Thiza: SOUTH AFRICA BENCHMARKS ITSELF WITH THE BEST IN THE WORLD NOT PAYING HOTAIR LIP SERVICE ABOUT BEING THE BEST AND YET CONTINOUSLY BEEN EMBARRASED AND HUMILIATED BY BH @AUGUSTUS READ THE ATTACHMENT

A nine-strong “senior” team from the SANDF Reserve Force brought home the bacon from the recent CIOR (Inter Allied Confederation of Reserve Officers) International Military Skills competition.

The South African team travelled to Hammelburg, Germany, to take part in the “experienced” category and finished first ahead of mainly NATO countries.

Msauza: UK DOES NOT WANT NIGERIA- TRAINED DOCTORS ANYMORE BECAUSE THEY ARE POORLY TRAINED. SA WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME BUT IT IS DESPERATELY IN NEED OF DOCTORS.
Yes because most of our young doctors in S.A are offered better paying jobs overseas that's why we have to stick with third class ish :[

Henry120: Those rifles that use the 5.56 Ammo, are only good for CQB. Well speaking to an NAF QRF member a few days back, he told me he prefers his FN to the current Tavor-21 they are currently issued. The problem with the Tavor or rifles shooting 5.56 rounds, he needs to shoot 5 rounds into an enemy before he falls, unlike with the FN were 1 round can simply do the job.

So missions decide the sort of Rifle he carries. Let me add, even american S.F units use the A.K, forget about the photo sessions. The 7.62 AK round is a much more effective round than the 5.56, besides this, your enemy is most likely armed with an A.K, so there is a near un-limited supply of Ammo for the soldier.
Yeah true I think that's why our Generals in S.A chose to upgrade our R4 & R5s instead of getting new Rifles.

But my problem with the A.K and the older rifles is that they are heavy, their accuracy is not that good, they jam like S**t, they overheat on full auto and send you off target, well every rifle does that but the AK is worse.

And people who pick 5.56mm over 7.62mm usually prefer accuracy over stopping power, and your friend has a point, they should try upgrading the FN to more modern standards
and try to make it more accurate, then to replace it with a more stylish gun.

These guys can't deal with the fact that we only lost 13 Soldiers in such an intense fight

If those claims that dude is making had any substantial evidence to back them up th D.A , Juju, and the other parties, would've torn the ANC to pieces, the D.A would've been the first to make it public, and to add o that the FFP have a serious interest in our army they follow everything our Army does, so they would've also complained, Augbu is crazy
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Helghast: 7:44pm On Aug 18, 2014
MikeZA: Yes,the SANDF uses both upgraded R1 and R4 in the DM role. Snipers are usually found in the support elements of the force.
oh jah and about the R4, I don't how the only people I've seen so far with upgraded R4 are guys who are based in S.A, one would expect that the guys going on actual deployments would be the ones carrying new rifles.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Helghast: 6:43pm On Aug 18, 2014
andrewza: both R4 and R1 have DM versions the SF all so have G3 DM and other stuff (M16a2 with M203)
Oh shweet dude I'll check that out, I'm very jealous of the Sf because they get to pick any rifle the want, unless its a deep penetration mission where they have to use modern rifles that use the type of ammunition that's is very common to that place :[
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Helghast: 6:19pm On Aug 18, 2014
MikeZA: Designated marksmen rifle. SA uses a couple of versions.
oh my bad, but the site I got it from said we use that as an Infantry sniper rifle, and we use an Upgraded R1 as a Designated Marksman Rifle.

Henry120: We are not buying any Apaches or attack helicopters from the U.S. Nigeria can only buy Transport helicopters with defensive weapons or OPV's from the U.S, or any military equipments in this class.

We are all waiting forward for what the government has purchased. We only know that the NAF have received A-29 super Tucanos for CAS.
Nah dude I know that you guys are not planing on buying any Attack Helos from the the U.S I was just wondering that if you're government wished to buy them, would it be possible for them to do so with any problems or objects from anyone in the West?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Helghast: 12:33am On Aug 17, 2014
So let's say if Nigeria were to try and place an offer to buy a couple of Apaches would it be aloud?

And when are y'all getting the new jets, I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys are going to buy

vdGeist: BAE Systems to sell its SA armoured vehicle subsidiary to Denel

https://us-cdn.creamermedia.co.za/assets/articles/images/resized_medium/0000343061_resized_baesystemsrg35fittedwithtrtb25aad2012109121022duane.jpg

UK-based global defence group BAE Systems is to sell its South African armoured and mine-protected vehicle and related systems subsidiary BAE Systems Land Systems South Africa (LSSA) to South Africa’s State-owned defence group Denel. LSSA is located in Benoni, east of Johannesburg.

BAE Systems holds 75% of LSSA and Denel will also acquire the 25% of the company now owned by South African private sector (and black empowerment) company DGD Technologies (2001) to give the State-owned entity 100% of the Benoni-based business. The sale is dependent on the gaining of the necessary regulatory and other approvals.

LSSA is composed of three complementary divisions – OMC, which specialises in wheeled armoured, mine protected and patrol vehicles; Gear Ratio, which focuses on mechanical driveline components, gears and precision-machined parts; and Dynamics, which is responsible for turrets, remotely-operated weapons stations and fire control systems. It employs some 500 people.

BAE Systems has decided to dispose of LSSA because the global group sees wheeled armoured and mine protected vehicles as not being a core business. “This proposed sale will further shape our portfolio around our core capabilities in tracked, combat and amphibious vehicles and weapon systems, which represent markets where we possess strong franchise positions and discriminating capabilities,” affirmed BAE Systems Platforms and Services president Erwin Bieber. “We also recognise that the LSSA employees have made a significant contribution to BAE Systems over the last ten years and we believe that transitioning ownership to Denel will better position the LSSA business to achieve its full potential working with a strong South African company.”

“This proposed acquisition is in line with our company’s strategy to broaden our leading land system solutions through the addition of resources and assets, such as those of LSSA, which complement our capabilities in the design and integration of combat turrets, artillery and infantry systems and armoured vehicles,” stated Denel group CEO Riaz Saloojee. The intended deal between the two companies was announced on Monday.

This is awesome its going to be a huge step forward for the defence industry in S.A. This shows the Governments commitment of growing a large and local defense industry

charlos14: dumb south african goverment..... I would also fight for the idf and protect israel against any group bound on destroying it and its people.......
All these mthafvcker need to go back in time and remember that israel was dirt but through hard work...... Israel have rose again and now all the ugly asses are pissed
I wouldn't say it a dumb decision its a decision base on morality as they do not want to take sides in the matter hence why they "condemn the killing of civilians" and don't condemn israel for defending itself, plus Israel resembles the Apartheid Government and they also had strong ties with the Apartheid government that's why S.A is try distance itself for them.

unapologetic: Stop claiming the victory of the 400 dead seleka, it was a joint fight between mozambique, Sandf, Malawi and Tanzania... am sure that ur soldiers were even scared to shoot the rebel...

The fear of the M23 rebel group was the beginning of wisdom for SANDF because they dare not go back to face them after receiving threats from them.

After the formation of the FIB M23 were very angry once they found out that S.A was going to be part of the force they began smear campaigns against our army, they were afraid of us they even opened multiple twitter accounts in which they tried to attack and discourage S.A troops trying to gives us all kinds of reasons in why we shouldn't go there,

They even offered to allow our President a chance to come over to try and show him that they a not a violent movement and they were doing what they were doing to try and help people, when they found out S.A was coming they were s**ting their pants that's why they did everything in their power to try and bargain with us, then when that failed they tried using scare tactics on twitter

S.A Government is too worried about pleasing people than to do what makes sense, as a Black Atheist South African if I could i would also go and join the IDF to help stop the tyranny of Islam, look at what's going on in Iraq, people being slaughtered like animals women having their throats slit and bled into buckets under the name of Islam

Yep the great Nigeria the country that represents pure Africans, and yet 50% of your countrymen believe and are controlled by a religion that is not of African origin, you claim to know what pure Africanism means yet your entire traditional dress code is inspired by Arab traditional gab.

you have forgotten your roots your ancestors and forefathers weep as you praise western and eastern culture and yet you feel that you have the right to tell others what is right, I once argued with all4naija because he was scalding S.Acans for writing in their languages and he claimed that this was an English forum, yet you Nigerians still dare to tell us that there is only one definition of being an African.

Your brothers Massacre each other in the North of you Country in the name of a religion that is not even of Nigerian Origin and yet you have the odessity to try and tell us what is and what is not.

alchemist13: Yes, I agree Hamas needs to be rooted out before there can be any progress. However, I believe Israel can do better to avoid civilian casualties; they are just not doing enough!
Yeah true IDF need to try to do more to avoid killing civilians because right now its all just collateral damage, because Hamas fires rockets near civilian buildings then they quickly retreat just as the air strikes are about to begin... In all of the videos I've seen so far of Hamas firing rockets into israel, you can clearly see that they are being fired from heavily populated and urban areas where you can also see civilians running around, most of these rockets are fired by mobile units and are mounted on trucks and pickup-van

Just heard on R.T that Russia has been slapped with defence export Sanctions, that will start on the 1st of August, so my question is that is this going to affect Nigeria's acquisitions of helicopters because Mr Re"tard agbubu said the helicopters will be delivered within 2months cause it would be a major bummer if the helicopters aren't delivered within time. .

Hey coconut head, Israel does not need support from the 99.9% Muslims civilians of Gaza, the Israelis are already bombarding them with artillery on civilian houses....k.illed over 1,000 women, men, children, and new born babies in 21 days....if Nigerian army does that in Damboa village that loves Boko Haram, what will USA/UK/NATO/EU/UN and dummies like you say? You cry murder and genocide, sure you will.....dumbo !

[/size]
Hey dumba'ss I said 99.99% of Palestinians hate Israel and most of them support Hamas which will make it harder for Israel, and unlike you guys B.H doesn't have their own country to operate in, and they don't have the support of more than 500 000 people, B.H is nothing compared to Hamas.
you guys are fighting B.H in your own backyard which is a huge advantage, unlike having to go into another country were the environment is different and the locals don't want anything to do with you.

If Bokoharam was based in Cameroon, Ghana etc... I would understand and acknowledge the fact that it would be much harder for you, but B.H are inside Nigeria dude, they don't have a country to run to.

This dude doesn't understand that N.A is not invading another country where basically 99.99% of the population hates you, and most of them are in support of the local Militia, and don't mind hiding them in their homes. Plus nigeria is not surrounded by Arab countries that can secretly supply the terrorists with arms and specialised training, Hama is far superior to B.H. Hamas has millions of followers most of my muslim friends post pictures of the Al-Qassam brigade on bbm, twitter and F.B everyday.
That slowpoke wants us to believe that N.A is superior to Israel, But nigeria Is facing a less powerful enemy in their own back yard and they are still getting their butts whooped, Hamas uses tactical precision and the element of surprise to attack Israel they don't just Role into an Israeli town in large convoys with their di'cks hanging out, they would get wiped out if they did what B.H is doing to Nigeria.
Dude don't waste your time responding to that Douche
