where your mind can work actively as you ruminate and ponder on the turn of events?

Don't just quit because the going has turned tough.

Remember that the road to rhema is mostly always rough.

So before you quit, pause and reflect.



[center]You Have Something To Lose[/center]

It's not uncommon to hear someone on his way to quitting say that he has nothing to lose. Really? You don't? Check these out:

Invested Time: those spent on trainings, seminars, webinars and events of all sort. Those spent prospecting and presenting, reading magazines and watching videos; which could have been spent on other things.
Invested Money: initial cost of signing up or registration, starting products (for product-based MLM businesses), money spent on transportation and airtime, etc.
Invested Energy: expended physical, mental, emotional and psychological energies and their accompanying stresses.
Damaged Reputation: How will you face friends and families whom you have hurriedly and unprofessionally pitched and sold the idea of a magnificent lifestyle, never-ending residual income and luxurious travels to and tell them you no longer believe in the dream you sold them before?
Low Self Esteem: how will you see yourself – piling up the number of unfinished tasks and uncompleted projects - further empowering the negative belief of quitting and inconsistency?


Resolve to Keep Keeping On

Your best bet is never to stop moving. It may be quite challenging at the beginning but the

If you’re not walking, crawl.

By any means, never stop moving.[/center]

You can only win when you do not quit. Once you quit, you can never win. The choice is yours to make – whether to quit or remain.

So whenever you are tempted to quit, pause & reflect, think about all you have to lose and keep on keeping on.

‘What’s the problem?’, a curious passerby asked the artist. “You’ve been staring at the board for quite some time now and despite having all the necessary materials, no image has been conjured on the board.”

Then he realised the artist has forgotten what he wanted to draw. Or, did he forget? Maybe he simply didn’t have any picture in mind before getting on the drawing board.

He had not only wasted his time, the precious resources in his capacity and disappointed the gazing crowd.

Before we castigate this artist, how many of us are innocent of this? We simply prepare our luggage and get on the bus before realising we don’t even know where we are going! How pathetic!

As Christians, we go to church, laboring so much in prayer, seeking for upliftment to a higher or the next level but with no clear picture of what the next level looks like.

It may look vague, so blurry that it seems we have the real image conjured and captured in our minds. But on closer observation and scrutiny, we find out we don’t even have any image.

Painting a picture is not the same thing as comparison. Measuring ourselves against other persons without taking into considerations peculiar challenges, metrics and characteristics is a mere display of ignorance and unseriousness.

I am guilty of this as a Nigerian and you are too. We simply clamour for change and transformation without knowing aforehand what the aftermath of our desires are.
