Like we care what a smelly insignificant pig from the netherlands has to say.

I know a south-african who ran away from the country after his father was murdered, his murder and sister were also murdered in broad day light.

The poor man is currently hustling for dear life in calabar.
fact is he didn't run to Nigeria!! cheesy

NaijaPikinGidi:
What makes the story from a faceless and nameless "journalist" a fact? In contrast the journalists in SANDF's CAR debacle have real names and faces. Tell us which soldiers they interviewed and where the interview happened? In the North East frontlines or access controlled military barracks? Beat that!
Your journalist only included the names of a Seleka rebel commander and his troops who and got f*cked up by S.A and then he also wrote about an unknown source who was at the airport who claims to have seen more than 15 bodies being loaded into a C-130, so your argument is crap becasuse your journalist talks about a mysterious and unknown source who saw more than 15 bodies

Centrifude:
Dude any slowpoke can go on camera and reveal their name and identity and claim sh*t that aint true, so you're telling me that since those people revealed their names what they said is true?

Fact is French troops *Legitamate Witnesses* confirmed the number of dead SANDF soldiers because the base was under their control and we couldn't fly out any bodies without them knowing. Which proves that your claims are as insufficient as the claims of Nigerian Soldiers are burying their dead on the battle field, the point of my original post was to prove that its very easy for a person to post stories without facts and pass them on as fact.

Why don't you show us 50 dead SANDF Soldiers BEAT THAT!!!
Hmmm you purposely forced this whole C.A.R argument into a 'Stale Mate', well played!!

Probably the main reason you asked for their own death statistics.
Well played!!

Centrifude: Mi-35 best attack heli in africa?
have they forgotten about Algeria's 'Superhind Mk-3' which was upgraded in S.A and is a direct competitor to Mi-35 and some consider it to be better than the Mi-35.

Not forgetting that ATE also produces the Superhind Mk-4 which is way better than the Mi-35. So if there was a shortage of attack helicopters in the S.A.A.F we'd buy more from local companies, which are way better than what N.A has.

First pic: Algerian Super-Hind-MK3

Second pic: ATE prototype. Of the Super-Hind-Mk4
Very Very true!
And those are some kick-*ss pictures.

Thiza: The South African Air force (SAAF) impressed foreign military dignitaries at Tuesday’s Air Capability Demonstration (ACD) with an impressive display of firepower and synchronised manoeuvring.

The air power display is held twice a year at the Roodewal weapons range outside Polokwane in Limpopo. The event provides the SAAF with an opportunity to demonstrate its operational capabilities, including co-operation with the others arms of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF). Ancillary to the ACD was the requirement to set up a temporary airbase at the weapons range.

It is also the only time invited dignitaries and guests are able to witness aircraft firing live weapons at close range.

The Air Force timed the event to take place on the day prior to the official opening of the eighth biennial Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) exhibition taking place at AFB Waterkloof from 17 to 20 September. According to Chief of the Air Force, Lt. Gen. Fabian Msimang, the ACD provided the various international air force chiefs visiting AAD with an “intimate gathering” at which to showcase the flexible military capabilities of the SAAF. Senior SANDF members of the National Security Program were also in attendance.

What made this ACD event particularly interesting was that it was timed to coincide with dusk, demonstrating the Air Force’s ability to operate at any time of the day or night.

Proceedings commenced with introductory speeches and background information, followed by 80 minutes of incredible noise caused by the live firing of rockets, mortars, cannon, machine guns and the dropping of bombs, all with the continuous clatter of rotor blades overhead.

Following the insertion of Pathfinders dropped from a C208 Caravan at 6,000ft in order to collect intelligence and mark targets, a Hawk fitted with a Vinten reconnaissance pod, escorted by a Gripen, obtained tactical information over the battlefield. The Gripen, having been targeted by a SAM, released flares.

Various simulated exercises, including a South African Army element, comprised scenarios ranging from mortar attacks, air supply drops and troop insertions. A low-level supply drop by a C-130 Hercules was followed by two Gripens and a Hawk performed a 2v1 dogfight.

Oryx medium-transport helicopters demonstrated water bombing with Bambi buckets and continuously dropped off and picked up troops while an Agusta A109 Light Utility Helicopter performed observation and co-ordination of ground force duties.

With a BK-117 performing an ‘emergency landing’ after the pilot was hit by ground fire, a combat Search & Rescue scenario was enacted. The ensuing mock battle included the firing of 81mm motors, with Oryx helicopters inserting and extracting troops whilst two Rooivalk attack helicopters provided covering fire with 20mm cannon and 70mm FFAR rockets.

Close air support was proved by a Hawk firing its 30mm Aden cannon and dropping 120kg bombs, whilst three Gripens dropped 250kg bombs on targets on the range, creating some impressively huge explosions and accompanying vibrations.

The demonstration concluded with a flypast by all the participants, with flares being fired from the Hercules, Gripen and Oryx.

The ACD clearly achieved its aim. Many of the senior foreign military dignitaries interviewed by defenceWeb afterwards commented on how impressed they were with the coordination, command & control and professionalism of the SAAF.

In the words of Deputy Chief of the South African Air Force, Maj. Gen. Gerald Malinga, “there is no task the SAAF cannot carry out
successfully.”

agaugust: Post for us reliable sources that says 90% of crimes in Nigeria goes unreported.

Every town in Nigeria has a police station and customary or magistrate court
.
you guys don't even have a legitimate crime and rape statistics, that's enough proof, plus the U.N doesn't have any crime statistics from Nigeria, you don't even know your own Murder rate, which could possibly be the highest in the world.

USA/UK/EU/NATO/ALLIES with half a million soldiers and air force all failed in Afghanistan war against Taliban, tell them to seek help from your SANDF video game photomania army

.
Lol hahahaha lmao I knew that comment would get to you, you over sensitive p*ssy.
I bet you're thinking that one of the other conutries I was talking about is S.A. Which is Definitely not.
Anyway point is U.S and the others don't give a flying Sh** about Nigeria they got better things to deal with. So that's why Nigeria would be better of asking for help from countries who've
Dealt with such issues like Algeria they'd give y'all better advice then anything the west could offer you.

Henry120: This is an Unfair generalisation, and does not actually take into account the realities in many African countries, vis-a-vis the price of running an effective military.
Well dude the main reality for most African countries is the fact that they can't afford to have large armies, its like trying to operate an A400M with the budget of a C-130
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Helghast: 9:57pm On Aug 24, 2014
agaugust: First part, you did not express yourself well, my reply was right for what you expressed in your original comment.

===============================================================================================

Britain is under no threat by any enemy in this era. It is an island surrounded by water and far away from ALL trouble spots of this world.

They keep a 130,000 man army because they know the importance of size.
Well yeah my bad for not being clear not what I meant on that other comment.

Britain has plenty of enemies dude, Iran, Russia, North Korea, some Brits even see the U.S as a potential enemy.
And also not forgetting that Britain can
Afford to have over one hundred thousand Soldiers. Nigeria can't do that you plus y'all don't have any major enemies who could easily saturate your entire country with nukes if y'all decided to down size, so in my opinion I think it would be better for you if you down sized.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Helghast: 2:04am On Aug 23, 2014
agaugust: Nigeria has about 150,000 soldiers and we are over-stretched spreading all over our land mass to fight Boko Haram.

South Africa has 50,000 soldiers and that's 3 times smaller an army than Nigeria's... on your land mass somewhat bigger than Nigeria !

If Boko Haram was in South Africa, your country will collapse under the heavy pressure of an insurgency that appears and disappears at random in multiple locations you don't expect or predict, and mixed up with civilians to confuse you.

Large armies prevent large countries from being overrun by lightly armed threats that are very mobile and of no fixed permanent base and mixed up with civilians.

One man one rifle looks cheap, but hey, it will save you in COIN war. My boss told me in the office some days ago, he said..."Augustine, Boko Haram cannot survive in America, we have 100 million civilian guns including assault rifles, we will k.ill every Boko Haram fighter on our streets, the US Army will just arrive to pick up dead bodies".

One man, one rifle !
.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Helghast: 2:02am On Aug 23, 2014
agaugust: Sorry your idea is for video games warfare.

2,000 soldiers for about 950,000 sq km land mass of Nigeria ? Go ask Britain why they are using 130,000 soldiers to defend their approx 250,000 sq km land
.
Dude I didn't say you only need 2 thousand soldiers to protect an entire country, the two thousand soldiers I'm talking about would be soldiers who would be use as the main fighting force, once the two thousand soldiers complete a mission and remove B.H from a certain position, the army would then post other soldiers or police to act as guards
And make sure that B.H doesn't resurface in that area.

The 2000 soldiers are used as the main fighting force that secures an area then the army deploys guard to protect that area...

And don't forget that Britain has *REAL* enemies, with *REAL* Armies, the countries opressed by England pose a great threat to their safety, Russia, North korea etc... Are actual Countries with Armies not insurgents. Those guys need to maintain their strength because of the danger that surrounds them, unlike Nigeria which doesn't have any real enemies besides B.H, you don't have people pointing W.M.Ds and drones up your A** you guys will be practically safe once you deal with the insurgency problem.

MikeZA: I agree. But this leads to lack of training, equipment and low salaries which mostly equals to low morale among soldiers. As we've seen in the DRC when M23 had the government troops running back to Kinshasa while breaking the rules of war, this is also the case in Nigeria.
Yeah Congo was a mess before the FIB

And I honestly don't believe that Nigeria needs 150k Soldiers, 2 thousand extensively trained and highly mobile troops equiped with Tavors and upgraded AKs supported by heavily armed Cobras and Igirigis *not sure if i spelt that right*.

With all of that they'd be able to take control of the entire northern region.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Helghast: 7:43pm On Aug 22, 2014
zaandrew: Quantity has a quality all on it's own. But yes most prever hgher numbers. Problem is though most can not afford high enogh numbers of high quality troops to be every where. African countries can be big.
Yeah I should have also added that, most of them want quantity but can't afford them, quantity works really good if you have a budget like U.S.A, UK etc... Were you can afford to give every soldier advance training unlike here in Africa were many governments just want their guys to be able to shoot
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Helghast: 7:20pm On Aug 22, 2014
I've noticed that many african countries prefer quantity over the quality of our soldiers, maybe that's why its so hard for many of us to protect our countries.

Nnamdini: What is the difference between hamas & boko haram?
HAMAS has BETTER training, equipment, military support, local and international civilian support, and they have more fighters then B.H and not forgetting that HAMAS has an entire Country to operate in.

Henry120: They all do this, it is left for the soldier to properly maintain his rifle.

I agree with your comment on accuracy, but on the issue of choice, policy makers choose whatever equipment they want troops to use based on varying factors.
Sometimes I think the policy makes, mainly pick guns for the way they look, and the popularity of the gun
