RESURGENCE OF POLITICAL THUGGERY A.K.A SARA-SUKA:

It has come to our knowledge that some self centered politicians have perfected plans to disrupt the relative peace in the State in order to achieve their selfish political aggrandizement. Such politicians use misguided elements otherwise known as SARA-SUKA who usually under the influence of hard drugs supplied by their sponsors use offensive weapons such as machetes, knives, cutlasses etc to intimidate, assault, maim and even kill their perceived rivals including innocent citizens in the state.
The miscreants also engaged in other forms of criminal activities such as Abduction, Rape, Extortion and House Breaking among others thereby causing serious security threats in the State.
Worried by these emergent trends of thuggery and other nefarious activities, the Command has reviewed its crime prevention strategies and embarked on intensive patrol, vigorous raid of black spots, flash points and other criminal hideouts in order to nip in the bud all forms of thuggery, crime and criminality. These strategies started yielding positive results as during the week under review the command has arrested over One Hundred and Fifty (150) Suspected thugs alias SARA-SUKA from various black spots within the State and recovered the following exhibits;
knives
Machetes
Shisha pots
Packets of Tramadol tablets and other assorted drugs suspected to be hard drugs.
7 packet of vulcanizing solutions
34 Wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp
Six motorcycles suspected to be stolen
Traditional rulers, District Heads, Religious leaders, parent and Ward Heads are strongly enjoined to counsel their subjects, adherents, children and wards to refrain from any action or activities that will go contrary to the tanets of our criminal laws as the Command is determined to fully enforce the law prohibiting thugs and thuggery duly signed by the then Executive Governor in April, 2008.
Meanwhile, the Command is determined to ensure that criminals have no hiding place in the State. It must be emphasized here that safety and security is not the sole responsibility of security agencies alone, hence members of the public must play a vital role towards ensuring peace by availing the Police with useful information that will be instrumental to the unbundling of criminal acts and tendencies.
Members of the public are hereby enjoined to be law abiding and refrain from acts capable of causing a breach to public peace while endeavouring to report any suspicious movement of persons within their neighborhood through the following police emergency number 08151849417. Finally, the Command further assured citizens of its readiness to provide safety and security in the State.

Above are photos of JAMB applicants in Maiduguri struggling to buy forms in the night.According to Terab,they displayed Civil Disobedience at Nasara Computers, one of the only four (4) registration centers in the city. They even blocked the highway in front of the center until they were dispersed by the police. They were protesting because the officials of the center were getting people who were not in the queue registered.

Former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori was in Bayelsa to pay a condolence visit to Bayelsa Governor Seriake Dickson and Alamieyeseigha's family over the death of former Governor of Bayelsa State, DSP Alamieyeseigha.

He was given a heroic welcome by the President of the Ijaw Youths council  (IYC), Barr. Eric Omare and his executives.

According to Ibori,DSP was a martyr of the Niger Delta Struggle.Chief James Ibori was a bosom friend and an ally of the late Chief Alamieyeseigha.
They were contemporaries in the agitation for the realization of the 13% derivation and resource control in the Niger Delta Region.

Having left the congregation marveled and jaw-dropped by the occurrence, Mrs. Chantal Bridget Nyemeck testified that her years of pain are now a thing of the past and that she now sleeps soundly with no social mingling with dead people or a spiritual husband.

TROOPS ARREST  TWO BOKO HARAM SPIES, ANOTHER HIGH PROFILE TERRORIST SURRENDERS

On Tuesday, 28th March 2017 at about 10.00am based on information 2 suspected Boko Haram terrorists carrying out surveillance on Kareto and Dangalti villages were apprehended by troops of 158 Task Force Battalion of 5 Brigade, Nigerian Army. Preliminary investigation shows that the apprehended spies were on recconaisance mission to facilitate possible attack on the communities by Boko Haram terrorists.

Similarly, one Bulama Kailani Mohammed Metele from Tumbun Bera, a confessed Boko Haram terrorist belonging to Mamman Nur's faction of the terrorists group under the leadership of Abu Mustapha, apparently tired of the lies his commanders, surrendered himself to troops of 145 Task Force Battalion, 5 Brigade, troops at Damasak.

It has been confirmed that the surrendered suspect,  Bulama Kailani Mohammed Metel, was a high profile terrorist as he is at Serial number 253 on the Nigerian Army's Wanted Boko Haram terrorists poster produced recently. He is currently undergoing further interrogation.

The five-man judicial commission of enquiry set-up by the State Government of Osun to look into the ethnic clash that erupted between Yoruba and Hausa indigenes in Ile-Ife on March 8 has commenced work with the visitation to the incident scene and called​ for affidavit from victims and eyewitnesses.

Members of the commission, who visited the clash scene on Thursday, assured parties involved in the crisis of neutrality.

During the visit, members of the commission did a sigth-seeing of some affected buildings and addressed leaders of both the Yoruba and Hausa indigenes.

Addressing the Ooni of Ife, chairman of the commission, Justice Moshood Adeigbe, explained that all parties would be given fair-hearing.

He assured the monarch that members of the commission would not trade their integrity for anything.

He said the commission was out to ensure that the real perpetrators of the dastardly act were brought to book and ensure that all waring factions were appeased.

"We are here to inform you of our mission. We are men of integrity and we assure you that we will be totally neutral in our duty. We will do our job without fear or favour to anyone or group in the matter. We hope to have your support," he added.

Reacting, the Ooni pledged his support and that of his Chiefs in ensuring that the members of the commission actualise their mission.

He admonished them to avoid bias, stating that they should be honest in their investigation.

He informed members of the commission that many Yoruba leaders are interested in the outcome of their investigation.
