The only reason the APC standing is because they hold power at the centre. If they lose the 2027 election you'd understand how vulnerable and useless the party is. Killing the opposition maybe be counter productive in the long run. Many of those who supported Tinubu undemocratic actions have been sidelined by the govs who joined the party midway. Many of them are just floating. No opposition to defect to because they thought the APC was their property to keep.

Had AD and CPC sacked their excos before merging to form Apc without integrating them into the new party, there wouldn't have been anything like Apc today because the internal party issue will distract them from the main purpose of merging together
